I Traveled With 2GO To Boracay & I Think You Should Too!

Boracay is one of the few famous destinations in the country that accept tourists despite the current COVID situation. But of course, strict health protocols and travel requirements are imposed to ensure safety. When I decided to go to Boracay for my birthday this year, I picked 2GO Travel to take me there. You’re probably wondering why when I can simply hop on a plane and go there in an instant. Well, one thing about me is that I cherish the journey as much as the destination. I don’t really like being in a hurry especially when I have so much time to spare. Traveling with 2GO to Boracay was definitely a great idea and the experience I had was simply amazing!

As with all my other travels, everything didn’t go smoothly though. 😄 The trip to Batangas Port was not easy. Yes. 2GO’s trips to Caticlan start from Batangas Port. This is not my first time traveling with 2GO. In fact, it’s my 3rd. The first two times were during my trip to Romblon in the Lenten Season 3 years ago so I knew what I had to do. I was coming from Manila but I was surprised to find out that it’s different now. A lot has changed since the pandemic. The usual JAM Liner bus from Buendia that takes passengers directly to Batangas Port is no longer available. This made me hop on a DLTB bus to Batangas Grand Terminal, rode a jeep to Batangas town proper, and another jeep to the port itself which was something I didn’t really take into account when I was planning my trip.

I was barely having a bad day having to deal with all the unexpected adjustments. But what got me upset are those people who have tried to rip me off. One jeepney driver offered to take me directly to the port from the Grand Terminal for P200 after he dropped off his other passengers. Another tricycle was charging me P150 for a ride that won’t even cover 2 kilometers! “Wow! That’s just fucked up!”, I thought. How can some people be so heartless amidst all the shit we’re in now? Instead of brooding over it, I let it slide. And although I was not allowed entry right away when I got to the port, I tried to be more understanding and patient.

I might have had a rough start but all my worries melted away when I finally got to board the ship at 8:30 PM. My accommodation was upgraded to a suite and I couldn’t help but adore my room. It has a double-sized bed with clean sheets, a mattress, and 4 pillows! I also have my own toilet and bath with clean towels and shower essentials. The best part is that everything is easily accessible from where I was staying like the cafes, the front desk, the clinic, and the charging stations. The ship’s bar/view deck where I can get a nice look of the city while we sailed away was also just a few flights of stairs from my room.

I roamed freely around the ship before I was invited to the cafe for a sumptuous dinner. I feasted over adobo and caldereta with steamed rice and a creamy seafood soup on the side. It was so satisfying that all I wanted after that was to go on a deep slumber. I knew that I would have a limited time to appreciate the ship the next day so I did some more sightseeing before I went back to my room. One thing I have observed is that the vessel looks clean. The floor is mopped and disinfected constantly. But the thing that amazed me the most was how friendly and accommodating the crews were to the passengers. They all seemed so easy to approach that some passengers could just engage in a conversation with them instantly.

I was already half asleep when I heard a knock on my door. It was several minutes past the hour of 10 on my watch and I couldn’t remember ordering for something. If it was to check if I was doing okay, I would totally appreciate it but I thought I needed more sleep. Lol. I still went to open the door out of courtesy though. What I failed to set myself for was getting dumbfounded by the biggest surprise of all. There, outside my room, were several of the ship’s crews, a cake, and them singing to me “Happy Birthday!” I suddenly remembered mentioning that I was going to Boracay for the said occasion when I was arranging my roundtrip tickets with Bea (2GO’s Corporate Communications Manager) but the sweetie gesture was totally unexpected.

The crew didn’t stay for long since they had to attend to their stations. I, too, went to sleep but this time with a smile all over my face. I couldn’t recall the last time I had a birthday surprise which made me even more grateful to 2GO Travel and their team. The next day, I woke up a little early to witness the sunrise while aboard the ship. Witnessing the sunrise and sunset whenever I travel with 2GO has always been part of my routine. Too bad as that day, the sun failed to battle its way out of the thick clouds so I had to settle for the gloom and the cold breeze. We were scheduled to reach Caticlan at 8 AM so I thought I’d kill time with a slice of cake and a cup of coffee in the meantime.

