Between the 12th and 20th centuries, Bali has often been treated as a pawn in the games of kings, rajahs and generals. More often than not, its fate has been closely tied to neighboring Lombok with fierce battles between the two islands over the centuries as different rulers vied for regional dominance. This history of varied occupation can be seen in Bali today, with elements of Hinduism and Islam present in modern Balinese society. However, there is no historical animosity between the religions, or even between the islands of Lombok and Bali.

One of the defining moments in Bali’s history took place in the 16th century when the collapse of the Majapahit dynasty encouraged the spread of Islam from the surrounding states into the Javanese kingdom. Rather than live under Islamic rule, many Hindu elites chose to escape to Bali. These elites included many artists, dancers, musicians, actors and court-supported artisans, as well as some more artistically inclined priests. The result was an intense proliferation of cultural arts across Bali, no doubt inspired by rich Balinese folklore featuring epic battles of good and evil, gods and mortals. This reputation persists today, with many travelers falling in love with the island’s intricate temple carvings, dance performances, colorful sarongs and handicrafts.

When you combine a love of arts with world-class beaches and deliciously fiery sambals, it’s no surprise Bali’s tourism industry is soaring. It’s not unusual for someone to ask you whether this is your second, third or fourth visit to the island. Many locals rely on tourism to some extent, either by working as tour operators or running hotels, yoga studios, massage parlors, bars, cafes or restaurants.

The destination’s popularity with  Australians  means there’s a gradual cultural creep in larger cities like Seminyak, where Melbourne-style cafes and international clothing labels are particularly popular. If you escape the resorts and head further north from Denpasar, you’re more likely to encounter traditional warungs (eateries) and villages untouched by tourism sprawl.

One last word of advice: always watch where you put your feet. Locals will traditionally place small offerings on the footpaths outside their homes or businesses up to three times a day. 83.5% of the population identifies as Hindu and religion plays a large part in Balinese life. In fact, there is a small religious ceremony associated with just about every aspect of Balinese culture, whether it’s the beginning of a soccer game, celebrating the full moon or cleaning the house.

Food and drink

At first glance it might seem difficult to pinpoint Bali’s exact culinary identity. The mishmash of Indonesian and pan-Asian influences means you’re likely to come across menus that sometimes feel part Thai, Malaysian, Indian and Vietnamese. But no matter what you order, the food will always be fresh and bursting with flavor. Dishes are typically made fresh each day, with curries and pastes prepared by hand using traditional methods.

The most authentic food in Bali is usually found streetside at eateries called warungs. Warungs are common in every village and city, and a good place for a quick feed on a budget. Many will specialize in a small menu of popular local dishes.

Top foods to try in Bali

Babi guling:  This is slow cooking Balinese-style. A whole pig is stuffed with chilli, turmeric, ginger, galangal, shallots, garlic, coriander seeds and aromatic leaves and rotated over an open fire. This dish is commonly seen at celebrations.

Satay:  Sometimes spelt ‘sate’ on local menus, Indonesia is famous for its tasty meat skewers (usually chicken) cooked over hot coals and slathered in moreish peanut sauce.

Nasi campur:  Nasi campur feels like a bit of a buffet. Your plate typically comes with a scoop of nasi putih accompanied by small portions of a number of other dishes, including meats, vegetables, peanuts, eggs, and fried-shrimp krupuk.

Nasi goreng:  The old favorite among tertiary students is nothing like the local version. Nasi goreng, literally meaning "fried rice”, is a popular rice dish with pieces of meat and vegetables, and a fried egg added on top.

Sambal:  A fiery paste made using a chili base smashed with secondary ingredients like shrimp paste, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, shallot, scallion, palm sugar, lime juice, and rice vinegar.

