Three Days In Vegas

How to Tour the Las Vegas Strip

Some of the best ways to see and experience the wonders of The Strip are through a tour. Sin City’s glitz and glamor can be quite overwhelming, especially for first-timers (unless your sole aim is to hit the slot machines!). Things get much simpler when you hand over the reins to someone else—a welcome break even for seasoned Vegas veterans!

One of the best ways to experience the city’s rich culture, history, and wealth of attractions is to take a guided tour around The Strip, where you’ll find most of Sin City’s iconic structures and spots.

These tours cover the highlights and give you enough information about the sights they don’t cover, giving you a strong base to go exploring on your own. If you have an upcoming trip to Vegas and are wondering how to tour the Las Vegas Strip, here are some of the best tour options.

How to Tour the Las Vegas Strip: The Best Tours Options

My first few times in Vegas, I went in with nothing but a map and Yelp reviews to guide me to the best the Strip has to offer. While this has its own beauty, guided tours are hands down the best way to see the highlights of the Vegas Strip (as I would learn in my subsequent trips), especially if you’re short on both time and cash.

Here are some of the best Las Vegas Strip tours that I recommend.

Big Bus Las Vegas Open Top Night Tour

Lets face it, there is a lot to see while visiting Las Vegas. There’s no doubt that as magical as The Strip is during the day, it’s a whole other wonderland once dusk falls. Glitzy neon lights, erupting volcanoes, dancing fountains and busy casinos bring The Strip to life after dark.

The Big Bus tours will take you along The Strip, where you’ll see the impressive MGM Grand, the fountains at Bellagio, and the grandeur of Caesars Palace, and lets you hop off at Fremont Street for the world-famous Fremont Street Experience, a 24-hour walkway brimming with casinos, great dining joints, and free entertainment.

I took the Standard Tour that’s on the offer, and while I’m someone who can easily walk The Strip and enjoy its sights (something I prefer, too), I was able to see way more on this tour than I would on foot.

The Original Foodie Tour on the Las Vegas Strip

If you’re anything like me, you’d rather eat your way through a city and learn its rich culture than stick to conventional sightseeing!

This was a tour I happily signed up for without hesitation, Vegas’s burgeoning food scene is quickly placing it among the top culinary destinations in the country, and even otherwise, I love my food (maybe even a little excessively, but that’s a story for another time!).

This walking tour combines delectable food and sightseeing, with a local guide taking you through several of the most-loved local eateries and fine-dining destinations. This tour is accompanied by fun history and facts provided by your guide, letting your food take on a deeper meaning in some cases.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The tour starts at Grand Bazaar and is limited to groups of 12, which is extremely convenient. Our tour guide was excellent and highly knowledgeable—not only did I walk away with a happy tummy but also picked up some great insider tips on the best watering holes and joints to hit later!

The tour takes roughly about three hours, including bathroom breaks, leisurely walking, ample time at each venue, and sightseeing must-see attractions on the way.

Las Vegas Club or Pool Crawl Experience

This fun tour is a great way to channel your inner celebrity party animal, with VIP access to three of Sin City’s hottest clubs. The party continues on the streets as you take a luxury party bus to each venue, ably helped by the fun tour host and the unlimited mixers, ice, and cups.

The crawl is available both as a daytime pool crawl or a nighttime club excursion and the price includes the cover charge and expedited access at each venue. You have your choice of the three venues.

Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight

Beholding The Strip from the air is an unparalleled experience that is a must on any bucket list and is easily one of the best tours of the Las Vegas Strip. You can choose from several departure times available throughout the evening and also opt for hotel pickup and drop-off.

Throughout the ride, the pilot (who was extremely professional yet friendly and very knowledgeable) shared fun stories and facts about Vegas while drawing our attention to some of Sin City’s most glamorous sights.

Whether you want to simply see Vegas from the air or have one of the most memorable romantic experiences of your life, this trip is a must experience.

Final Thoughts

If you were wondering how to tour the Las Vegas Strip, I hope I’ve been able to answer you satisfactorily! I’ve been lucky enough to have amazing experiences on most of my tours.

The sign is such a Vegas landmark that in 2013, the State Historic Preservation for the State of Nevada announced that the sign had been added to the State Registrar of Historic Places.

The “logo” of Vegas itself, the sign presents a perfect photo opportunity for visitors and tourists to pose beneath the world-renowned welcome sign.