We reached Caticlan at 7:30 AM but couldn’t disembark as the ship found it difficult to dock due to the unfavorable weather. It took another hour before we could finally go ashore. As soon as the passengers were given a go to disembark, the local healthcare officers went aboard to check each passenger and their requirements. It was well-organized and it went by in a breeze that I found myself on a boat to Boracay just 15 minutes later. This trip with 2GO may not be the ideal way to travel for most people but it certainly is worth a try. If you’re up for something out of the ordinary, traveling with 2GO should be on your list. I swear you’ll never regret the experience.

2Go Travel Review from Manila to Bacolod: My first time traveling by sea

Most Filipinos prefer to travel by sea or at least those who don’t have enough cash to get a plane ticket do. Traveling by plane is expensive unless the ticket is on sale. I like it though because it’s the fastest mode of transportation. People who can’t afford a plane ticket opt to travel by sea. It’s cheaper and they can have a baggage allowance of up to 60kg so long as they can carry it which is ideal for our people with heavy baggage to transport. Depending on your destination, the travel time can take up to 24 hours or more.

As part of my travel escapade, for the first time, I want to try traveling by sea. After my trips to Baguio , Sagada , and Banaue , I went back to Manila. I tried checking CebuPac’s website for an affordable ticket from Manila to Bacolod but I didn’t find any until the idea of boarding a ship crossed my mind.

How much does a Business class ticket cost?

Ticket cost varies depending on your destination and the time you book. I booked mine on 2Go’s website for a Business Class which cost me almost 2,564Php inclusive of tax and insurance.

What class options do they have?

The cheapest is the Mega class. They also have a Super Value class, Tourist Class, Business Class for 4 and 8, Stateroom for 2, and Suite room for 2 is the most expensive.

Since it’s my first time, I chose the Business Class. I boarded MV St. Therese of the Child Jesus that had a route from Manila to Bacolod on to Iloilo and to Cagayan.

Onboard St. Therese vessel

Check-In process and boarding were very straightforward. I paid 250Php for a porter to bring my luggage to my cabin. A crew escorted me to my designated cabin where I waited until the departure.

TIP: If you can carry your luggage, do so to save money from paying a porter. If you have a piece of heavy baggage, hire a porter for convenience.

What to expect inside the 2Go vessel?

They had a comfortable cabin. It was minimal yet it didn’t feel like it’s cramped. The room had a TV for entertainment. There were four bunkers because I chose the Business Class for 8. They also have a Business Class for 4. They provided a clean blanket and linen.

It was spacious inside the ship. There were lots of amenities. There was a restaurant, a saloon where you could get your hair done while on the ship, and a convenience store where you could buy snacks.

Horizon Café  serves the meals for Business class, Stateroom, and Suite room.

Food is included in the fare. Since the travel time was 24 hours, I got 3 complimentary meals from breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast – the last meal before closing the port in Bacolod

There’s a different area where meals for other class are served.

Was it worth getting a Business class ticket?

Business class ticket costs more than any value class ticket. The good thing about getting a Business Class option, apart from a comfortable cabin, is when it’s meal time, the queue is not long. There’s almost no waiting time for your food to be served.

In other class, the queue was long. People there had to wait for several minutes just to get their meals.

Horizon Café offered a variety of food from chicken, pork, beef, and vegetables. It’s served in a buffet, and you can opt for a combination of meat and vegetables.

They prepared different activities for passengers that night. There was a singing competition in a karaoke bar on the ship. They also had a live band which I didn’t get to watch. I didn’t feel well then. It’s the first time I traveled at sea for 24 hours. I only traveled for two hours via a ship before. So when night came, though I wanted to join the fun, I chose to stay in bed. I had to force myself to get up and buy medicine. Thank God they sell medicines in the ship.

A Christmas tree in the hallway

The whole trip went smooth. I didn’t even feel that I was traveling. I get to know other passengers in the same cabin.

We had an early breakfast when morning came as the ship was closing the port in Bacolod. I had to pay 300Php again to a porter to bring out my luggage.

How was my experience?

Overall, the experience was unforgettable. My first-time traveling by sea was very comfortable. Thanks to the efforts of 2Go Travel. Next time I’m in Manila, I will consider traveling with them again, provided I can spare enough travel time.

You can do a lot of entertaining things while on board. For me, I felt I just stayed at home for a whole day doing things like reading an eBook and watching TV.

PROS: Comfortable, convenient and lively

CONS:  My trip was rescheduled 3 times. The travel time was longer.

Join the fun at night. It’s worth it. Nevertheless, I had a great time with them.