Eating vegetarian in Bali

Going vegetarian is relatively easy in Bali as many dishes are already meat-free. Tofu and tempeh are also a standard part of the local diet. Key vegetarian dishes to look out for include nasi saur (rice flavored with toasted coconut and accompanied by tofu, tempeh, vegetables and sometimes egg), urap (steamed vegetables mixed with grated coconut and spices), gado gado (tofu and tempeh mixed with steamed vegetables, boiled egg and peanut sauce) and sayur hijau (leafy green vegetables, usually kangkung – water spinach – flavored with a tomato-chilli sauce).

The abundance of fresh fruits in Bali means you can buy fresh coconuts and juices (or fruity cocktails) almost anywhere you go. If you're looking for something with a bit more punch then you could order a Bintang, the national larger or maybe arak – a local liquor made from fermented rice and coconut palm flowers.

Festivals and events

Many festivals in the Balinese calendar revolve around religious and spiritual occasions marked by periods of prayer or silence, and followed by lots of festivities and feasting. Some festivals might be inconvenient for travelers, such as the Day of Silence, but they’re also a great opportunity to gain an insight into local life that many don’t get to see.

Multiple surf contests are held throughout the year at different times and in different places. Check with local surfing schools for up to date information.

Top festivals in Bali

Nyepi (Day of Silence):  Bali’s major Hindu festival, Nyepi, or the Day of Silence, celebrates the beginning of a new year and is marked by inactivity. Legends say that this is a strategy to convince evil spirits that Bali is uninhabited and therefore not worthy of visiting! Jokes on them. The day involves prayer, meditation and quiet reflection.

Bali Arts Festival:  For an island with a strong history of cultural arts, it’s no surprise the Bali Arts Festival has pride of place in the annual calendar. Based at the Taman Wedhi Budaya arts center in Denpasar, travelers can see village-based dance groups competing for local pride across several traditional dance categories. The date changes each year but is typically held between mid-June to mid-July.

Bali Kite Festival:  From July to October, the skies of southern Bali fill with huge, colorful monsters, critters and imaginative creations. Scores of kites are launched by the locals as part of this special spiritual event. It is believed the kites urge the gods to provide abundant harvests.

Indonesian Independence Day:  Held on 17 August each year, this day celebrates Indonesia's independence from the Dutch in 1945. Expect to see legions of marching school children, flags, kites and fireworks. Don’t expect to get anywhere quickly either on the day or the days leading up to it.

Galungan and Kuningan:  Galungan celebrates the death of a legendary tyrant called Mayadenawa. The celebrations come to a head with the Kuningan festival, which is when the Balinese say thanks and goodbye to the gods. The exact dates of these two festivals vary as they are planned using the 210-day wuku (or Pawukon) calendar.

Geography and environment

Bali is undoubtedly Indonesia’s most popular province thanks to its abundance of beautiful beaches, leafy jungles and impressive mountains. Located just east of Java and west of Lombok, the Bali province includes not only the island of Bali but also a few of the smaller neighboring islands, such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan.

Bali's highest mountain is Mt Agung (3,031 m, 9,944 ft), which is also known as the "Mother Mountain”. One of the other popular volcanoes on the island is Mt Batur. Both of these volcanoes have contributed to Bali’s incredibly fertile soil, which has allowed the rice crop trade to flourish.

Bali is located just 8 degrees south of the equator, which means it enjoys a fairly even climate year-round. The average year-round temperature hovers around 86°F, with a humidity level of about 85%. It's also surrounded by coral reefs and is part of the Coral Triangle, an area with the highest biodiversity of marine species. Over 500 reef-building coral species can be found here, which is seven times the entire Caribbean.

Bali’s problems with environmental pollution are well-documented, and it’s fair to say that the nearly 5.7 million tourists who visit annually are contributing their fair share. In late 2017, Indonesian officials declared a “garbage emergency” after a tide of plastic washed up a 5.8 kilometer (3.6 mile) stretch of coastline. We encourage all travelers to carry a reusable plastic bottle with them, a reusable tote bag for carrying items and to try and minimize their use of plastics wherever possible.

