About Lil Wayne & Young Money Entertainment:

Lil Wayne rewrote the entire game in his image. The five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum rap icon, Young Money Entertainment founder, acclaimed author, pro skater, philanthropist, and history-making superstar continues to leave an indelible tattoo on the culture. He has cemented his legacy forever as “one of the best-selling artists of all time,” tallying sales in excess of 100 million records worldwide with 25 million albums and 90 million digital tracks sold in the United States alone. In 2022, Wayne earned his first Diamond certification from the RIAA with his generational smash hit “Lollipop” feat. Static Major. Not to mention, he has garnered 26 BET Awards, 4 Billboard Music Awards, 7 MTV Awards, 4 Soul Train Awards and 8 BMI Awards. Among many milestones, he emerged as “the first artist to surpass Elvis Presley with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100” and has logged a staggering 183 entries – the 3rd most of all time.

With a discography highlighted by five career spanning #1 debuts beginning with 2008’s 8x platinum, 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning opus Tha Carter III and its 6x platinum, 2011 successor Tha Carter IV, he released the latest version of the series – Tha Carter V – in 2018. Not only did it clinch #1 on the Billboard 200, but it also achieved “the second-largest streaming week for an album in history.” Every song on the tracklisting charted on the Billboard Hot 100 as he became “the first artist to debut two songs in the top 5.” It all bulldozed the way for his thirteenth full-length, Funeral, a year later. Simultaneously, Wayne owns and operates Young Money Entertainment as C.E.O. The company ignited the careers of two of the most successful artists ever—Drake. Nicki Minaj and 14 RIAA- certified platinum recording artist, Tyga. Additionally, Wayne is the co-founder of Young Money APAA Sports; the full-service agency currently represents over 40 athletes and has negotiated over $1 Billion in contracts to date. The committed philanthropist founded The One Family Foundation – a charitable group focused on helping underserved youth.

Lil Wayne Checks All the Boxes on Tour Ahead of ‘Tha Carter 6’

by Thomas Galindo May 5, 2023, 3:45 pm

On Thursday (May 4), Lil Wayne made stop No. 22 on his 28-date Welcome to Tha Carter Tour at Stubb’s BBQ Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas.

Videos by American Songwriter

Able to beat the odds (a 40% chance of rain) and deliver a performance in clear weather conditions, Wayne’s set list saw him revisit practically every worthwhile song on every rendition of his five-part Tha Carter album series.

lil wayne carter 6 tour

The night saw Wayne open up with “Mr. Carter” off Tha Carter III (2008), which landed on recent our “Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums of the 2000s” list . The next few crops of tracks he performed included “Uproar” off Tha Carter V (2018), “Fireman” and “Money On My Mind” off Tha Carter II (2005), and “Blunt Blowin” off Tha Carter IV (2011).

Midway through the show, though, Wayne decided it was time to take a breather in order to uplift some of the signees on his Young Money Records imprint. YM artists like Jay Jones, Allan Cubas, and Lil Twist all got to perform a few songs of their own, while Wayne receded to the background in preparation to end the night on a high note.

lil wayne carter 6 tour

Once he returned to the stage, Wayne finished off with fan favorites like “Go DJ” off Tha Carter (2004), “A Milli” off Tha Carter III, and his verse on Drake’s 2011 hit “H.Y.F.R,” all unassisted by backtracks with studio vocals. Quite frankly, Wayne’s energy and effort on this tour eclipses many of his prior performances from the last few years.

Among this litany of chart-topping classics, though, Wayne also played “Kant Nobody,” his only solo release thus far in 2023, which features a posthumous verse from his late friend DMX . “Kant Nobody” serves as the lead promotional single for Wayne’s sixth addition to Tha Carter series, which he’s teased several times in recent months.

With Tha Carter VI intended to drop before the end of 2023, although it has yet to be given a track list or release date, Lil Wayne’s trip-down-memory-lane tour is a perfect refresher for his most loyal fans.

Lil Wayne is back! Today (Jan. 31), the “A Milli” rapper decided to end the first month of the year with a bang by announcing his North American “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour” dates. The concert extravaganza is presented by Young Money, Rolling Loud and Live Nation.

“JUST ANNOUNCED! The one and only Lil Tunechi is bringing the #WelcomeToThaCarter Tour to a city near you. Dates kick off on April 4 in Minneapolis and run until the grand finale in Los Angeles on May 13. Idgaf what’s going on that day, I gotta be THERE!” one post read. Another person tweeted, “Lil Wayne just announced his tour!! I’m hitting at least [three] cities.”

So far, it has not been revealed who Weezy F. Baby will have joining him, but one can only expect that the rap living legend will have an insane lineup of guests. As we anxiously await more details, Wayne has other big events in the near future. This Sunday (Feb. 5), the “Mrs. Officer” hitmaker will be a Global Impact Award recipient for the 2023 Grammys. The ceremony will honor his “personal and professional achievements in the music industry.” Missy Elliott and Dr. Dre will also be recognized for their many contributions. On Aug. 6, 2022, the New Orleans native delivered the show of a lifetime when he joined Drake and Nicki Minaj in Toronto for the iconic Young Money Reunion. Together, “The K-I-N-G, the G.O.A.T. [and] the Queen” performed their chart-topping collaborations such as “HYFR,” “Moment 4 Life” and “The Motto.” While on stage, Wayne said he was “working on Tha Carter VI , coming soon.”

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island musician William Starda Perry, known as Starda, has taken his musical talents on the road, performing as the opening act for Lil Wayne, Grammy-Award-winning rapper, singer, songwriter and record executive, at national stops for the Lil’ Wayne Tour.

