Enderal Special Edition Mods For Best Experience

A step-by-step guide for installing compitable and stable modifications designed to improve the gaming experience for Enderal Special Edition. Suitable for the first walkthrough. Mods are split into 4 categories for simpler nagivation: Gameplay, Characters, Visual and Replacers.

   In this guide I made a selection of mods , so you don’t have to rummage through the Nexus yourself in search of decent mods , and then check them for compatibility and stability .

   You can install all mods from this guide if you want to, they are fully compitable and don’t replace each other. I tried to make installation process as clear as possible providing you with all necessary information .

   I’ve also added tags so you can quickly understand which manipulations are needed in order to install mod correctly .

   If you know how to download and install mods for Enderal and also know what load and overwrite order is then you can skip to “Installation Tags” . If not then checkout “Getting Started” .

Getting started

   Now we need utility tool to automatically install mods. You can install any mod manager you want but in this guide I will be using Mod Organizer 2 [www.nexusmods.com] .

   In the FILES section always choose MOD MANAGER DOWNLOAD over MANUAL DOWNLOAD .

   Instal and open Mod Manager 2, choose Enderal Special Edition (SKSE) as your game.

   Some mods have specific .esp files which you have to activate manually in the Plugins section. Nothing special, just press left mouse button in the blank square, if mod is activated then ✓ will appear.

Installation Tags

   All mods in this guide have the same structure , let’s have a look at the example:

• The leftmost tag MOD tied to topmost action tag. When you see tag MOD you have to understand that this mod requires additional mod(s) installation in order to work.
• The tag in the center tied to tag action in the center. When you see tag LOAD you have to understand that this mod requires you to set specific priority for that mod relative to other mods or in general
• The rightmost tag tied to bottommost tag action. When you see tag OVERWRITE you have to understand that this mod requires you to set specific overwrite priority for that mod relative to other mods or in general.
• Download link always leads to Nexus site where you can read more info about the mod and download it.
• Mod description briefly explains what mod does and sometimes gives more specific information about some features.

TAGS DESCRIPTION:

• LOAD – you have to set specific Load Order priority. Load Order list located in the Plugins . Higher the number – higher the priority. E.g. if Enderal SE – Gameplay Overhaul.esp has priority set to 10, then EGO SE – Priests Cure Diseases.esp should must priority set to 11.
• OVERWRITE – you have to set specific Overwrite Order priority. Overvwrite Order is the list on the left. Higher the number – higher the priority. E.g. if Dear Diary mod has priority set to 10, than Dear_Diary_EnderalSE_patch must have priority set to 11.
• MOD – you have to download and install additional mod or patch. Sometimes you have to download from Nexus, sometimes from google docs.
• INFO – provides useful info for that specific mod.
• FIX – optional mod/patch installation which let’s you fix something for that specific mod or other mod.
• VERSION – you have to download specific version of the mod. Usually it just clarifies which mod name you exactly need.
• MANUAL – you can’t simply download this mod from Nexus and install it via Mod Organizer 2. In order to install it you have to follow the instructions tied to that tag.

⠀⠀⠀This mod brings TONS of bugfixes and some minor balance changes.

• Lowest load priority possible (7 by default).

⠀⠀⠀This is a complete overhaul of the gameplay mechanics of Enderal SE. The mod is heavily inspired by older RPG’s (such as Gothic, Kings Field, Baldurs Gate, etc.) and by the Skyrim Mod “Requiem”. ⠀⠀⠀For those who wants to play on the highest difficulty but doesn’t like that crabs have 10mil hp. Now you can kill enemies fast but so do they. It also reworks the AI so it will reacts better, attacks/blocks/uses special attacks more frequently, swaps weapons. Lots of balance changes were made. Also includes Crossbows and updates unique weapons models.

• Higher load priority than Enderal SE – Bug Fixes (if used), lower load priority than Official EGO SE Patches (if used).

⠀⠀⠀Reverts some changes made in the mod above, has separate .esp files for each module. I don’t recommend installing this mod right from the beginning unless you want to make game easier. ⠀⠀⠀The only thing worth mentioning is that it restores relationship messages (“NPCName appreciates that”) and maybe you wan that module at the start.

