Checking the status of your Singapore visa application can be a stressful process, especially if you’re waiting for approval to visit or move to Singapore.

Before you can check the status of your Singapore visa application, you’ll need:

• Your passport number used for the visa application
• The 14-digit Application ID number provided when you submitted your visa application

Step 1: Navigate to ICA Website

The first step is to navigate to the official ICA website . This is the only official website for checking the status of Singapore visas. On the homepage, you’ll see a tab for “e-Services” at the top. Hover over this tab and click on “Visa Application Status Enquiry” from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Select Visa Type

On the Visa Application Status Enquiry page, you’ll need to select the type of visa you applied for from the dropdown menu. Options include Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, Long Term Visit Pass, and more. Choose the visa type that matches the application you submitted.

Step 3: Enter Application ID and Passport Number

After selecting your visa type, you’ll need to enter your 14-digit Application ID number and passport number in the required fields. Double check that you enter these details accurately, as any errors may prevent you from accessing your status. Once entered, click the “Submit” button.

Step 4: Check Status

If your Application ID and passport number were entered correctly, your visa status should now display on the page along with other application details. The status will read either “In-Progress”, “Approved”, or “Rejected” depending on where your visa is in the processing timeline.

If your status shows “Approved”, congratulations! You can go ahead with your plans to visit or move to Singapore. Be sure to thoroughly read any notes associated with your approval.

What If My Visa Was Rejected?

If unfortunately your visa was rejected, the reason for the rejection will be specified. Common reasons include:

SINGAPORE: Singapore has begun reopening its borders to travellers as the country continues its transition to living with COVID-19.

Travellers from more countries  can now serve their stay-home notice at their place of residence instead of a hotel, while visitors from selected countries can enter Singapore via quarantine-free vaccinated travel lanes (VTLs).

With three more VTLs set to open in the coming days, here’s what foreign visitors need to know about entering Singapore via the quarantine-free arrangement.

WHO CAN TRAVEL TO SINGAPORE VIA VTL?

As of Oct 28, Singapore has announced VTLs with 13 countries. Travellers are required to enter Singapore via dedicated flights.

They must have been fully vaccinated with a vaccine under the World Health Organization emergency use listing, at least two weeks before arriving in Singapore. They must also have met the minimum dose interval period for that vaccine if applicable.

Unvaccinated children aged 12 and below in the calendar year are allowed to travel to Singapore via VTL as long as they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated traveller.

Travel lanes with Brunei, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States have already opened. The scheme will be extended to Australia and Switzerland on Nov 8, and to South Korea on Nov 15.

For Australia, two-way travel will initially only apply to fully vaccinated Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate families, due to the country's current border measures.

Under the VTL scheme, travellers must have remained in one or more of the VTL countries in the last 14 days before departure to Singapore.

How do i prove my vaccination status.

In Singapore, residents use the  TraceTogether or  HealthHub apps to prove their vaccination status, so it is important for visitors to get their vaccination records reflected on either of those apps. 

To do that, travellers should present their proof of vaccination to an Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer at immigration clearance on arrival. 

The proof of vaccination should come in the form of an original vaccination document that clearly states the type of vaccine taken and the dates they were taken. The documents must be in English or translated to English by a translation service provider, embassy or notary public.

Upon verification, their vaccination records will then be reflected electronically in TraceTogether or HealthHub.

Because TraceTogether is Singapore's contact tracing app, travellers are required to download it and register with their passport numbers.

The app will allow visitors to enter places like hotels, malls, restaurants and attractions - or any places that are regulated by Singapore’s vaccination-differentiated safe management measures . 

Do note that the vaccinated status granted to visitors is only  valid for 30 days .

Travellers who require vaccinated status for longer than 30 days can visit a private healthcare provider or Public Health Preparedness Clinic to take a serology test. With a positive serology test result, travellers will have their vaccination records added to the National Immunisation Registry, and they will retain their vaccinated status.

WHAT ELSE MUST BE DONE BEFORE DEPARTURE?

Short-term visitors and long-term pass holders travelling to Singapore must apply for a vaccinated travel pass (VTP) between seven and 60 days before they plan to enter the country.

Travellers who require a visa to enter Singapore will have to apply for one beforehand.

All short-term visitors travelling to Singapore via a VTL must have travel insurance with a minimum coverage of S$30,000 against COVID-19-related medical charges. Insurance can be obtained from insurers based in Singapore or overseas.

Although VTL travellers do not undergo quarantine in Singapore, they must still wait for the results of their on-arrival polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test before going about their activities in Singapore.

Therefore, travellers must secure self-isolation accommodation in Singapore to wait for the results, which they should receive within 24 hours. This accommodation can be a place of residence, a hotel or a serviced apartment.

