Went to his Orchestra on Nov 1 in Paris. Mind blowing event with all the hits getting a new life. I only wish he started a little earlier because I had to go home before the end and regret missing some of the epic hits :(

Bought his T-shirt and enjoyed it 10/10.

I have seen Worakls for the first time in Nice and was one of the best experience of my life. Orchestra was amazing and location is perfect for musical events.

It was the first live performance of Worakls for me and the concept of boat party&moving dancefloor with so many different people having fun on a hot summer day was mind-blowing. It's kinda difficult to write

about it since some moments don't need to be described, but I enjoyed every song, especially Salzburg (my favorite), Question reponse and Porto and can't wait to attend the next concert.

Worakls is back in the USA for a series of live performances this winter

worakls us tour

Famous for his countless electro-melodic releases and his vibrant live shows, Worakls is back in the USA for a series of live performances this winter. Launching January 14 with a series of shows in San Diego and Denver, the artist will make his way across the country and back with notable gigs in Chicago, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

A composer above all, Worakls writes with the orchestra in mind and presents his music only in a live context, not as a DJ set.

In fact, the artist has also embarked on full orchestra tours where he is personally conducting the live orchestra and is writing out the musical notes for each instrument. Have a look at Worakls 2019 Cercle performance for a good example of what the orchestral performance looks like.

While the USA winter tour will not feature the full orchestra experience ( Worakls is hoping to bring this over soon), the tour will still be live and highly improvisational. Those in attendance will experience live interpretations of music throughout the artist’s career – check out Worakls music releases here .

Artist Spotlight

Striking the perfect balance between the codified classics and what’s en vogue can be a test for any artist. For French-born DJ, producer, and composer Kevin Rodrigues—aka Worakls (pronounced “warrackles”)—that challenge comes in an even more literal form. With inspirations from German composer Hans Zimmer to dubstep maestro Skrillex, Worakls combines the vivacity of classical orchestral concertos with the ethereality of modern, minimal techno. Worakls built his career on this unique musical amalgamation that has captivated audiences worldwide. He grew up in a family of musicians. His father, a self-taught guitarist, motivated his musical path – enrolling Worakls in piano lessons at the age of three and conservatory at the age of six. “Conservatory was so different. Much stricter,” he says. “Even the first year I went there, they told me, ‘No, you’re not going to touch a piano for one or two years.’ But I was already able to play the piano. So, for me, it was weird – and I didn’t stay there for a long time. Formal lessons lasted until the age of 12, giving way to more typical pre-teen musical pursuits: garage bands, metal music, and, later, nightlife.  “At first, I fell in love with harder style, hard stuff. I was getting out a teenage passion for metal music and those things. I loved it because it was full of energy,” he says. “Later, I fell in love with the [club] community as well. Going into the club and seeing people dressing in a different way than they would dress in the streets. I found it very interesting. So, I started to go clubbing every weekend, and eventually I even got a job at the club because I needed money to pay the entrance fees.” “One weekend, I saw Eric Prydz play,” Worakls says, reflecting on a formative set at Redlight, the Paris club where he worked. Whereas other DJs tended to spin mostly chart-toppers, Prydz, he says, constructed an entirely new world out of his original tracks. “First of all, I thought, this guy is incredibly talented. And second, Prydz brings us into his world. He’s not just playing tracks that we already know by heart. He plays his own stuff.” At this moment, Worakls knew he was destined for a career in electronic dance music. “That was the beginning of a very nice adventure.” That adventure has led Worakls to the leading edge of sonic experimentation in EDM. But blending digital sounds with classical instrumentation posed a challenge all its own and forced Worakls to relearn the intricacy of composition altogether. “I think like a pianist,” he says. “Writing for guitars, basses, drums, et cetera, taught me a lot of things. When I decided that I wanted to bring orchestral and classical instruments into my music, I had to learn again, how to do it. Some instruments are very specific. You can’t blow in a trumpet for hours, for example, the guy has to breathe – those are the details I had to learn.” That adventure has led Worakls on several tours throughout the U.S. and Europe. One of his most prolific was his 2019 Orchestra tour. He composed the score for a chamber orchestra consisting of violinists, cellists, percussionists, and an ensemble of brass and woodwinds players with, of course, Worakls conducting at the helm on keyboard and mixer.  His studio album “Orchestra” was the inspiration. In venues and amphitheaters in cities including Geneva, Lyon, and his thrilling Cercle debut at Château La Coste orchestral harmonies floated overtop of vibrant, expressive electronic melodies. “That tour is the ultimate version of my life. I want to do it, like, every day. That’s my goal: to only do live shows with the orchestra,” he says. “I like solo shows, but it’s not the same. Once you taste the show with the filmography, lights, it’s like defending something, really. Like a movie. Like a book. It’s a whole project. It’s not just like going to a club. You are presenting something, like, ‘Here’s what I did for the past three years.’” “Of course, it’s a show. So,you need sometimes to have, let’s say, beautiful string parts overlapped with a big drop of only electronic music. And you have to find the right balance to surprise your crowd and keep them interested.”  Balance was something that took him years to perfect. It remains an ongoing test for any live show he plays, even in a club environment. “You know what is hard? When you bring an instrument on stage, you don’t know where to put the filler. You don’t know if you want to have more electronic music or classical instrumentation. A lot of these guys just want to go to a club and dance. Some others want to have a concert. So, you have to find the right balance between the two. And, of course, I didn’t find that right away. I worked for that.” Worakls learned from his first tour how to create a perfectly harmonious experience. And plans are already in the works for a 2.0 version of his Orchestra tour.  “Electronic with a full orchestra?” questioned one YouTube commenter. “This may be one of the greatest collaborations of all time.”