• Don’t install this mod if you’re not using EGO – SE Enderal Gameplay Overhaul.
• Higher load priority than EGO – SE Enderal Gameplay Overhaul.

⠀⠀⠀Enderal Gameplay Overhaul adds knockdown mechanic to some enemies. So you want your character to get up fast while he is in combat and not as if he slowly gets out of the bed (~x2 animations speed up).

⠀⠀⠀Simplifies some tedious quests where you have to find 10050 pieces of something across entire world by adding markers (same as stones of barenziah markers for Skyrim). Also useful for some achievements.

• Download Enderal Tracking Tool SE mod file.
• Higher load priority than Enderal SE – Bug Fixes (if used), lower load priority than EGO – SE Enderal Gameplay Overhaul (if used).

⠀⠀⠀By default you can’t fast travel in Enderal (only via special service like carriages in Skyrim). This mod re-enable fast travel.

• Higher load priority than EGO – SE Enderal Gameplay Overhaul (if used).

⠀⠀⠀ VioLens – A Killmove Mod which gives you control over both Ranged and Melee Killmoves. Provides more Killmove Customization than ever before, allowing you to pick which Killmoves you’d like to see trigger for each weapon type and then saving/loading those picks using the Profile System.

• Install SE version: JCONTAINERS SE [www.nexusmods.com] .
• Highest load priority.
• Lower overwrite priority than JCONTAINERS SE .

⠀⠀⠀Makes Enderal NPCs much prettier with different face shapes and hair styles. 75+ important NPCs are given a unique look, 500+ NPCs are given KS Hairdo’s Hair.

• Download Enderal NPC Overhaul – SE version mod file.
• Higher overwrite priority than KS Hairdos – Renewal (if used).
• Additional info: Calia NPC model by default will have Short2 (check nexus page) hair variation. If you want to change that you have to go To Data/Meshes/Actors/Character/FaceGenData/FaceGeom/Skyrim.esm/Calia/ Pick the Calia file you want (00018fbe-short.nif for example) Rename it 00018fbe.nif And put it one folder above To DataMeshesActorsCharacterFaceGenDataFaceGeomSkyrim.esm

⠀⠀⠀Skin for female characters. A fine addition to Enderal NPC Overhaul.

• Download Bijin Skin CBBE 2k based mod file.
• Higher overwrite priority than Calente’s Beautiful Bodies Edition -CBBE- (if used).

⠀⠀⠀High quality non-beast male face and body texture replacement coming with different options: hair, dirt, muscle smoothness. A fine addition to Enderal NPC Overhaul. Works for your character as well. Download Tempered Skins for Males – Dressed Version (or Nude Version).

• Download Tempered Skins for Males – Dressed Version mod file.

Same as Enderal NPC Overhaul but for kids.

• Download Kinds of Enderal – SE mod file.

⠀⠀⠀Mod for your character customization. KS Hairdos is a hair pack that contains 883 hairstyles. 792 hairstyles are for females, 91 are for males.

• Lower overwrite priority than Enderal NPC Overhaul (if used).
• if your game crashes or freezes upon entering race menu then install SHOWRACEMENU PRECACHE KILLER [www.nexusmods.com] mod.

⠀⠀⠀CBBE replaces the vanilla female body that all adult female characters (player and NPC) share, with one that is fully customisable through the BodySlide tool and BodySlide’s RaceMenu Morphs plugin. By default there are three nude options available that don’t require anything but installation, as well as three underwear styles for these body shapes.

• Lower overwrite priority than BIJIN Skin UNP And CBBE (if used).

⠀⠀⠀Changes default manly-female grunts to more femine. Replaces voice for: usual attacks, power attack, get damage, death, breath when no stamina etc.

• Don’t download/install files from Nexus.
• Download this archive from google disc [drive.google.com] . Unzip it and put sound folder into the Data folder – steamappscommonEnderal Special EditionData. The final path where .fuz files are stored must look like common/EnderalSpecial/Edition/Data/sound/voice/skyrim.esm/femaleeventoned

⠀⠀⠀For those who likes more “classic” UI. This is the paper interface replacer for all menus. Lots of customization.