While you’ll find many of the main tourism hubs, like Seminyak and Kuta, filled with international fashion labels, there are also many local boutiques offering a wide variety of hand-made goods. These include traditional wood carvings (and even some famously phallic bottle openers), silver jewelry, colorful sarongs, eco-friendly bags, bamboo satchels, recycled furniture and a near limitless range of body oils and fragrances. Of course, if you’re looking for a traditional ‘I Heart Bali’ t-shirt or Bintang singlet, these are never in short supply either.

Like many parts of South East Asia, bargaining is a big part of the local shopping experience. Getting a good price comes down to how well you can haggle, but it’s important to have fun, bargain in good faith, and remember to smile. You’ll usually find better prices, and more negotiable shop owners, away from the main tourist strips.

Sitting a snug 8 degrees from the equator, Bali’s climate is classic tropics. There’s a dry season and a rainy season, and not a whole lot in between.

The best time for a Bali tour (weather-wise) is the July to August peak season, or from December to the first week of January.

Although if you’d like to avoid the crowds (and why wouldn’t you) shoulder months like April, May, June and September make an excellent alternative.

The weather is dry and slightly less humid, and the island in general is a lot more relaxed.

October isn’t too bad either, especially if you’re into water sports like scuba diving, surfing or snorkeling (the rainfall is much lighter than in November).

Do you need a visa for a Bali tour?

The short answer is maybe – depending on your nationality. Passport holders from over 60 countries (including the   UK ,   Australia   and the   United States ) can enter Indonesia with a free tourist visa on arrival which allows you to stay for 30 days for tourism purposes. An immigration officer will date stamp your passport when you arrive and you will not be able to extend your stay. If you overstay there are hefty fines of IDR 1,000,000 (approximately 70 USD) per day.

If there's a chance you might want to stay longer than 30 days, you'll need to pay for a visa on arrival or apply for one prior to traveling at an overseas Indonesian consulate or embassy.

To enter Bali, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

• proof of onward or return ticket
• proof of funds to pay for your expenses during your trip
• completed immigration card (this will usually be given to you on the plane or at the arrival terminal)

Local laws require that you must be able to show your valid passport at any time when required to do so by an immigration office. We recommend taking a clear photocopy of your passport photo page, and visa (after arriving), to carry with you.

Should I tip on a Bali tour?

Tipping isn’t compulsory in Bali, or anywhere else in Indonesia. But, like most countries, it’s very much appreciated.

Remember that many Balinese rely on tourism as a main source of income, and a tip is always appreciated.

What is the internet access like in Bali?

In tourist centers like Kuta, Seminyak, Denpasar, and Lovina internet access should be fine, and there will be plenty of internet cafes (or cafes with free internet) to choose from if your Wi-Fi isn’t up to scratch.

In more rural areas, there could be little or no coverage, particularly during homestays. Just remember to plan ahead. 

What are the toilets like in Bali?

Restaurants and hotels in developed tourist centers will have Western-style flush toilets.

In more rural areas the traditional squat toilet will be more common.

We recommend packing a bottle of hand sanitizer if you plan to visit rural parts of Bali.

Can I drink the water on a Bali tour?

Drinking water from taps isn’t recommended in Indonesia, but for environmental reasons try to avoid buying bottled water every day. There are a number of filtered canteens you can purchase or bring a supply of water filtration tablets that you can drop into your bottle wherever you go.

Are credit cards accepted widely in Bali?

Major credit cards are widely accepted by large shops, hotels and restaurants in Bali.

T hey may not be accepted by smaller vendors such as small family restaurants, market stalls or in remote towns and rural areas.

Make sure you carry enough cash for purchases since credit cards aren't always an option everywhere in Bali.

What is ATM access like in Indonesia?

ATMs are found widely throughout Bali, so withdrawing cash shouldn't be problematic in most areas. Some smaller villages and rural areas may not have ATM access, so be prepared for this before venturing too far from a city or major town.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance before traveling?