Till the next adventure!

2Go sails for Cebu 4 times weekly on FRIDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY, and WEDNESDAY . It is a 23-hour journey.

2Go Travel Fare and Tickets

2Go cruise ships feature different cabins and accommodation options, from super-cheap Mega Value Class to luxurious Staterooms or Suitrooms for 2, hence regardless of your budget you are sure to find the type of ticket that suits your pocket and meets your requirements. Note that in summer it is better to opt for an air-conditioned type of accommodation as it can get oppressively hot even in the open sea. The most popular 2Go Travel ticket options are Tourist Class and Cabin for 4 which offer the best value for your money. Sample 2Go Travel ticket prices are as follows:

  • Mega Value – USD32
  • Super Value – USD36
  • Cabin for 4 – USD47
  • Tourist Class – USD41
  • Cabin for 4 – USD62

Batangas–Boracay

  • Super Value – USD26
  • Tourist Class – USD35
  • Cabin for 4 – USD41

2Go ticket booking can be made in person in any of the company’s outlets or online via the official website or via OTA like us. Booking process is easy with instant confirmation.

When booking online, an e-ticket is issued, which should be then shown at boarding together with your valid ID. IMPORTANT! If you do not print out your e-tickets you will be asked to pay for your real ticket at the port.

2Go Promo Tickets

To grab the best deals with 2Go, shop during seasonal sales periods. 2Go Travel promo tickets are a great way to save big on your sea journey. The best strategy to take advantage of this is to subscribe to the company’s pages in social media. There are both promos for immediate travel and advanced booking.

  • 2Go has really placed a premium on the safety and comfort of their passengers. Security checks of luggage are always conducted. There is a sufficient number of life jackets on board, lifeboats, an in-house medical unit, a rescue boat and even a few police representatives.
  • The amenities and facilities are not to be frowned upon, either. There is always a good front office, a 24/7 cafe, a full bar, live entertainment, salons, and spas.
  • There are charging stations on board for passengers of all classes.
  • 2Go ships including common areas and toilets are generally cleaner compared to other ferries around the archipelago.
  • Overnight trips are a great way to save some bucks on accommodation and entertainment.
  • 2Go can arrange onward transportation for passengers through their partner companies to make your travel even more convenient.
  • Trips can be delayed or cancelled due to weather conditions, especially during the typhoon season. Be ready and be flexible. This is not the fault of the company, though. Yet in case of a delay no complimentary food and drinks are offered.
  • The refund process if you require one can take as long as 2 months if you cancel your tickets paid for by a bank card for any reason.
  • Air-conditioning is often freezing cold but overall the price and experience are hard to beat.

Returning after last year's good experience

I used Covered2Go last year for the first time and unfortunately I needed to make a claim. This was handled without hassle and settled within 2 weeks. I'm taking out a policy again this year and some obvious improvements have been made to the website, including the health assessment checks, which are now so much easier.

Reply from Covered2Go Travel Insurance

Good morning Mr Knight, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trustpilot. We're delighted to hear that you had a good experience with us last year regarding the claim you had to submit. Furthermore, we're happy to hear that you're pleased with the changes made to our website. Thank you for choosing Covered2Go for your travel insurance and we wish you all the best on your travels. Kind regards, Matt

Several months and still no decision on claim

I bought an annual policy which last year. I was in an accident while abroad and filed a claim near the end of the year. I got an email in January asking for more documents, some of which I had already previously uploaded to the claims portal. They then proceeded to ask me more questions about the incident some repeatedly, but have yet to give any indication of whether the claim is accepted or rejected. So far I have received and responded to seven emails from the insurer from January until 5 March, but have received no further correspondence since then despite two emails chasing. I called them to ask about progress but they told me that they would only respond by email and I would not get any update or resolution from calling them. It's ridiculous that they will repeatedly demand information and documents piecemeal from you once you've filed a claim (especially since some were already provided), but then suddenly stop reply to emails asking for a progress update. I received multiple emails from them informing me that my insurance policy was ending and asking if I wanted to renew - of course they are more interested in making another sale rather than honouring a claim.