Let’s Talk About: Worakls

Being in the industry for more than 13 years and having spaced from electronic to orchestral music, worakls is one of that unique artist that does not go unnoticed.

Born in 1988, Kevin Rodrigues , better known as  Worakls is a French DJ and electronic musician. With a huge musical background (he started to play piano at the age of 3) he decided it was time to focus on electronic music. With more than 13 years of activity, Worakls has found his spot in the “electronic music global league” performing on the biggest festivals, stages, and venues around the world.

Recently Worakls also presented two remixes by Rodriguez Jr. & Booka Shade of  Nikki  and  Entrudo for the celebration of the 2nd anniversary of his 2019 Orchestra album.

With a forced pause from touring due to the pandemic situation, we have reached him out for an interview about Worakls past, present, and future. Here is what he told us:

Hi Kevin, first of all, thanks for e-meeting us. Let’s start from the beginning. From the conservatory to electronic music. How everything started and how your interest has shifted over time to electronic music?

Hey, thanks to you guys! When I was around 18 I started to club and when I saw what Eric Prydz could do with electronic music it made me want to try it as well!

Your music is highly influenced by classical sounds and instruments and it’s has been described by Billboard as “serious techno with a light touch.” Do you have a specific workflow when creating your tune or, when something comes to mind you start to write it down and see what happens?

Worakls live on stage

You know, I think all composers are inspired by music. It just happens that my influences are mostly classical music and film music … and also techno! Haha. So I don’t really ask myself why should I use a synth here or a cello there… it just happens, that’s my natural way of composing music …

Your first release came out in the form of Unity EP in 2008; 13 years later we can say your music has evolved a lot. How would you define this process and how and why sounds have shifted from minimal raw techno to something more chill and ambient in some cases?

When I started I was really into minimal music and I actually still love it but it’s true that, with time, I calmed a lot this “clubbing” vibe and looked more into a concert one! I can’t really explain it but I guess my music evolves naturally with my tastes.

In 2019 you release your first (and only) studio album Orchestra. How the idea was born and what it means to you?

I wanted to add an orchestra to my shows for a long time but I thought that this was the perfect opportunity to do it. Releasing an album on which I could add more orchestral music than before sounded like a good move to send the message that it was my direction now! For me, it’s just lore options. I still have all the electronic toys, I just added some orchestral ones to it!

Worakls live on stage

You seem to have a big musical background. Do you like to experiment in the studio and have you ever produced something completely different from your usual musical genre?