Absolutely. All passengers traveling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

LGBTQIA+ travel in Bali

Homosexuality is legal in most of Indonesia, however, revisions to Indonesia’s criminal code are currently being considered that would criminalize gay sex and same-sex relationships. Advocacy groups fear this would represent a profound setback to human rights in Indonesia as a result. The LGBTQIA+ community has also been known to be targeted and harassed by police.

Bali, with its Hindu majority, has always been more liberal, tolerant and relaxed in attitude, however, public displays of affection are still not the norm for any couples anywhere in the country. Upscale hotels will likely not have any issues with same-sex travelers sharing a bed, however, if you are staying in budget or family-run businesses and are allocated separate beds, you might feel more comfortable not drawing attention to your relationship. 

Because sex, in general, is a taboo subject in Indonesian society, the issue of sexuality is unlikely to arise while traveling here. Indonesia is generally safe for LGBTQIA+ travelers, provided you are willing to be discreet and cautious with public behavior.

We had a good relationship with our Zicasso travel agent, who helped to organize our dream trip to Japan. The trip itself was lovely. The accommodations were top-notch and our agent created a customized itinerary that accommodated our special requests to attend a baseball game, overnight at a Zen monastery, and visit a tea farm. The only downside was that once we were in Japan, our main contact ended up being another outfit, one that organizes tours for countless tourists each year. As a result, we didn't have consistent contact with our tour operator. It was only possible to reach their representatives via email or by using roaming to call them on ($$$). It would have been better to be able to reach reps and local guides via text message or WhatsApp. The information provided by the in-country tour company hadn't been updated since before the Covid-19 pandemic. It consisted of a series of PDF files with hyperlinks that weren't live, so you couldn't simply click for more information. It left a less-than-luxurious impression. Nevertheless, the trip was still spectacular and we had a great time.

Overall, Zicasso’s travel company did a pretty good job of planning the trip. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The spacing of the events on the itinerary was well-balanced, with a good mix of activities and free time! The South Korea portion of our trip was flawless, with excellent guides and events planned for each day. Our local tour guides knew to change the itinerary when they noticed there was a chance to optimize timing for certain events to avoid crowds or that we were doing too many activities that were similar, which was excellent! One point of feedback: Key transfers were missed (eg, We were expected to find our own way out of Hakone to get to the train station to Tokyo, only to find out the night before that taxis were refusing to come out to our hotel for fares because it was too far, and the hotel didn’t offer any good solutions. The moment I spoke with Jasmine from the travel agency for the first time, I knew that I was going to work with somebody who would understand my interests. Afterwards, every day, I was picked up by assigned guides and drivers who I felt safe with and could trust for that day. I learned so much about Indonesia, its history, and its cultures. All the guides were friendly and very informative, making sure I felt comfortable. They even asked me questions about America, my culture, and my philosophy. The team made sure I got to every site and made sure I was safe throughout the trip. Even all the hotels and resort areas I stayed in were amazing, clean, and beautiful. Overall, I highly, highly recommend this travel company to everyone who wants to visit Indonesia. I was heard by them, I felt safe with them, and I was able to trust them. My personal experience and review of the 9- and 12-day INTRO Travel Bali tour

I’ve actually been on three different INTRO Travel tours in Bali, including the 9-day and 12-day Intro tours. INTRO Travel actually offers six different types of Bali/Indonesia tours, and the Intro version is best for first-time visitors, in my opinion. It covers all the highlights in a short amount of time.

This tour was a bit of a surprise for me, and I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. It’s not the cheapest, and I wouldn’t recommend it if your budget is very tight, but there’s a reason why INTRO Travel is such a well-known tour company – they know what they’re doing.

The first time I went on a Bali Intro tour was in 2019, and then I did the 12-day version again years later, in 2023. My experiences for both tours were actually quite similar, so the quality seems to be consistent over the years.