Travellers should register and pre-pay for on-arrival COVID-19 PCR tests . If not, they will have to pay for the tests upon arrival and may face delays in being tested and allowed to leave the airport.

Within three days before arriving in Singapore, travellers should submit an SG Arrival Card with their pre-trip health and travel history declaration.

All travellers except those aged two and under must take a pre-departure PCR test within 48 hours before departure for Singapore. This test must be administered at an accredited or authorised testing facility in the country of departure.

The test report must be in English or be accompanied by an English translation; contain the traveller’s name and either their date of birth or passport number; and show the time and date the test was taken, the name of the testing institution and that the test result was negative.

Travellers should defer their trips if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been diagnosed with or suspected to have contracted COVID-19 in the last 14 days before departing for Singapore.

They should also postpone their travels if they have been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive patient in the last 10 days before departing for Singapore.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I ARRIVE IN SINGAPORE?

After clearing immigration, travellers must head straight to their self-isolation accommodation by private transport, taxi or private-hire cars. They are not allowed to use public transport.

Travellers can only leave their self-isolation accommodation after receiving their negative PCR test result. They will be notified by phone call or email, and they will be able to view their results on the TraceTogether app.

Should a traveller test positive for COVID-19, they will have to receive medical treatment . Prevailing medical treatment charges will apply.

There are no restrictions on their itinerary in Singapore, but travellers must comply with prevailing COVID-19 safe management measures .

Social gatherings are limited to groups of two people under the current Stabilisation Phase , which is expected to last until Nov 21. The rule of two also applies to  dining in at food and beverage outlets  and  outdoor activities .

People should limit themselves to one social gathering a day .

Up to two unique visitors are allowed to visit a household each day. 

A maximum of 1,000 people are currently allowed to attend live performances, MICE events  (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) and sporting events if all attendees are vaccinated.

Attractions , shows, cruises and museums are currently operating at 50 per cent capacity. Tours are capped at 50 people for conveyance tours, such as Duck Tours, and 20 people for non-conveyance tours.

Singapore is an island city-state on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia. Singapore’s green sanctuaries and vibrant cities bustle with state-of-the-art architecture, luxurious resorts, history-rich neighborhoods, lush parks and gardens, beautiful waterfalls, and exciting world-class sites and events. For entry into Singapore, some foreign nationals can enter visa-free, while others are required to obtain a visa. You are advised to apply for a Singapore visa within 30 days prior to your trip to Singapore. Please note that a visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore, as the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) makes final entrance determinations.

Required Documents for Singapore Tourist Visa

The following are the required documents for online application through your local contact or authorized visa agent or strategic partner:.

For applicant:

• A completed visa application Form 14A
• One (1) photocopy of applicant’s biodata passport page, valid for at least 6 months from entry date into Singapore

• taken within last 3 months
• on non-reflective, matte or semi-matte finish paper
• meets ICA requirements

For Singapore local contact or strategic partner (if applicable):

• A completed Form V39A

These are the required documents for your application through the Singapore embassy, consulate or VAC:

• Proof of payment of visa application fee
• One (1) photocopy of your passport biodata page and all passport pages bearing prior travel records
• Return/onward ticket
• Hotel reservations

For local sponsor:

• Photocopy of Singapore ID card

Please be aware that additional documents may be required.

Singapore Tourist Visa Application Steps

Once the required documents have been gathered, make a copy for yourself and apply for your Singapore Visa through the following steps:

Application through Singapore embassy, consulate, or VAC abroad

Complete Singapore Visa application form online, or make a print out of the form and fill it out by hand then sign it. You will have to fill in data regarding your personal information and details about your stay in Singapore.

Submit your Singapore visa application at the nearest Singapore embassy, consulate, or authorized Visa Application Center (VAC).

The processing fees will be collected at the time of submission for each application.

Receive your approved Singapore visa to your email or third-party service provider.

Online Application

If you have a local contact, who is a Singapore citizen or permanent resident, with a “SingPass” account, your local contact can apply online for a Singapore visa on your behalf, via the SAVE system at the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) website. Your local contact can print a copy of your approved e-Visa through the online SAVE system.

Singapore Tourist Visa Fees

The Singapore visa processing fee is $30 and is non-refundable. For e-Service visas, you can make payment online with a major credit/debit card (MasterCard or Visa).

Where to apply for Singapore Visas

Within Singapore: A Singapore national, permanent resident, or authorized strategic partner can apply online on your behalf, via the SAVE system.

Outside Singapore: You can apply for a Singapore entry visa at your nearest Singapore embassy, consulate, or visa authorization center (VAC).

When to apply for Singapore Visas

It is advisable to apply for a Singapore Visa within 30 days of your planned trip to Singapore, as times may vary depending on the individual application. For this reason, we advise you to apply well in advance of your planned trip.