A Note About Walking Distances on The Las Vegas Strip

While the total walking distance of the Las Vegas Strip may only be 4.2 miles or so end to end, by the time you’ve stopped and walked through all the various properties and attractions along the way you will have walked probably close to ten times that distance!

The hotels and casinos on the Strip are gigantic properties and you will likely find yourself walking a number of miles while exploring a single property.

In addition, the distances between hotels and casinos can prove deceptive. For instance, when looking at a map, the Luxor and Caesars Palace may look quite close together, but in truth, the two properties are almost two miles apart.

It will take approximately 37 minutes to cover that distance if you’re not stopping for any reason.

Of course, stopping to check stuff out and have fun is the whole reason you’re visiting Vegas in the first place. So covering that distance may take you all day.

Las Vegas Strip Map

So my advice to you is to pace yourself. The great thing about the Strip walking tour I’ve laid out above is that you can break it down into sections. You can cover the section of the Strip that you’re up for that day and leave the rest for another time.

In addition, you can begin your walk at any point along Las Vegas Boulevard and use this guide to visit the places nearby that you’re interested in.

Las Vegas Strip Walking Tips

Whether you choose to walk the entire Las Vegas Strip or just catch a rideshare to the area you want to be in, you will likely be doing more walking than you do in your normal day-to-day life. In addition, Las Vegas can present some walking challenges that you might not have to deal with at home.

Below, I’ve laid out some Las Vegas Strip walking tips that should prove beneficial:

  • Wear comfortable walking shoes – I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen ladies hobbling up and down the Strip while wearing high-heal shoes or guys trying to walk miles in flip-flops. Save the high-heels for the clubs and the flip-flops for the pools. Be sure to pack a pair of comfortable and broken-in walking shoes for walking along Las Vegas Blvd.
  • When it’s hot, walk at night – I shouldn’t have to tell you it can get really hot in Las Vegas for a good chunk of the year. While you may be expecting the hot weather, until you’ve experienced it yourself you can’t possibly know what it’s like. Daytime temperatures from 100°F to 115°F (38°C to 46°C) are not uncommon. If you’re wanting to walk the Strip when the weather is like this, do it at night. While nighttime temperatures are still very hot, at least you’re not in the sun.
  • Drink plenty of water – Whether it’s hot outside or not always try to stay hydrated when you’re walking in Vegas. The air in Las Vegas is extremely dry compared to just about any other place on the planet. So even if it’s on the cool side you will want to be drinking water. This goes double if you’ve been drinking adult beverages during your outing! Also, here are some ways to keep your skin moisturized while in Vegas.
  • Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen – The sun here is intense. That’s true even when the weather’s cool outside. It can be 60°F outside, and you can still get a wicked sunburn if you’re not careful. A hat, sunglasses, and a liberal application of sunscreen should be a requirement if you plan on spending much time walking along the Strip.

4 Ways to Avoid Some Walking in Las Vegas

If this much walking sounds exhausting to you, take heart. There are ways to get around Las Vegas without a car that can cut out a significant portion of the walking.

  • Hop on Hop Off Bus – The Hop on Hop Off Bus is an open-top, double-decker bus that runs up and down the Strip and to downtown. The bus will stop at or near most of the destinations on the walking tour guide without you having to walk the in-between sections. You can purchase a ticket for the day and hop off the bus wherever you want and jump back on again when you’re ready.

Best Helicopter Tours Las Vegas Strip

Imagine yourself soaring through the skies looking down over the Strip with panoramic views in every direction. Sounds amazing, right? A helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it’s not cheap either. That’s why you want to book the best tours there are. This post only features the best of the best.

1. Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation

⭐ RATING: 4.5 out of 5 Stars (3700+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 2 hours | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 10-12 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

The best helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip is the Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation which has an impressive rating of 4.5/5 after nearly 4000 reviews. That means thousands of people have rated this tour ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

tour of vegas strip

When booking a tour, no matter what tour it is or where in the world it is, I like to go with the tried and tested option. Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation is definitely tried and tested.

No one wants to book a tour with no reviews, right? Thousands of people have taken this tour before and the rating speaks for itself. People don’t leave positive reviews for no reason. In fact, people are less likely to review a positive experience than a negative one. So to have nearly 4000 ratings and a score of 4.5/5 is a testament to how great this tour really is.

The tour begins with an optional dinner (for an additional price) at either Bonefish Grill or Pampas Brazilian Grille. Two of the nicest restaurants in Las Vegas, in my opinion. Dinner reservations will be set for 6 pm and the included meals are absolutely delicious, and actually pretty decent value for money.