2. Nightlife

This is a tour designed for young people and backpackers, so I appreciated the amount of nights out and nightlife that was included. If you’re hoping to have drinks with new friends and dance the night away, you’ll love this tour

3. Quality of activities

The types of activities were fantastic, and even though the itinerary wasn’t always jam-packed, there was a nice balance of free time and things to do. I loved that you get to see the dolphins in Lovina on this tour, which most other Bali group tours don’t do.

4. Two different durations

I liked that INTRO Travel offers two different types of tour durations, so you can decide which one is right for you. My top tip is that it’s sometimes even possible to extend your tour spontaneously if there are spots left. That way, you can stay longer if you’ve got a fun group that you don’t want to part with just yet.

5. Reputation of operator

Finally, I recommend choosing this tour, because it’s organised by such a renowned tour operator with years of experience and a great reputation. This tour is rarely cancelled due to lack of interest or only half-booked, so you’re guaranteed to have a fun group of people ready to party and travel.

I’ve been on group tours before where we ended up only being six or seven people instead of the planned 15 to 20, which can be a bit of a disappointment if you’re hoping to meet people in Bali .

When you book through them, you can be sure you’re getting the best price, and they often even have exclusive discounts. Here is the itinerary for the 9- or 12-day Bali INTRO tours.

Day 1: Arrive in Denpasar, meet at the airport and head to Canggu hotel. Day 2 : Explore ancient temples and watch sunsets on the beach in Canggu; party at night. Day 3: Surf in Canggu with local instructors. Day 4: Explore temples and a waterfall before arriving in Lovina, stay in unique mountain accommodation. Day 5: Watch wild dolphins, learn basket weaving, and relax by the luxury villa pool. Day 6: Catch a ferry to Gili T Island and enjoy a free afternoon. Day 7: Explore Gili T by bike and take a photo on the iconic ocean swing. Day 8: Snorkel and explore all three Gili Islands by boat. Day 9: Travel back to the mainland by ferry and head to Ubud. Day 10: Visit the famous Monkey Forest in Ubud. Day 11: Embark on a sunrise trek with a local guide to Mount Batur, and enjoy breakfast with a view, unwind with a Balinese massage. Intro Travel is a very popular tour company, and their prices are definitely steep. In fact, their tours are among the most expensive Bali group tours out there at $108 US or $116 US per day. Luckily, Tour Radar often runs discounts and offers, so double-check to see if you can get a better price .

That’s definitely a lot of money for Bali, and, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed by the quality of accommodation considering the high price.

You’re definitely paying for the years of expertise of this tour company and their considerable experience in Bali.

Was the Bali INTRO Travel tour worth it for the price? Yes, definitely. But is it much worse than other, more affordable tours like Wanderlands or Bali Experience? I wouldn’t say so.

I think it comes down to what type of traveller you are, and if you’re looking to meet new friends and party in Bali, this tour will be the perfect choice. I’ve never been on a bad INTRO Travel tour, so they’re definitely the safe choice when it comes to organised tours in Bali – but more on that later in the review.

In total, I spent around €400 for food, drinks and additional activities on the tour.

Summary: This tour is not the cheapest, but the price is worth it, in my opinion.

Review of the Bali INTRO Travel tour activities

This tour doesn’t have a ton of activities, but the ones that are included were incredible and really high-quality. The dolphin tour, especially, really made me happy, especially because both times, INTRO Travel organised a tour guide that did not chase the dolphins and allowed us to see them away from the crowds in a quiet corner. I’ve been on several dolphin tours in Lovina, and some definitely border on animal cruelty, so this is a big reason why my review of the Bali INTRO Travel tour is so positive.

Most other organised tours of Bali have very basic and similar activities, but INTRO stood out to me because of not only the dolphins but also the visit to a local Balinese family as well as the basket weaving workshop. These gave this tour a more cultural side, so it’s not just about partying.

In my opinion, the balance of both was done very nicely, especially if you do the 12-day tour and also hike Mount Batur at sunrise.

