TaylorMade launches Ghost Tour Black Series putters

TaylorMade’s new Ghost Tour Black Series putters are available in four familiar head shapes — Daytona, Indy, Maranello and Monte Carlo — but they’re noticeably different from their Ghost Tour predecessors.

Aside from the obvious change (the new putters are black, not white), the Ghost Tour Black putters also have a new insert.

The new insert is made from aluminum instead of polymer.

The new 13-gram, deep-milled 6061 aluminum insert is designed with a rough surface, which TaylorMade says will dampen sound, enhance feedback and encourage a smoother roll off the face compared to previous models.

All models are made from 304 Stainless Steel, with a head weight of 355 grams.

Aesthetically, the sole design is “race-inspired,” with what looks to be a checkered flag design on the toe portion of the glossy sole.

TaylorMade’s Monte Carlo model, which uses a face-balanced design and a single-bend neck.

A PVD-coated black finish was used on top of the putter to reduce glare, and at address, a single white line on the trailing edge contrasts with the dark finish to help golfers keep a sharp eye on their alignment.

Just got one from Jamgolf inGuernsey. 75£ transport included. Looks as neat as my old Scotty for a third of the price and I needed something with more bang than my recent Odyssey XG7 and its very soft insert… We’ll see if it stays in the bag for the summer but for now it is a very good buy. As always with Taylor the headcover is awful -not as bad as the R15- and you really wonder if they subcontract a factory making ski mittens and sex toys as well as headcovers… and the grip quite average. Big differences to Odyssey. But the black color has sorted out the ugly problems the white paint finish had. Apart from that it is a wonderfully balanced club, with a very true roll. Look is perfect, sound is perfect.

I’ve been looking for a new putter for a couple years now, hitting putts with everything whenever I walk into a shop. I knew almost right away after hitting this putter (the Daytona shape, to be exact) that it was the right one. Bought it today and played 18 with it right afterward. The insert feels incredible (very soft off the face (I hate that plasticky sound that some putters with inserts have), and plenty of feedback for an off-center hit). The roll is really true. Distance control inside of 25 ft was outstanding, although I need some practice with it on the long lag putts. I’m not a new club junkie, but I’m very happy with this purchase.

UHmm didn’t they name it “Ghost” because when it came out it was white , which was ground-breaking tech. Wasn’t white supposed to be a better optic and help make more putts? I’m starting to think that they are just making stuff up.

Tm has not made a putter this nice since 2008. Don’t hate. If you don’t like it dont buy it but I still play the 2007 Daytona with and betti and a Scotty on the bench. Love to see they are moving away from the synthetic insert. I will get one.

Kind of wish TM would come out with a high end putter…something that would be in the same class as Cameron, Bettinardi, etc…Something heavier with some unique characteristics. Most of their putters just kind of have that “dime a dozen” feel to them.

I guess all they would need to do is slap a TP logo on the putter and all of us would say “OOOOOHHHH AAHHHHH, This putter is worth $450 dollars!”

Agreed, although the ‘Spider’ series is aimed at the ‘higher-end’…

What I don’t get is the inconsistency in adjustability, I LOVE my ‘2013’ DA-12 Raylor Ghost 34″with the adjustable weights and SS ‘Flatso’ added for good measure (I have 2 ‘customized’ the same in case of nuclear war, etc.)

My only beef is I would likely prefer black as well, as the white finish seems to chip easily.

Accra launches new GX wood and hybrid shafts

Accra Golf shafts have long been synonymous with fitting, and the new GX line of driver, fairway, and hybrid shafts continues that legacy.

Since 2004, Accra has been making high-end performance golf shafts that use the latest in materials and design philosophy. Their group of around 350 fitters are some of the best and most highly ranked in the world. While you might see other brands on professional tours more often, there are plenty of touring pros using Accra products and winning.

Accra’s new GX line of shafts is designed to offer a consistent and accurate shaft to a wide range of players. The GX line consists of 3 different shafts in driver, fairway, and hybrid designs.