Top Tip: If you’re more partial to fish and seafood, go with Bonefish Grill. On the other hand, Pampas offers authentic South American cuisine. It’s a tough choice!

After dinner, it’s time to lift off! Your helicopter pilot will fly you over the world-famous Las Vegas Strip. You’ll get views of the Bellagio Fountains, the towering Stratosphere, the Fremont Street Experience, and all the rest!

What I love about the Strip is that there’s always another thing coming. You think you’ve spotted all the sights then boom, there’s Caesars Palace. Being at night only adds to the atmosphere. Seeing the Strip lit up is a beautiful sight.

Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation is top-notch when it comes to punctuality. It’s very well-organized. Everything runs smoothly and on time. Also, the pilots and staff are super friendly, making this an unforgettable experience!

Important things to note:

  • All ages are welcome to fly
  • Transportation, gratuities, and a $5 fuel surcharge are not included
  • Seat requests are considered, but are not guaranteed and depend on weight distribution, the company reserves the right to assign seats
  • The flight lasts 10-12 minutes

All in all, you can’t go wrong with booking Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation . It’s the best tour for a reason!

2. Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight with Optional Transportation

A picture taken from a helicopter over the Las Vegas Strip at night.

⭐ RATING: 4.5 out of 5 Stars (1200+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 2 hours | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 10-12 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

Next up is the Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight with Optional Transportation which also has a very high reputation. Over 1200 reviews and a strong rating of 4.5/5 stars. Impressive, again!

Review which says "Just fantastic! They transported us from our hotel and back. Helicopter pilot was great. He played music (including Top Gun, of course)! Beautiful view of Vegas at night. Fley right by the Stratosphere!"

If you’re looking for an easy-to-book helicopter flight over Las Vegas, Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight with Optional Transportation is about as straightforward as it gets.

If your dates are flexible, check several different days, as the company offers a handful of flight times , more than some of the other companies, with times every half hour from 9 pm until 11:30 pm.

Having the option to choose the exact time of your flight is so useful. It allows you to get exactly what you want out of your tour. Want a sunset? Try the 9 pm one. Want to see the Strip lit up? Take the 11.30 pm one.

This flight, like most Las Vegas helicopter tours, is quick, lasting between 8 and 12 minutes, but provides you with all the famous views you’ve seen in movies and pictures. You’ll see all the most famous casinos and resorts from a state-of-the-art EC-130 helicopter.

Even though the flight seems short, it’s still more than worth it. I was sceptical too. It’s a lot of money for a short amount of time. But trust me, you will be left with lifelong memories.

Not to mention that the pilots are knowledgeable locals and can answer all your questions about the famous views of the Las Vegas Strip.

Transportation is not included in the price of the tour but is available for an additional cost. From pickup until dropoff (if those options are selected) the tour will last around 2 hours.

  • Transportation and gratuities are not included
  • The flight lasts 8-12 minutes

If you want to choose from a lot of different flight times, be sure to book the Las Vegas Strip Helicopter Night Flight with Optional Transportation .

3. Las Vegas: Helicopter Flight over the Strip with Options

⭐ RATING: 4.7 out of 5 Stars (860+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 15 minutes | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 15 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

If you’re looking for helicopter tours over the Las Vegas Strip which you can personalise exactly how you want it, take a look at the Las Vegas: Helicopter Flight over the Strip with Options . As the name suggests, there are quite a few options.

tour of vegas strip

Las Vegas: Helicopter Flight over the Strip with Options offers some cool options for additional costs to add to your helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip, so if one of these sounds cool to you, make sure to check dates for the availability of that option.

First is an optional food tour where you’ll taste more than 12 dishes prepared by famous Las Vegas restaurants. They rotate which restaurants they work with, so check the details on your specific date. But no matter which restaurants you visit, you’re guaranteed to be wowed. The food in Vegas is unbelievable.

On some dates, you can also choose a sunset flight over Red Rock Canyon , with a landing where you can get out and check out the scenery of Red Rock Canyon State Park from a viewpoint with a great view of the sunset. Note that this still includes a flight over the Strip.

Pickup and dropoff from your hotel are also available as an add-on if your hotel is within 5 miles of The Strip.

Having so many options is great, and is the biggest selling point of Las Vegas: Helicopter Flight over the Strip with Options .

But that’s not to take away from the fact that it’s still a really really good helicopter tour over the Strip. As the above review says, it’s an amazing experience.