All the time! I think it’s one of my biggest studio goal. To not repeat myself. I’m always trying to get out of my comfort zone. So that’s why when I mixed fado and electronic music it became Porto. Or when I did some DNB, crow! Pandemonium was some metal inspiration… etc …

Over the years a lot of your releases have some sort of cinematic vibes. Have you ever thought about scoring a soundtrack for a film?

Of course and I’m doing it more and more. It’s actually a goal for me. To still have this career but also compose for films. It’s an exercise I really love!

More than a DJ set, your performances are truly live-act. Could you describe what’s your process when you have to play live? You always have pianos or synths and drum pads linked to Ableton. Do you do some sort of groundwork before the show or it’s everything done live?

All my tracks are decomposed into 8 groups of instruments so I can play with the structures live! Also, I try to know my tracks the bests so I can improvise on it with the keyboard. Of course it’s always nice to work it before since it has to sound good… not only be fun to play! Haha

In 2019 you team up with the Cercle crew for an incredible show that included a whole orchestra. How the idea was born and, have you ever done something like that? How did you coordinate the orchestra to play with you?

Worakls Orchestra Cercle Château La Coste

I particularly love what Cercle does for years and we were speaking for months about doing something together! I asked them to wait for this show to be operational so I could give it to them… I wanted to do the best possible and this show was my baby so I’m super happy that it was my very first Cercle! It took me something like 6 months to write this show and to rehearse it! Can’t wait to write a new one!

13 years of career are a lot of time, considering how fast things evolve lately. How would you describe the changes in over a decade and how you faced these changes. For instance, 5 years ago the performance with Cercle wasn’t in anyone’s thoughts.

The world evolves around us. You can try to change it or to adapt. That’s what I think … Cercle was born because the concept is good and the people who are running it are very talented. So it was meant to be! Like many other things! In my case, I try to do my best every day and take nothing for granted. I aim high but always in respect of my environment, people around me, and knowing that I have a lot of work to do to achieve my dreams!

Banyan

Banyan Breathes New Life Into Modera’s “From Walks Of Life”

How social media have impacted your life as an artist if they did?

Well, it was kinda hard for me to start using it because I’m not really someone that enjoys showing my life every day… but I got used to it. I like to follow some people and see what they are doing so I try to give my listeners what I would like to see from my idols haha. But in the end, that’s so nice and my followers are always so kind to me… I try to answer everyone and their messages are some kind of fuel! It’s always giving me a lot of energy.

You own two record labels, Sonate and Hungry Music. Why have you decided to “go by your own” with a music label? Do you manage the A&R tasks in the label?

Because I thought I wanted to propose a kind of music that wasn’t really trendy … so instead of fighting with the existing label, I chose freedom haha. But I still allow myself to release somewhere else sometimes! My awesome team is helping me with the a&r tasks and we are doing a lot of meetings to take all decisions together!

Now I would like to talk a bit more about the “hidden part” of being an artist. The last year has been a very thought period for everyone, especially people working in the musical sector. How are you facing the situation? Has your creativity suffered or this new challenge has given you new ideas for the future?

Worakls before the show

I think it was a pause that I definitely needed in terms of traveling, shows, etc … but I worked even more in the studio and the inspiration is bigger than ever so I’m very lucky about it! Of course, it’s a bad situation and we all want to be back to normal but I try to think about what I can do while it’s like this and try to come back stronger than before!

Being an artist of your caliber, with huge shows, maybe pressing requests from fans, high expectations, could be very stressful and energy-consuming. How do you manage everything and keep things “in order” without burning out?

Well, sometimes I feel I’m quite close to burnout, and sometimes my balance is better. Sport is helping me a lot with that. I included it for the past two years in my life and it’s really something that helps. But once again, my fans are usually more helping than causing pressure… I’m the one who’s putting all the pressure haha

Have you ever thought not to make it and/or leave everything and do something completely different and, in that case, how did you react?

Never! I always thought that, if someone can do it, why couldn’t I? And also, the matter was more, how can I do it? Then: can I do it? Today I’m lucky enough to live from my passion. That’s one of the biggest luck I could ever dream of.

What can we expect in the future from you and your label?

Top-ranked amateur announces surprising PGA Tour decision

Gordon Sargent is the top-ranked amateur in the world.