Starda has appeared onstage at the Nebraska, Iowa and Washington stops of the Lil Wayne Tour and is promoting his upcoming EP, “The Starda Party EP,” with producer, Ron Browz. Starda has been featured on playlists globally with Nems, and hometown favorites, Shyheim and Reakwon.

“It’s an honor to share the stage with some of my biggest musical influences like Lil Wayne, Ludacris, T.I. and so many more,” said Starda. “This is my third international tour within a year and first arena tour. I came a long way from the open mics at the Full Cup.

“I’ve been working in the community for over a decade. I’m excited to show the world what Staten Island has to offer, and appreciate all the support I’ve been getting from my borough. Having a legend like Ron Browz not only produce my project, but be my DJ, and perform his hits on my set is still crazy to me.”

For years, Starda has made a positive impact on Staten Island in a range of ways, from anti-gun violence youth initiatives to finance and career empowerment to supporting and hosting community events.

Starda officially kicked off his rap career with the release of “The Starda Kit, Vol. 1,” in 2022. This six-track project introduced Starda’s motivational style, smooth delivery and deep voice reminiscent of Pop Smoke’s essence.

“We’ve been on the road all year. I’m excited for the world to hear what we have in the works,” he added.

Additional dates of the Starda Party Tour, produced by his record label, Banks and Roses Society in association with The Last American Boy, include:

June — Bangkok with the World League Of Fighters

June 13 — Texas with Ludacris, Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, and Young Joc

July 5 —Texas with T.I., Chingy, Ying Yang Twins and Young Joc

ABOUT WILLIAM STARDA PERRY

Starda, an acclaimed Hip-Hop recording artist, actor, entrepreneur and philanthropist hailing from Staten Island, has independently created more than 100 youth programs across New York City and organized live shows for up-and-coming artists in the tri-state area.

In 2020, with live music events drastically reduced due to COVID-related shutdowns, Perry’s WeJustWorkin LLC event and media production agency took a backseat. In 2021, he partnered with entrepreneur and music producer Philly Diamond to establish the independent music label Banks And Roses Society (B.A.R.S. Productions LLC).

In early 2023, Starda unveiled his second EP named “Swagg Durty and She Love It,” a project focused on women’s empowerment as part of Women’s History Month celebrations. Following the release of the music video for the EP’s lead single “Who You,” Starda collaborated with film director and MCEE, The Last American BBoy.

The Last American BBoy proposed the concept of a series called “Rapper in Thailand” to Starda. This series led to his enlisting BBoy and 2x Boxing World Champion, Shannon Briggs, as guest stars for the series, which led to his first collaboration with recording artist Ron Browz, to produce Starda’s hit single “Hola”.

After receiving his successful stint in Thailand, Starda returned home. A month later, an opportunity arose for his B.A.R.S. Label to independently organize a 5-month promotional tour with Ron Browz across the U.S.

The track “Hola” quickly gained popularity among fans and DJs, being played in major clubs and radio stations across America. Simultaneously, Starda expanded his brand by collaborating with BBoy on various films, earning him credits as an executive producer and leading roles as an actor.

In December 2023, Starda embarked on a solo international tour, spending three months touring Thailand. During this tour, he completed his third EP “Starda Party,” entirely produced by and featuring Ron Browz, and released it in April 2024.

In the spring of 2024, the “Starda Party” tour kicks off in the United States. This time, Starda will grace arenas and festival stages alongside artists like Soulja Boy, Bow Wow, Ludacris and T.I., among others. Additionally, Starda will make appearances on select dates for the Lil Wayne & Friends tour.

Following the release of their latest EP, Banks and Roses Society will unveil the inaugural issue of their Sci-Fi Adventure comic book series, featuring Starda as the lead character named after the label.

Chino Pacas, Gabito Ballesteros Pay Homage to Lil Wayne on Explosive Single ‘Tunechi’

  • By Tomás Mier

Chino Pacas honors one of his rap’s heroes, Lil Wayne , on his new song “Tunechi.” On Friday, the rising corrido star released the collab alongside Gabito Ballesteros , which sees them describing a high-maintenance love interest and name-checking the rap legend in the track’s title and its opening lyrics.

“A pink Rolex/Like tusi and her lipstick,” he sings to start. “A fucking party like Lil Wayne’s/She wants excess, she wants more,” Pacas sings.

Throughout the song, Ballesteros and Pacas exchange verses and drop subtle nods to some of Latin music’s biggest hits, including Peso Pluma’s “Lady Gaga” and Fuerza Régida’s “Sabor Fresa.” They even mention Karol G’s last album in the chorus: “Mañana será bonito si azules se mandan la clika en Paris.”

And Pacas shouts out Drake, who’s been supportive of his burgeoning career: “ Bélico shit like Drake at the whorehouse.”

Pacas, the only Mexican music act to perform at Rolling Loud California this year, has been teasing a new album and even shared a photo of himself smoking a joint in the studio with Peso Pluma late last month. “It’s coming,” he captioned the post with CD emojis.

“Tunechi” marks Pacas’ first single of 2024 and it follows the massive success of his recent music: Last year, he released the Calle 24 collab “Apaga El Cel,” “Elvira” with Oscar Maydon and Ballesteros, and “Qué Onda” with Calle 24 and Fuerza Regida. Meanwhile, Ballesteros dropped “El Boss” with Natanael Cano and reimagined Son By Four’s “A Puro Dolor ” earlier this year.