Date of experience : March 19, 2024

Good morning, We're very sorry to hear this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately, ourselves at Rush Insurance are not authorised to discuss claims in any detail, we would however be more than happy to follow this up with our colleagues at Millstream Underwriting Limited who deal with the claims for our customers accordingly. In order for us to do so, please could you send us an email at [email protected] detailing your policy number, postcode, first line of address and your claim reference number? We look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Matt

You answer the phone quickly (Jasmine and Sharon) and provide a quote quickly and it proves competitive, and they sound cheerful and friendly. Quick and straightforward with various options presented clearly. As with some websites, autofilling some boxes doesn't always work properly but not a big deal. Cheaper than most of the quotes via a comparison site.

Is the 2Go ferry back running between batangas and Caticlan after covid ??

They keep their web site up to date, unusual for a Filipino ferry company: https://travel.2go.com.ph/

A quick google search of their website would have given you the answer.

So many questions being posted in here when the answers are already out there in Google land.

Before i left Rombon to return to Sydney back in April most of the passenger and/or ROROferries were back in action from/to various destinations, some were starting out with limited services until things got back to normal.

https://travel.2go.com.ph/schedules.aspx

I have to agree with Greg.

Try to find the answer first before asking redundant questions on the forum.

I been trying to google and figure out where I can leave a review for 2GO ferry on Trip Advisor 🤷🏻‍♂️ No clue, so I will write it here =P

Here below is the list of things the ferry doesn't have.

- No Running water for the toilets (you have to fill buckets in the showers)

- No Toilet Paper

- No hose to wash your bum, because no running water (you have to buy paper from the shop which is only open from 5am to 12am) So if your first poo is between midnight and 5am, you are screwed.

- No hand soap. (luckily we had our own)

- No clean rooms (each room was full of hair, crums and trash)

- No wifi (which is okay, not required)

- No cell network (of course, we are out at sea)

- No way to turn the lights off in the room (it was a Tourist dorm, but was only us in there. We managed to take the cases off the rectangle foam pillows and block the lights)

- No map of the boat (even for fire escape) so you have to just wander around to understand what is around and where to go if there is an emergency)

- No signs saying you can not use the power outlets, but if you do, they tell you can't. I just smiled and said okay. They got a manager and I told the manager I would only listen to the captain. The captain never came =P which I am glad because I was ready to tell them to call the police or throw me off the boat =P they have charging stations but it is 5 peso for 10 mins of charging... If it works)

Other than the issues above how was your trip ?

Did you save much by taking the boat over flying ?

Where in Palawan did the boat Dock ?

@ iiviivix I have just submitted a request to Tripadvisor to have 2Go Ferries added so that you can review this ferry service. This may take a few days.

As with Tommo, palawanismyhome and others I would always fly and your detailed and welcome review merely reinforces that.

2GO Ferry is now listed on Tripadvisor:

You are currently viewing Is Lucky2go Legit or a Scam? An Honest Review [BEWARE]

Lucky2go promises irresistibly cheap international flights through “virtual interlining.” But with a terrible 1.5-star rating on Trustpilot, is this too-good-to-be-true travel site legit or a total scam?

As an experienced budget traveler, I decided to dig deep and investigate. I analyzed lucky2go’s business model, customer reviews, booking process, and more to uncover the truth.

After extensive research, I believe there are some legitimate reasons for caution with lucky2go. However, many flights do seem to ticket successfully for substantial savings in the end.

This article will walk you through everything I learned in my quest to determine: is Lucky2go legit?

You’ll discover:

Let’s dive in and uncover whether this controversial budget travel site is right for you…

Quick Overview: What Exactly is Lucky2go?

Lucky2go is an online travel agency that provides discounted international flights through a method called “virtual interlining.”

This refers to combining flight segments from various airlines onto a single itinerary. Lucky2go’s technology pieces together different airlines and routings to find cheaper fares than booking directly.

For example, they may book you on a short regional hop to a hub on a budget airline. Then connect you separately to an international leg on a major carrier.

By mixing and matching airlines, lucky2go says they can beat prices from traditional OTAs like Expedia .

The Lucky2go website and mobile apps work much like any mainstream booking site. You can search, select, and purchase flights, hotels, rental cars, and vacation packages.

However, there are a few key differences in their business model:

  • Focus on discounted airfare – Lucky2go’s unique angle is using virtual interlining to find cheap international flights. Other booking options are secondary.
  • Lean operation – To keep costs low, Lucky2go appears to be a very lean operation focused solely on flight booking technology. Customer service is lacking compared to bigger travel sites.
  • Target budget travelers – With its focus on the cheapest possible fares, Lucky2go caters to discount travelers and first-time international fliers. But this leaves some veteran travelers underwhelmed.