Getty Images

If you think the internet generation isn’t any good with delayed gratification, well, you should meet Gordon Sargent.

Sargent is one of the best junior golfers in the world — a lit-fuse of ball-striking skill and ridiculous length in a still-growing body. He is the world’s No. 1 ranked amateur, and he has been anointed to a life of PGA Tour stardom and big-money paychecks for as long as he’s been on the collegiate golf scene. He finished T39 at the U.S. Open last summer just two weeks after his 20th birthday — good enough for low amateur status and also the raised eyebrows of a legion of Tour pros competing in the toughest event of the season. He played so well as a sophomore as Vandy that he was awarded full-time PGA Tour status last fall, eight months before the completion of his junior season.

Some day, you’ll see Gordon Sargent competing on the fairways of the PGA Tour for millions. And that’s the funny part: He’s not going. At least not yet.

On Thursday morning, the 20-year-old star announced that he will return to Vanderbilt for his senior season in 2024-25 instead of opting into his membership on the PGA Tour, a surprise decision that will prolong his amateur career by another year.

“Was kind of hoping a decision would come clear and obviously there’s not going to be a perfect answer,” Sargent told Golf Channel’s Brentley Romine . “But I was weighing my options and I mean, after just playing a few college events in the spring, I think you really appreciate how much you enjoy college golf. After reviewing with my parents, coaches and team-wise, it just kind of seemed like it was the best thing for me. I could stay in Nashville and continue to get better.”

The decision is a momentous one for Sargent, who will delay his Tour career by at least another 18 months. The riches of Tour life are as considerable as they are alluring, as fellow 20-year-old wunderkind Nick Dunlap already has learned. Dunlap, who turned pro after winning on the Tour as an amateur in January, has lived a full life on golf’s top shelf this year while Sargent has competed in the collegiate ranks. But the world of NIL has changed the calculus for collegiate stars like Dunlap and Sargent, both of whom have played well enough to earn sponsorship money from a golf world hungry for their arrivals.

In an ironic twist, tapping into NIL riches has proven motivating for athletes to prolong their collegiate careers — as the college basketball world witnessed firsthand with star guard Caitlin Clark’s decision to stay at Iowa for her senior season. The college world may never offer more money than the pro ranks, but it offers enough for many players to consider extending their college careers to better prepare for the pros.

Sargent is only the latest player to fall into this category, and he surely won’t be the last. And the really good news is that, unlike Clark, Sargent bears less of the risk of injury derailing his professional prospects. As a result of his accelerated status in the PGA Tour University program, Sargent is guaranteed 18 months of Tour membership irrespective of what happens during the remainder of his junior and senior seasons.

“Knowing there’s a PGA Tour card still waiting for you, it gives you a lot of freedom if you need to make some changes and stuff,” Sargent said. “Then off the golf course, [the goal is] just continue to mature as a person and just better prepare myself for the future.”

No, he will not be on the Tour for quite a while. But Gordon Sargent’s time is coming. And perhaps most impressive, he’s happy to wait for it.

How can I buy tickets for the tour in the United States?

Through social media, Shakira announced that official tickets for the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour will be available starting today, Wednesday, April 17th, on Ticketmaster . On this occasion, tickets can be purchased through a presale for Citi cardholders and are limited to a maximum of six per user.

The regular presale will take place on Friday, April 19th, at 10 a.m., and to gain access, it’s necessary to pre-register for the Wolfpack at Shakira.com . General sale will be on Monday, April 22nd.

How much do tickets cost?

In the United States, the ticket prices vary in each state. During the Citi presale tickets, the most exclusive areas range from $530 to $1,019 plus taxes. These tickets include benefits such as reserved front-row seats, exclusive merchandise, a meet-and-greet, and a photo opportunity with Shakira. For general tickets, prices range from $100 in some cities to $350 plus taxes.

On social media, the singer shared that, in less than two hours, the presale tickets for Citi members are almost sold out in Brooklyn, Miami, San Antonio, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington.