  • The flight lasts 15 minutes (longer if the Red Rock option is selected)

To make your helicopter tour exactly as you imagine it, take a look at the Las Vegas: Helicopter Flight over the Strip with Options tour.

4. Las Vegas: Night Helicopter Flight over Las Vegas Strip

A picture looking down on the Las Vegas Strip at night lit up during a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip

⭐ RATING: 4.4 out of 5 Stars (64+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 1 hour | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 12 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

Another great option is the Las Vegas: Night Helicopter Flight over Las Vegas Strip which offers a short and sweet experience, but one that will leave you speechless. It’s super.

Review which says "The view of the strip at night is breathtaking! The processing at the gate was very easy and fast. Everyone was very nice from the counter staff to the pilot. I've never flown a helicopter before and thought it was just awesome!!"

If you’re new to helicopter tours and a little apprehensive, this tour is billed as the perfect experience for you. Or, if you’re short on time in Sin City, it’s a great option for you too. The flight over Las Vegas is a fairly quick one, at about 12 minutes. And the tour is only one hour, all in.

But don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t feel like it’s a waste.

That 12 minutes is filled with the best views in Las Vegas. The shots you’ve seen in movies and pictures will come to life before your very eyes. You’ll get all the views you’ve been dying for of the Wynn, Bellagio, The Eiffel Tower at Paris, and the New York New York.

For me personally, that’s what I loved about Vegas, and New York too. Being from the UK, I got to see so many infamous sights and buildings in real life which I had seen in countless movies.

You’ll also get some brand new views of new additions to the Las Vegas skyline like the MSG Sphere, Resorts World, Circa, and the brand new Fontainebleau. You’ll also see T-Mobile Arena, the home of the Stanley Cup winning Vegas Golden Knights, and Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders!

  • Gratuities are not included
  • Transportation is only included if the option is selected with the additional price
  • A $5 fuel surcharge is not included

For a helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip that doesn’t take up your whole night, book Las Vegas: Night Helicopter Flight over Las Vegas Strip .

5. Exclusive: VIP Helicopter Strip Flight with Eiffel Tower Dinner

An aerial view of the Strip.

⭐ RATING: 4 out of 5 Stars (70+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 3-6 hours | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 10-12 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

For a tour which offers more than “just” a helicopter flight, take a look at Exclusive: VIP Helicopter Strip Flight with Eiffel Tower Dinner .

Review which says "Our excursion started by being picked up at the Mandalay Bay Hotel then dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Then followed by an amazing night flight with 5 Star Helicopter Tours. The flight took us around the city providing an amazing aerial view of Las Vegas night life."

Dinner with a view then a helicopter flight over Las Vegas. What more could you possibly ask for?

There’s no doubt that Exclusive: VIP Helicopter Strip Flight with Eiffel Tower Dinner will have you feeling like a high roller. A celebrity, some may say.

The evening starts with a delicious 3-course meal overlooking the city from the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. It offers one of the best views over the Strip (bar a helicopter tour of course!). Combine this with a tasty meal and you’ve got the best dinner of your lifetime.

Note: the menu rotates so check with the tour company to see the options for the date you want.

Eating in the Eiffel Tower Restaurant is no mean feat. It’s not cheap, Vegas isn’t expensive , but this restaurant is. But the value of the dinner combined with a helicopter tour is worth paying for. The package deal is great value for money. It’s perfect for couples looking for a romantic evening that’s all about the views!

After dinner, you’ll be ready to take it to the sky with VIP transportation to the departure point. Before lift-off, you’ll enjoy a toast with a complimentary beverage with your group. I did say you would feel like a celebrity!

Review which says "Every course was absolutely wonderful and the staff were great also. The helicopter excursion was wonderful at night!"

As you might have guessed, Las Vegas Night Flight with Dinner at Matteo Ristorante ‘s dinner takes place at Matteo’s Ristorante, at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Venetian. Matteo’s is famous for their high-quality food with roots in Northern Italy. Trust me, it’s incredible. The food is so good that my mouth is watering just writing this.

The menu rotates seasonally but consists of a 4-course meal that will delight without a doubt! Like the Eiffel Tower dinner package, restaurant gratuity is included, but drinks at the restaurant are not and will need to be paid at the restaurant.

For this one, you might want to leave the husbands at home. Helicopter rides in Las Vegas are all about views. Las Vegas: Strip Helicopter Night Flight & Magic Mike Live is about views too, with a little debauchery thrown in in the form of tickets to Magic Mike Live!