• Don’t download/install mod using header link, only use links below. First ~20 minutes of gameplay don’t have a global map.
• Download and install (via mod organizer) DD – PAPER SKYUI MENUS REPLACER SE [www.nexusmods.com] . Download and install (via mod organizer) patch from official Enderal SE discord server – download link [cdn.discordapp.com]
• Dear Diary has lower overwrite priority than Dear_Diary_EnderalSE_patch.

⠀⠀⠀Removes glow on vanilla trees for better ENB visual consistency. No more glowing trees at night.

⠀⠀⠀Makes visual less yellowish and improves picture saturation (changes the lighting of the exteriors).

• Fps loss may vary from 1-2 to 15-20 (depends on PC config, more fps lose on Radeon setup on average).
• Download ENB [enbdev.com] (download link at the bottom of the page)
• Unzip and copy the following files into your Enderal SE folder: d3d11.dll, d3dcompiler_46e.dll (steamappscommonEnderal Special Edition by default)
• Download Simple ENB for Enderal SE [www.nexusmods.com]
• Copy all files into your Enderal SE folder (steamappscommonEnderal Special Edition by default)
• Launch Enderal SE, press Shift + Tab, make sure enbseries.ini -> GLOBAL -> UseEffect is toggled on (✓) – if no then left click on UseEffect.

⠀⠀⠀install map which looks not so bright (but it won’t be paper-style anymore if you’re using DEAR DIARY mod): 1) Download map file [drive.google.com] from the official mod page [steamcommunity.com] 2) Put map file in steamappscommonEnderal Special EditionDataTexturesmap directory. Create folders if needed.

⠀⠀⠀This mod replaces some of the armors present in the game in order to make your journey to Enderal more aesthetically different from Skyrim. Has different modules for different armor sets.

• Correct load priority: Enderal SE – Bug Fixes (if used) Vanilla Armor Replacer SE files (4 .esp files in total if you’ve downloaded all the sets) Enderal SE – Gameplay Overhaul (if used) EGO SE Patches (if used).
• if you’ve installed EGO SE – Enderal Gameplay Overhaul from Gameplay section then you have to install EGO SE – VANILLA ARMOR REPLACER SE [www.nexusmods.com] .

⠀⠀⠀High-quality and lore friendly replacers for many of Enderal’s unique armor sets. No changes in stats.

• Lower overwrite priority than Enderal some CBBE Converions (if used).

⠀⠀⠀This is a conversion of some armors (and clothes like farmers, fine, miner etc) in Enderal for female characters. Author made a bit changes of some part of the armor to be more light 🙂

• Don’t download/install mod using header link, only use links below.
• This mod requires Caliente’s Beautiful Bodies Edition -CBBE, check Characters section of this guide in case you haven’t installed that mod yet.
• Download fully converted archive [drive.google.com] , install it via mod manager.
• Higher overwrite priority than Unique Armor Sets Replacer Enderal SE.

Originally posted by Nerevar : he isnt wrong tough. there is ALOT of stuff hidden in the outside world even setitems that are in non marked areas. youll never find these if you just zap yourself around the map nonstop. the game already has an immersive form of fast travel that can get you around stupid quick already if used correctly. map fast travel is modern cancer that should have never been added to rpgs in the first place. the time is saved argument stands on super thin ice to begin with since if you have little time maybe giant open world games is not something you should play in the first place. they are designed to eat your time in the first place. plus it makes alot of systems in rpgs obsolete to exist aswell. also there is a big advantage to the ingame fast travel methods : you can use them even when youre overweighted. they just come at a price of course. so its fair game. it worked fine in morrowind. it works fine in enderal. it worked fine in the gothic series. map fast travel simply isnt needed at all. remember this isnt casulrim where walking around the worldmap was totally pointless as there was never anything useful to be found to begin with due to the broken crafting systems and leveled vendors. and the gameworld beeing designed for zap fast travel in the first place. in enderal wandering the world may lead to you finding something useful along the way. it really adds to the depth of the world and the gameplay here. the game was designed without map fast travel in mind and you can see that on neat little stuff and details everywhere.