Great Looks, Decent Comfort

Clipper40 - Apr 11, 2024

Slight upgrade over last years model. I like the improved lacing system which seems to hug my foot better. I do think last year's Tour 2 had better cushion or "bounce" to the insole. This year's model feels much firmer to me which is disappointing. I was hoping they would soften up after a few rounds but that doesn't seem to be the case so far. Probably wouldn't have bought 3 colors knowing what I know now. ...

Look good, play good!

Haven't bought a Nike golf shoe in a few years but when I saw these, I knew I had to have them! They look nice and feel comfortable. It's nice knowing these shoes will prevent me from slipping even when my score is falling! ...

Good Shoe - very stable

Great shoe, color's came out in the picture. Have played a few rounds in wet and dry conditions, and shoe did great in both. Very stable on hardpack dirt, fairways, wet rough, and sand. ...

Feel the Grip

The all-new Tour Flex Pro from Softspikes® in the key 3 forefoot spike locations and Silver Tornado spikes in the lateral and heel offer exceptional traction in all conditions and give your feet great grip on the ground when you’re going all out for the pin.

All-Round Response

We stitched a Zoom Air unit directly to the upper instead of being set into foam, so it responds to every step. A full-length plate beneath the Air unit helps increase energy return. Cushiony foam under the heel delivers an extremely smooth ride.

Old-School Look

Full-grain leather has a supple feel and sophisticated look, nodding to golf shoes from past generations.

An internal strap stretches over then secures your foot, conforming to its shape.

I've visited all 50 states solo. These are the 8 places I'd pick for a relaxing, low-key vacation.

  • After traveling solo to all 50 US states, I've found some great places to relax and unwind.
  • I love visiting coastal towns in California, Oregon, and Maine.
  • I also enjoy disconnecting in Taos, New Mexico, and Homer, Alaska.

Insider Today

Over the past decade, I've traveled to all 50 US states and spent time in tons of major cities and small towns. I've also driven solo across the country several times, stopping in some of the most unique and beautiful places the United States has to offer.

Although I love finding a heart-pumping adventure or bustling city to explore, there's nothing quite like a getaway meant for relaxation. Turns out I'm not alone in this thought, as more and more travelers gravitate toward relaxing getaways .

Although relaxation can sometimes be more of a state of mind than a physical place, some destinations I've visited have made it easier to embrace a low-key and laid-back attitude than others.

Here are eight places I'd recommend for a relaxing getaway.

California's Sonoma Coast is more tranquil than the state's touristy areas.

worakls us tour

California's Sonoma Coast is home to some of the state's most dramatic scenery. With towering cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, rolling hills covered in vineyards, and ancient redwood forests, this is where I love to visit to simply immerse myself in nature.

Unlike the more touristy areas in Southern California , the beaches here are generally less crowded and more peaceful. I love to drive the coast to lunch in Bodega Bay, relax on the sand at Goat Rock Beach while listening to the sound of the waves, and enjoy the fresh ocean air.

Taos, New Mexico, is the perfect spot to unwind.

worakls us tour

Taos, a small historic town in northern New Mexico, is the spot I always return to for a relaxing and low-key getaway.

Nestled amid the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos has some of the most breathtaking landscapes I've ever encountered and is the perfect spot to watch a sunrise or sunset.

I love spending a few nights in a short-term rental or a vintage camper reading, relaxing, and visiting nearby hot springs and art galleries.

It's easy to disconnect in Homer, Alaska.

worakls us tour

Nestled on the tip of the Kenai Peninsula , Homer, Alaska, feels very peaceful and low-key.

The majestic mountains, glaciers peeking out in the distance, and stunning coastline dotted with islands make Homer visually stunning, with a charming downtown and opportunities to explore.

There are many outdoor-adventure opportunities here, but visitors can just as easily have a slower-paced vacation and truly disconnect.

Spend time exploring the coastline, take a scenic boat tour, and savor the local seafood — all with a tranquil view.

Pacific City, Oregon, offers a laid-back vibe with local shops, art galleries, and cafés.

worakls us tour

The Oregon Coast, as a whole, is the perfect destination for a relaxing, low-key getaway, but one of my favorite spots is Pacific City.

This quaint spot with a laid-back vibe has lots of local shops, art galleries, friendly cafés, and local restaurants to keep me busy between trips to the magnificent coastline.