Review which says "It is a super cool experience I took my brother for his birthday and he was 1000% fascinated"

This night starts with your helicopter flight over Las Vegas, treating you to all the views you’re dying for. The Wynn, The Cosmopolitan, The High Roller, T-Mobile Arena, you’ll see them all and more on your flight.

When you land, you’ll be taken to one of the hottest shows in Vegas, Magic Mike Live . The show consists of male acrobats, dancers, and performers with a lack of clothes, shall I say. They put all kinds of spice on the show, injecting sensuality on a level no other show can compete with.

It’s famous all around the world and is guaranteed to be a night to remember. Especially when combined with a helicopter tour over the Las Vegas Strip.

  • Not suitable for those under the age of 18
  • Transportation to the helicopter terminal and Magic Mike Live is included
  • Transportation back to your hotel after the show is not included
  • The flight lasts 10-12 minutes, while the show lasts about 90 minutes
  • The tour is 4 hours in total when combining transportation, waiting times, safety talks, activities, etc.

⭐ RATING: 4 out of 5 Stars (30+ reviews) | ⌛ TOUR LENGTH: 1.5-2 hours | 🏙 FLIGHT TIME: 10-15 minutes | 🚁 BOOK NOW

Last but by no means least is the Las Vegas Strip Highlights Helicopter Night Flight . Even though it’s last on my list, it still has a 4/5 rating, which is very solid. As I said earlier, this post only features the best of the best. There are many, many helicopter tours which didn’t make the cut.

Review which says "My first time in a helicopter.... It was great. The pilot was friendly; answered all my questions. The views were spectacular. I'd recommend this tour to anyone coming to Vegas. A++++++"

Las Vegas Strip Highlights Helicopter Night Flight has a nice touch to it, as it starts with a complimentary glass of Champagne and a toast to the wondrous experience you’re about to have.

Your group may consist of up to six people (groups of more than 6 people will need to take additional flights). You will then be briefed and loaded up into an EcoStar helicopter for a flight over the Las Vegas Strip, Downtown including Fremont Street, and Allegiant Stadium.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the views are magnificent. It’s hard to find the words to do it justice. But trust me, once you’ve taken the tour, you will know what I mean.

The pilots narrate the tour with insider travel tips and interesting facts about the sights you see below. I bet you don’t know what the meaning of Las Vegas is ! For a VIP flare, you can add on luxury transport to and from the terminal to arrive in style.

It’s a more simple tour. A “bread and butter tour” as I like to call it. It offers what it says on the tin- a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip. Nothing more, nothing less. You get what you pay for and that’s what I like about this tour.

For a straightforward tour over the Las Vegas Strip at night, book the Las Vegas Strip Highlights Helicopter Night Flight .

Helicopter Tours Las Vegas Strip: FAQ

Below are some questions related to helicopter tours Las Vegas Strip along with my answers.

Most helicopter rides over the Las Vegas Strip last between 8-12 minutes. It seems short, but it’s more than worth it. The views you get are incredible, and there’s a lot jammed into a short flight. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. An unmissable one too.

Yes, helicopter tours are worth the money. Helicopter tours offer the best panoramic views and allow you to see things from a different perspective- one you otherwise wouldn’t get to see. Helicopter tours aren’t cheap by any means, but they leave you with unforgettable memories, so they are worth it.

Tipping a helicopter pilot in Vegas is not necessary the way it is in restaurants, but if you want to show gratitude to your pilot, a $20 tip is the standard amount to tip. It’s not obligatory, but if you feel like your tour was exceptional, it’s a nice way to show your appreciation.

Helicopter Tours Las Vegas Strip: Conclusion

And there you have it, a complete overview of the best helicopter tours of the Las Vegas Strip.

Remember, the best tour is the Las Vegas Helicopter Night Flight with Optional VIP Transportation which has thousands of positive reviews.

R&B superstar returns to Las Vegas Strip on US tour

Chris Brown has just released his 11th studio album, “11:11,” and touring in support.

John Katsilometes

The last time Chris Brown played Las Vegas was at Drai’s Nightclub, in lineup of Strip headliners during Super Bowl weekend.

Brown is back at a far larger scale this summer, playing T-Mobile Arena on Aug. 3. The show is in his “11:11 Tour,” with rising R&B artist Muni Long as special guest (tickets to the general public are on sale 10 a.m. Monday at AXS.com).