The Accra GX shafts are designed for fitters to dial in golfers to the perfect shaft for their swing. Accra included a ton of technology into the GX line including their S3 profiling, DyMatch, and Constant Flex technology. DyMatch has been Accra’s quest to ensure that all shafts in a family feel and perform similar from driver to hybrid or iron shaft. Typically shafts get stiffer as they go up in weight, but Accra’s Constant Flex keeps the flex of the shafts consistent so fitters and golfers can dial in the weight that the golfer need without have to work around a stiffer or softer flex. Accra worked with Cool Clubs to build out its S3 Shaft Profiling system that not only allows a quick and easy EI profile of any shaft, it helps with quality control to ensure shafts come out of production exactly as they were designed.

Accra GX Red 300 Series

GX Red is lowest launching and spinning option in the GX line. Driver shafts have fewer options with just the 360 and 370 models that come in at 63 and 71 grams. The GX Red is made for faster swinging, or stronger, players who require a stiff (M4) or x-stiff (M5) shaft for their swing. Fairway and hybrid models are also on the higher weight side with the fairway clocking in at 80g and 90g for the hybrid. Accra designed this series with one of the stiffest tip sections of any Accra shaft in the current line, and while it is built to control launch and spin, the Red 300 Series will still offer that smooth feel.

Accra GX Green 100 Series

If your swing usually works best with mid-launch and spin, then the GX Green 200 series might be the right shaft for you. Offered in more weight and flex options, you can get a GX Green in 52 grams and all the way up to 70 grams in regular, stiff, and x-stiff flexes. GX Green will give the player a smooth feel and transition from the handle down to the tip section while still providing great stability and consistency. Accra also focused on the energy transfer of this shaft, and golfers can see some increased ball speed compared to other shafts.

Accra GX Blue 200 Series

While the GX Blue 100 Series is the highest launching and spinning option in the GX lineup, it will still give golfers the control and consistency they need. Starting off at 40g, the GX Blue series puts an emphasis on lighter weight to allow players to swing the club faster, promoting more distance. Accra touts the stability of the GX 140 Blue driver shaft by stating that some long driver competitors have put it in play to try and gain every MPH they can. Matching fairway and hybrid shafts are both on the lighter side at around 60g for the fairway and 65g for the hybrid depending on the flex.

Keen to offer a putter for every taste, TaylorMade has released four new heads in a stunning black PVD finish to make up the TaylorMade Ghost Tour Black putter range.

The new putters  are made-up of TaylorMade’s four most popular styles, the Daytona and Indy are blades that feature different hosel designs to suit different preferences, while the Maranello and Monte Carlo are mid-mallets that offer a little more stability.

All four TaylorMade Ghost Tour Black putters are finished in a sleek PVD coating that reduces glare so you are less distracted over putts on sunny days.

They also all feature a simple white sightline that contrasts the head to make lining up your putts more accurately easier.

The new soft, deep milled aluminium insert (seen below) is designed to provide responsive feel off the face and a smoother roll to give you better distance control on the greens.

The 355g TaylorMade Ghost Tour Black models join  TaylorMade's counterbalanced Daddy Long Legs, Spider Blade and Spider Mallet 2.0 putters  that were released last year, which feature tungsten heel and toe weights with a moment of inertia of more than 8,500 (Daddy Long Legs) and 5,200 (Spider Blade) to help them resist twisting at impact for more consistent distance control on off-center hits.

The long-anticipated Aerosmith "Peace Out: Farewell Tour" is back after a postponement due to a vocal injury to Steven Tyler, the lead singer.

Aerosmith announced new tour dates on April 10, and the "Peace Out" tour, featuring The Black Crowes, will rock the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Jan. 16, 2025, towards the end of tour dates. The tour begins on Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and concludes on Feb. 26, 2025, in Buffalo, New York.

The tour, which kicked off in September 2023, was postponed due to a vocal injury experienced by lead singer. The band posted on Instagram on Sept. 29, 2023, telling fans shows wouldn't continue until 2024.

The band posted again on April 10 revealing new tour dates.  "All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows – you’ll receive more info via email. Tickets for the rescheduled dates & newly added shows go on sale Fri 4/12 @ 10AM local at aerosmith.com," according to the caption.