Home to Haystack Rock and the stunning Cape Kiwanda scenic headland, you don't have to go far to find the natural beauty. Many hotels and rentals in the area even offer ocean views.

Lake Toxaway is North Carolina's private hidden gem.

worakls us tour

Located in North Carolina, Lake Toxaway is one of the most beautiful places you likely haven't heard of.

The stunning lake, surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, is a true respite. With access granted only to homeowners, short-term renters, and guests at The Greystone Inn, the lake offers exceptional opportunities for rest.

Although there are opportunities for hiking, biking, and water sports, the beauty of Lake Toxaway is that you can do as much or as little as you please.

Avila Beach, California, is the perfect escape from California's big cities.

worakls us tour

Avila Beach is my favorite spot in Central California. Located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, this community is the picture of relaxation.

The quaint enclave is an escape from California's big cities and offers a relaxed vibe and friendly atmosphere. Explore local shops and galleries, grab a cup of coffee and a pastry at a waterfront café, or indulge in fresh seafood at a harborside restaurant — all at a leisurely pace.

Avila Beach also has hot springs and wineries nearby, which make the perfect additions to any low-key getaway.

Carefree, Arizona, offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

worakls us tour

With a name like Carefree, it's no surprise you'll find low-key tranquility in this Arizona town. Offering a unique combination of desert beauty, wellness opportunities, and proximity to the Phoenix metro area, it is the perfect place to unwind.

Carefree sits at the edge of the Sonoran Desert, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, and has become a hub for wellness seekers.

Several well-known wellness resorts and spas are located either in town or nearby, offering amenities and opportunities for rest and relaxation.

Take a scenic hike through McDowell Sonoran Preserve, or simply relax by the pool at your resort, soaking up the Arizona sunshine.

Coastal Maine offers a breathtaking and relaxing escape.

worakls us tour

No list of relaxing getaways would be complete without Coastal Maine. The rugged coastline of Maine, with its rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, and quaint harbor villages, offers a genuinely breathtaking and relaxing escape.

With many hidden coves and less-frequented stretches of sand, it's easy to find your own peaceful spot to soak up the sun, listen to the rhythm of the waves, and truly unwind.

Before a leisurely stroll along the coast, spend your days visiting the picturesque towns dotting the coastline and savoring fresh seafood and lobster rolls.

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Lloyds Bank is aiming to help Taylor Swift fans in the UK avoid a cruel summer. The bank has issued an “urgent warning” over ticket scams for the upcoming UK leg of the superstar’s Eras Tour, finding that Swifties are being “targeted by a wave of concert ticket scams flooding social media.”

The institution further estimates that industry-wide across the UK there are likely to have been at least 3,000 victims since tickets went on sale, with over £1 million ($1.25 million) lost to fraudsters so far.

More than 90% of reported cases start with fake ads or posts on Facebook, which includes Facebook Marketplace, according to Lloyds, with dozens of unofficial groups set up specifically for people looking to buy and sell tickets for Taylor Swift concerts.

Lloyds warned, “With all UK dates now sold out, many more fans are likely to fall victim to ticket scams in the coming weeks and months, both leading up to the tour and once the concerts begin in June.”

In its research, Lloyds found that the number of reported scam cases relating to concert tickets more than doubled last summer compared to the same period a year earlier (up by 158%). Among the other major artists most commonly targeted last summer were Coldplay, Harry Styles and Beyonce.

Liz Ziegler, Fraud Prevention Director, Lloyds Bank, said, “For her legion of dedicated Swifties, the excitement is building ahead of Taylor’s Eras Tour finally touching down in the UK this summer. However, cruel fraudsters have wasted no time in targeting her most loyal fans as they rush to pick up tickets for her must-see concerts. It’s easy to let our emotions get the better of us when we find out our favorite artist is going to be performing live, but it’s important not to let those feelings cloud our judgement when trying to get hold of tickets.”

Ziegler suggested, “Buying directly from reputable, authorized platforms is the only way to guarantee you’re paying for a genuine ticket. Even then, always pay by debit or credit card for the greatest protection. If you’re being asked to pay by bank transfer, particularly from a seller you’ve found on social media, that should immediately set alarm bells ringing.”