The core question remains: does Lucky2go reliably deliver the irresistible flight deals they tout? Are the savings worth the risks involved? Is Lucky2go legit or a scam?

Let’s break down their business model, reviews, and booking process in detail to find out…

How Does Lucky2go Offer Such Cheap Flights?

Lucky2go credits its discounted airfares to proprietary “virtual interlining” technology. But what’s the reality behind these deals?

Here are 5 tricks Lucky2go uses to lower fares:

1. Partnering with Budget Airlines

The first key to Lucky2go’s cheap flights is leveraging budget carriers like Spirit, Frontier, and Ryanair. These airlines offer basic economy fares at bargain basement prices.

Lucky2go will book you on a budget airline for a short hop between cities. Then connect separately to your international leg on a major carrier like Air France .

While budget airlines nickel-and-dime you with fees, Lucky2go bundles some perks like checked bags and seat selection into their upfront pricing. This adds value on top of the cheap base fares from budget partners.

2. Flying Through Secondary Airports

Another way Lucky2go reduces costs is by routing through alternate airports farther outside major cities.

For example, rather than London Heathrow, they may fly you into Stansted Airport a full hour outside the city. Or for New York, land at Newark Liberty instead of JFK.

Since these secondary airports are less congested, budget carriers offer lower fares. Lucky2go capitalizes on this.

The tradeoff is you often need to budget extra transportation time and cost to get into the city center. But for some budget-focused fliers, the airport transportation is worth hundreds saved on airfare.

3. Obscure Flight Connections

In addition to secondary airports and budget airlines, Lucky2go finds deals through unconventional connections most travelers would overlook.

Their virtual interlining technology stitches together indirect routings major OTAs don’t spot.

For example, to get from San Francisco to Rome, they may route you through New York, Toronto, Reykjavik, then finally into Rome. This mixes discount airlines on shorter legs with international carriers for longer segments.

While a bit circuitous, these left-field routings can lead to major savings versus a simple roundtrip booking.

4. Basic Economy Fares

Another way Lucky2go achieves low fares is heavy use of basic economy pricing.

Basic economy is a restrictive, no-frills ticket class introduced by big airlines to compete with budget carriers. It removes perks like seat selection and overhead carry-on bags.

Lucky2go appears to utilize basic economy fares extensively. They roll a few extras like checked bags back into the base price. But flights are still booked in the restrictive basic economy ticket class.

One downside is basic economy tickets have stringent change and cancellation rules. More on that later.

5. Lean Operations

By maintaining lean operations focused solely on travel booking software, Lucky2go avoids overhead costs of traditional agencies.

They outsource customer service overseas to keep staffing costs low. The barebones website and lack of brick-and-mortar offices also improve efficiency.

This optimized model lets Lucky2go pass significant savings onto customers. But the tradeoff seems to be lackluster customer support, as we’ll see.

The Bottom Line on Lucky2go’s Cheap Flights

So Is lucky2go legit? Through strategic use of budget airlines, secondary airports, obscure routings, basic economy fares, and optimized operations, Lucky2go is able to offer some shockingly cheap deals.

But are these low fares reliable? And does Lucky2go deliver on the flights they promise? Let’s explore customer experiences next.

Analyzing 1,000+ Lucky2go Reviews: 3 Key Complaints

Is lucky2go legit? Given its terrible 1.5-star overall rating on Trustpilot, Lucky2go is one of the most controversial and polarizing travel sites I’ve come across.

Most negative Lucky2go reviews fall into 3 areas:

  • Misleading advertised prices
  • Poor customer service
  • Problems with bookings

Let’s break down key patterns in unsatisfied customer feedback around each of these issues.

1. Complaints About Misleading Advertised Prices

By far the most common grievance from Lucky2go reviewers is that advertised prices turn out to be unrealistic or invalid. Many feel duped by prices literally too good to be true.

For example, this 1-star review title sums it up:

“Advertising false prices – get you hooked then ask for more money for flights”

The review details how the final charged price ended up $65 higher per ticket than originally quoted:

“I booked and paid online yesterday (1990077681). I later received an email that I had to pay an extra $65 after my flight was already paid in full and taken out of my bank.”

Dozens of Lucky2go customers report similar experiences of getting charged more after booking due to advertised prices suddenly not being available.