However, the second time I did this tour, I found myself a bit bored at times, as the itinerary included quite a lot of free time. I wish they had added maybe one or two more activities to justify the high price. On my first tour, we ended up organising a lot of things to do on our free afternoons as a group, but the second time around it was mostly hanging out at the hotel, which was fine but got a bit old after a while.

Summary: The activities included in this tour are very fun and well-chosen, but I wish there were a few more of them and not so much free time.

The two INTRO Travel tours I joined were very nightlife-heavy and focused on partying. I guess that depends a lot on the people in your group, but at least in my experience, the guides were encouraging to go out quite a bit.

If that is not something you enjoy or want your Bali tour to be about, I’m not sure if I would recommend this tour to you. Of course, it’s not all about partying and drinking, but there were definitely quite a few nights out, especially in Canggu and Gili T.

Lovina was very quiet, of course, but our group ended up even going out in Ubud, which is usually a quieter destination.

I personally loved it, and it made our group a lot closer much quicker, but I can see that it’s not for everyone.

Summary: There is a good balance of culture and nightlife, but expect a lot of partying and drinking on this tour.

This is a tour meant for backpackers and young people, with an average age of 18 to 39. Most people in my groups were towards the younger end, mostly ranging from 18 to 23.

Many came in pairs, but there were also quite a few solo travellers, so don’t worry if you’re booking it alone. You’ll find new best friends on your first day. In fact, I still keep in touch with many people from our tours, and some even came to visit me in Bali again years later.

This tour is meant to forge and encourage friendships, so if you don’t want to travel alone, it’s perfect.

Summary: There are mostly young people on this tour, and it’s easy to make friends.

I’ve never had a bad INTRO Travel guide, they’ve always been incredible fun, open and outgoing. You’ll have a mixture of foreign and local guides, with at least one person to accompany you for the entire duration of the tour.

These guides are more than just babysitters, though. They are young and truly part of the group and become very close to the travellers. I felt like they were having fun and not just doing their job.

Having been a part of dozens of these group tours, I’ve noticed that a lot of guides get burnt out quickly, which can impact the quality of the experience and vibe of the whole group. But with INTRO Travel, the guides were exceptional and always up for a night out or activities outside of the planned Bali itinerary, which impacted my review a lot.

They were also very experienced and could help solve all types of problems. I felt like they truly knew and appreciated Bali and could teach the group a lot, as well as answer any questions.

Summary: Fantastic guides who were young, fun and very knowledgeable.

Flexibility, pace and free time

This tour is either 9 or 12 days long, covering Canggu, Lovina, Gili T, and Ubud with Mount Batur (if you book the longer version). I was pretty happy with the pace, although, as I mentioned, there was a bit too much free time for my personal preference.

But this tour is definitely not as rushed as some others I’ve experienced, where you feel as though you spend half your time in buses, boats or planes.

Again, I would have appreciated maybe one or two more activities, but other than that, I thought the itinerary and pace were pretty perfect. You also have to remember that you’ll be going out a lot in the evening, so some of the free time is needed to recover from late nights.

Some people on our tour who weren’t drinking very much were a bit bored at times for this reason.

Summary: Fantastic itinerary, but a bit too much free time.

Accommodation

The hotels chosen by Intro Travel aren’t always the same and tend to change from trip to trip. However, they frequently include multi-share rooms, which will be far less comfortable than the twin rooms that most other tours offer.

It’s difficult to upgrade the accommodation to private and in most cases not possible. Considering the high price of this tour, the hotels were definitely not the best.

I felt like the quality somewhat declined throughout the trip, which was a bit disappointing.

Generally, the hotels weren’t terrible, but for the price, I was expecting something slightly nicer, especially because I’ve stayed in much better accommodations in Ubud or Gili T with cheaper tours in the past.

Definitely adjust your expectations.

Summary: Accommodation was not the best considering the price of the tour.