Singapore Tourist Visa Processing Time

Your Singapore visa will be processed within 3 business days, after the day of your application.

For Approved Singapore visa applications

Once the Singapore Visa has been approved, you can legally enter Singapore and stay for the maximum number of days permitted within the visa’s validity period.

For Denied Singapore visa applications

If your Singapore visa application has been rejected, you can appeal within one month of the rejection date to [email protected] .

To process your appeal, the following documents must be submitted:

• Passport copy
• In the case of application through a local contact, a signed letter by local contact requesting ICA to reconsider applicant's visa and reason for reconsideration
• Any supporting documents
• NRIC (National Registration Identity Card) date of issue of the local contact
• Note: Appeal processing times are approximately 14 business days. Times may vary, as each appeal is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Local contacts can track the visa appeal status online.

Singapore Entry Requirements

A Singapore Entry Visa is your pre-permission pass to request entry into Singapore. Once you are approved for a Singapore Visa to travel to Singapore, you must then obtain the permission to enter Singapore. Before ICA can consider you for entry into Singapore, you must meet the following basic requirements:

• A Singapore Entry Visa
• A submitted SG Arrival Card: All travelers are required to submit their health declaration information to ICA, within three days before their arrival in Singapore. You can apply via the SG Arrival Card e-Service or through a “SG Arrival Card” mobile application. Please note that the SG Arrival Card is not a visa or pass to enter Singapore.
• Sufficient funds for your stay
• Confirmed onward airline ticket (if applicable)
• A yellow fever vaccination certificate, if coming from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission (listed here ).
• Proof that you can enter your next destination (visa)

To be permitted entry into Singapore, you must obtain a Singapore Visit Pass. As of 10 October 2021, all foreign nationals arriving to Singapore by air will be emailed a digital Visit Pass (e-Pass), which substitutes a passport entry stamp. Your digital e-Passes will state the maximum duration period you are allowed to stay in Singapore. Please note that the duration stay period of your entry pass is different than the validity period of your entry visa. Some countries may be eligible for Visa-Free Transit Facilities (VFTF), a visa-free 96-hour transit in Singapore. Eligible countries include Georgia, India, China, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

HIGH COMMISSION OF THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATION OF VISA FOR BANGLADESHI NATIONALS

The High Commission of the Republic of Singapore in Dhaka processes visa applications for Bangladeshi Nationals and other foreigners who require a social visa to enter Singapore.

Visitors holding ordinary Bangladeshi passports will need to apply for an entry visa prior to their arrival in Singapore. Holders of Bangladeshi Diplomatic and Official passports are exempted from visa requirements. For other nationals, please visit  www.ica.gov.sg  for details.

Each application for a visa will be considered on its own merits.

A Singapore visa is not an immigration pass. It is a pre-entry permission for the holder of a valid Singapore visa to travel to, and seek entry, into Singapore. The grant of an immigration pass will be determined by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry. Possession of a valid visa alone does not guarantee entry into Singapore.

A holder of a valid Singapore visa who is found suitable for entry into Singapore will be issued with an immigration pass to enter and remain in Singapore. You are advised to check your passport for the arrival visit pass endorsement when in Singapore and take note of the period of stay granted before leaving the checkpoint. The period of stay granted is shown on the visit pass endorsement given on your passport and it is not tied to the validity of your visa.

Application Fee

• Bangladesh Taka equivalent SGD$30/- per Applicant excluding Agent’s Fee.

Processing Time

• The processing time for complete visa applications is  at least 5 working days  (excluding the day of submission). Those who submit incomplete applications or documents may face delays. Some applications may take longer to process, especially during peak periods.

Submission of Visa application

Applications must be submitted on-line through one of the High Commission's Authorised Visa Agents in Dhaka. The list of Authorised Visa Agents is appended below.

Documents Required for Visa Application

• Valid passport with at least six months validity from the date of arrival in Singapore. 
• 1 set of application form, duly completed (Form 14A)
• Letter of Introduction (LOI) to be issued by a local contact in Singapore:
• For Social Visitors, any Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, who is at least 21 years old, can act as a local contact.
• For Business Visitors, a Singapore registered company / organisation can act as a local contact. The LOI must be signed by a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident, who is at least 21 years old, only.
• A recent passport-sized photograph with the following specifications:
• The photograph must be taken within the past 3 months
• Photograph should be in colour, must be taken against a  white background with a Matt or semi-Matt finish
• Image must show the full face and without headgear (headgear worn in accordance with religious or racial customs is  acceptable  but must not hide the facial features)
• The facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown.
• Photocopy of the bio-data page of the applicant's passport.