In responses, Lucky2go generally blames these pricing issues on:

  • Base fares increasing after booking due to demand or airline policy changes
  • Taxes and services fees not displayed upfront

But many feel blindsided and deceived by prices drastically changing from when they booked. This bait-and-switch perception damages Lucky2go’s reputation.

2. Frustration With Poor Customer Service

The second most common complaint about Lucky2go is terrible, unreliable customer support. Their 1.5-star Trustpilot rating is heavily dragged down by bad service reviews.

Customers describe trying every avenue possible to contact Lucky2go but rarely getting a response. Or if they do get a reply, it’s an unhelpful auto-generated template that doesn’t resolve their issue.

For example:

“Worst customer support ever. All bots, zero customer service…I’ve sent so many emails and they keep saying they are working on it and promised someone would call me and nothing. All BS.”

Because Lucky2go outsources overseas, responses are perceived as scripted and oblivious to customers’ actual problems:

“Very poor customer service, the replies given were always uncertain.”

Without access to engaged support reps, travelers feel extremely frustrated and concerned about their bookings.

3. Complaints of Problems with Bookings

Finally, a number of Lucky2go reviewers report issues with their actual flight reservations:

  • Pending bookings that never get ticketed
  • Itineraries that end up being invalid or not allowed by the airline
  • Lucky2go failing to issue tickets for confirmed reservations
“I booked my flight to Miami and got reservation email from lucky2go but I can’t check this flight in Spirit Airlines…I want to make a refund if you can’t explain what is going on, because you steal my money.”

While many Lucky2go bookings seem to go through smoothly, the number of complaints about missing, canceled, or invalid airline tickets is definitely alarming. Some feel outright scammed when promised flights fall through.

Positive Lucky2go Reviews: Satisfied Customer Experiences

Despite the prevalence of negative reviews, Lucky2go does have some satisfied customers.

About 15% of their Trustpilot ratings are 5 stars. And another 6% are 4 stars.

In these positive testimonials, common themes include:

  • Appreciation for legitimately cheap flights
  • Smooth booking that went as expected
  • Pleasantly surprised the reservations ended up being valid
“I booked a flight on Tuesday last minute to Kos! I was skeptical until the last moment, because I couldn’t register my booking on the airline website…I messaged customer service twice, received prompt replies both times, reassuring me everything would be okay! And it was!!”

So while many report issues, others seem able to book affordable flights on Lucky2go that check out fine.

What explains these totally polarized booking experiences?

A few possibilities:

  • Problems likely arise more often with complex, multi-stop international itineraries where segments can get fouled up. More direct domestic bookings may have higher success.
  • Smaller regional airlines might cause hiccups more frequently than major international carriers. If both flight segments are on reputable global airlines, there’s less potential for trouble.
  • Lucky2go’s inventory seems very fluid. The cheapest promotional fares they advertise initially can sell out quickly. Later bookings are more vulnerable to issues.

While the exact causes are unclear, Lucky2go’s confusing pricing and lackluster support definitely undermine trust for many potential customers.

But some travelers do still manage to score deals that work out. So are the savings worth the risks involved?

Let’s break down Lucky2go’s full flight booking process next to understand exactly what customers experience.

Step-by-Step Lucky2go Booking Process (7 Stages)

To determine if Lucky2go is legit or a scam, the best method is walking through their full flight booking lifecycle step-by-step:

Step 1: Search

First, you use Lucky2go’s website or mobile app to search available flights.

This process works just like any flight aggregator. Enter your origin, destination, travel dates, passengers, etc.

After running the search, Lucky2go displays available flight options with prices. Often their fares look drastically lower than competing sites for similar routings.

So far, everything appears normal. But this is where advertised vs. actual prices often diverge…

Step 2: Select and Book

Seeing an unbeatable fare, you select your preferred Lucky2go flight and proceed to book.

On the passenger details and payment pages, prices look consistent with the cheap flight you initially chose.

You complete the booking and your credit card is charged.

Up to this point, everything still seems fine. It’s only after payment that problems arise for some customers…

Step 3: Get Charged More After Booking

Where things go sideways for many is what happens post-payment.

Within 1-2 days of booking, Lucky2go emails that the original fare is “no longer available.” Therefore, an additional fee of $50-150 per ticket is now charged.