Brown has just released his 11th studio album, “11:11,” hence the tour’s title. The release has topped Billboard’s R&B charts, and his “Summer too Hot” was nominated this year for the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. Coco Jones won the category with “ICU.” Long won that category in 2023 for “Hrs & Hrs.”

Brown’s “11:11 Tour” follows his 2023 “Under The Influence” tour of Europe, which reportedly sold out all 27 dates.

He’s here: @chrisbrown @lvrsnfrndsfest …. #RJNow @reviewjournal pic.twitter.com/MmQCOqtobr — John Katsilometes (@johnnykats) May 7, 2023

Brown has headlined Drai’s since June 2022, playing club favorites “Go Crazy,” “Iffy,” and “No Guidance.” But Brown is not on the Drai’s schedule. Club reps have not responded to requests specifying his status at the venue.

We have referred to the 34-year-old superstar as reliably controversial, undeniably talented. Brown made headlines off the stage this past May , when it was reported he and Usher were involved in an altercation at Floyd Mayweather’s Skate Rock City skating center on Boulder Highway.

The dispute, which centered on Brown’s conversation with artist Teyana Taylor , occurred the night before both superstars performed at the Lovers & Friends festival at Las Vegas Festival Grounds.

They did perform, separately and crushing it, unmarked with no sings of a physical altercation. During his set, Usher made what seemed a cryptic reference to the dust-up with Brown, with whom he has been friends for years, “We all go through some (stuff), but if you keep doing the same thing over and over, you’re the fool.”

Video posted by TMZ from the festival showed Brown in a shouting match with unidentified individuals backstage, during Missy Elliott’s set. Brown later said he was breaking up an argument, not the instigator.

Iconic rock band returns for Las Vegas Strip high-demand shows

P opular singers and bands flock to Las Vegas Strip hotel casinos to star in headliner residencies for days, weeks, months and years, while others roll into Sin City for a day or two on their tour schedule. Sometimes performers have done both – brought their national or world tours to Vegas and later signed on for residencies.

Megastar rock band U2 included Las Vegas on seven tours between 1987's Joshua Tree Tour and 2018's Experience + Innocence Tour, making stops at Thomas and Mack Arena, Sam Boyd Stadium, MGM Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena.

U2 an appropriate match for the Sphere

U2 turned out to be the appropriate band to open Sphere Entertainment's  ( SPHR )  Sphere at The Venetian Resort, as the band has been known for its elaborate high-tech stage effects. The Sphere's state-of-the-art amenities, therefore, were a match for U2 for its 40-show residency U2/UV Achtung Baby Live, which opened Sept. 29, 2023 and closes March 2.

Superstar R&B headliner Usher has become a top performer on the Strip dating back to a 1998 performance at MGM Grand Garden Arena and 10 subsequent Vegas concerts over the years from 2002 to 2017.

The frequency of Usher's concerts in Sin City led to residencies at Caesars Entertainment's  ( CZR )  Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2021 and 2022 and MGM Resorts International's  ( MGM )  Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2022 and 2023. Usher's concerts and successful residencies helped him secure the ultimate headlining gig in 2024, the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Half-Time Show at Allegiant Stadium.

The "Yeah" singer comes back to Vegas on Nov. 15 at T-Mobile Arena on his Past Present Future tour.

Pearl Jam returns to Vegas after 18 years

Legendary superstar rock band Pearl Jam might not be in line for a Vegas residency, but the band will return to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time in 18 years at MGM Resorts International's  ( MGM )  MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 16 and 18 as part of its Dark Matter World Tour 2024.

The concerts will promote the band's 12th studio album "Dark Matter" which will be released on April 19 on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records. The album's title track is currently available on the band's website pearljam.com.

Pearl Jam is conducting a Ten Club members-only presale for paid club members who have been active since Feb. 12 through Ticketmaster.com, the band said in a Feb. 13 statement. General public ticket sales will be available only through Ticketmaster registration, for which fans may register by Feb. 18 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time for a chance to participate in the Dark Matter Tour ticket sale.

The band expects high demand for tickets for the two shows, and registration does not guarantee access to the sale. Fans will be randomly selected to access the sale based on ticket availability. Those not selected will be waitlisted and receive an email if  tickets remain available.

Pearl Jam last performed in Las Vegas in July 2006 at the Grand Garden, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. The band was scheduled to play the Grand Garden in May 2022, but had to cancel the show after bassist Jeff Ament tested positive for Covid-19.