Generally, most places you’ll eat on this tour will be preplanned, and there won’t be a ton of freedom when it comes to choosing restaurants. Luckily, INTRO Travel did a very good job in choosing the places we ate at, and I was pretty happy overall.

I’m a vegetarian, and the tour leaders did a great job in helping communicate this when we had pre-ordered food and I never felt like I was stuck eating sides.

On free days, we usually got to choose where we ate, and most of our group stuck together, which was nice. The price per meal was usually approximately IDR 30,000 to IDR 80,000, not including drinks.

Summary: Great food options and restaurants, even as a vegetarian.

INTRO Travel as a company

Another reason why I personally like to support INTRO Travel as a company is because of their sustainability practices as a company. They commit to planting ten trees for every booking, which is a fantastic start.

They also advertise their tours as being 100% carbon-neutral, which I love. They work closely with local communities and operators around the world, and it’s easy to see that they at least try to do some good.

It’s not always straightforward to consider sustainability and the impact on local communities when it comes to travel companies, but INTRO Travel is one of the better choices out there.

Who would love INTRO Travel’s Bali tours

This review of the Bali INTRO Travel tours is written by someone who has been on dozens of organised group tours, especially in Bali and South East Asia in general. But my opinions and travel style could be very different from yours. I think that someone who hasn’t been to Bali before and hasn’t travelled a lot in South East Asia would love this tour. More experienced travellers might be better off organising their own trip and saving some money.

I would recommend this tour to those who don’t want to travel alone and want travel buddies and new friends for their entire trip. I would recommend it to travellers who like a night out but also want to get to know some of Bali’s culture and stunning landscapes.

Should you choose the 9- or 12-day INTRO Travel Bali tour?

While I usually recommend the longer tour option, in the case of Intro Travels, the 9-day tour is enough, in my opinion, if you’re looking to save some money. You’ll miss out on Ubud and Mount Batur but can still enjoy plenty of things to do before that.

If the budget is not a big concern, definitely extend to 12 days , but don’t think that the 9-day tour is any less fun.

INTRO Travel’s tours are made for young people, so most participants are between the ages of 18 and 25.

INTRO Travel’s tours are definitely among the more expensive options, but there is a lot of value for money provided.

One of my best travel experiences so far, I consider the Bali trip as a lifetime memory. Firstly, I was able to cover an international destination in an affordable budget. On my trip to Bali, I came across such beautiful places and even more beautiful experiences that left me wanting for more. Thanks to a well-charted Bali tour itinerary by team TravelTriangle, I had a great time in Bali. On my first day of outing, I tried my hand on scuba diving and jet skiing. It was altogether a wonderful experience for me. Apart from that, I loved shopping in Bali.On the streets of Seminyak, I came across a number of stalls that sold exquisite designer wear, colorful accessories, exquisite handicrafts and what not! I also carried a pouch of authentic coffee beans back home. I was able to shop to my heart’s content that too without burning a hole in my pocket. But I missed out on Banana boat rides. Some of the best measures one must take while traveling to Bali during the pandemic are:

• One must carry a COVID-19 negative certificate at all times
• Make all hotel bookings in advance and ensure that you have a copy of the same
• Ensure that you wear a mask at all time when traveling
• Maintain social distancing and avoid going to crowded places
• Keep a sanitizer handy at all times and ensure that the rooms are well-sanitized and hygienic.

Bali is an incredibly safe place to backpack and travel — even if you’re traveling solo (and even as a solo female traveler). But it is always good to protect one’s safety, especially during solo trips. A Bali holiday package must solve all your problems but safety is still in your own hand. However, certain rules must be universally followed, irrespective of travelling in a group or on your own -

• Bali is a peaceful country. Hence, violent attacks are absent or rare. Make sure to keep your money and belongings safe.

• Don’t overindulge with monkeys since they can bite and might cause infections.
• While going on a trek or hike make sure to be accompanied by a local travel guide.
• Keep your valuables close and safe not just from the pickpockets but also from monkeys