This is where advertised costs diverge radically from the total price paid. It leaves customers feeling duped by classic bait-and-switch tactics.

While Lucky2go’s policies allow them to raise prices after booking, they set the expectation that advertised fares are final. This perceived deception damages trust.

Step 4: Receive Booking Confirmation

Assuming you pay the extra amount (or were one of the lucky ones who booked before the fares expired), Lucky2go eventually sends a booking confirmation and e-ticket by email.

This contains your full itinerary details and flight reservation codes to check-in directly with the operating airline.

However, some unlucky customers report this critical confirmation with valid ticket numbers never arrives…

Step 5: Flight Check-In

About 24 hours pre-departure, travelers get a final email from Lucky2go with e-tickets and links to web check-in with the airline.

This is the ultimate test whether your booking is ticketed and confirmed.

But again, some customers say this final notification never comes. Or the provided ticket numbers are invalid per the airline.

While many bookings check-in smoothly, this last stage is where some reservations catastrophically fall apart.

Step 6: Time of Travel

The moment of truth for Lucky2go bookings comes at the airport on day of travel.

Again, most customers do successfully fly with tickets booked through Lucky2go. But some encounter nasty surprises like:

  • Missing flight reservations forcing urgent rebooking at higher fares
  • Disallowed connections because of mismatched or invalid itineraries

Given the horror stories of customers left stranded, it’s understandable why many warn travelers to avoid booking through Lucky2go.

Step 7: Changes, Cancellations, Refunds

The final pain points arise if travelers need to adjust Lucky2go flights after purchase.

Customer frustration stems from:

  • Excessive change and cancellation fees
  • Strict policies blocking refunds in cases where they seem warranted
  • Unresponsive, unhelpful customer service

Together, these reinforce the feeling that once Lucky2go gets your money, you’re stuck with whatever happens.

Key Takeaways From Lucky2go’s Booking Process

Analyzing Lucky2go’s full booking lifecycle reveals:

  • Opaque pricing – Advertised prices often don’t match final amounts charged, damaging trust.
  • Technical issues – While most bookings succeed, the number of complaints about missing, invalid, or canceled “confirmed” tickets is disturbing.
  • Poor customer support – Unresponsive outsourced reps leave customers feeling abandoned when problems occur.
  • Stringent policies – Changes and refunds are severely restricted once booked.

For travelers who value flexibility, convenience, and support, mainstream OTAs like Expedia are likely a far safer choice over Lucky2go.

But for die-hard bargain hunters with ironclad plans and high risk-tolerance, Lucky2go can unlock stunning deals…at least on some bookings.

Let’s weigh final pros and cons to decide if this controversial site is right for you.

Is Lucky2go Legit or Scam: The Verdict

So after extensive analysis – is Lucky2go legitimate travel website or an outright scam?

Here is my conclusion:

Lucky2go has some serious red flags to consider. But the site does often provide real discounted international flights to those who book early and get lucky.

  • When flights go smoothly, Lucky2go delivers jaw-dropping low fares through creative fare mixing. This can unlock huge savings for adventurous budget travelers.
  • Some customers report booking flights 80% cheaper than anywhere else that ended up being 100% valid. The deals can be real for a subset of bookings.
  • Advertised prices frequently prove invalid. Final charged amounts often end up higher than quoted at booking. This bait-and-switch tactic rightfully upsets customers.
  • Negative reviews skewer Lucky2go for terrible outsourced customer support that leaves issues unresolved. Lack of human assistance causes massive distrust.
  • Complaints of invalid tickets and missing reservations, while not the majority, occur too frequently for comfort. Verifying via airline website is critical.
  • Opaque pricing, technical glitches, and draconian policies mean Lucky2go is certainly riskier than mainstream OTAs.

The Bottom Line:

Is lucky2go legit? Lucky2go is best suited only for extreme bargain hunters with high risk tolerance and flexible travel plans. Savvy travelers can sometimes score amazing deals, but headaches are possible.

For anyone who prioritizes reliability, convenience, and support over pure bottom-line savings, established OTAs like Expedia are a smarter choice.

But for adventurous souls with an ultra-tight budget, Lucky2go can provide real value…if you get lucky.

I hope this transparent investigation helps you determine if chancing it with Lucky2go aligns with your travel style and risk preferences! Feel free to share your own Lucky2go experiences in the comments below.

TravelGo Review

Is Travelgo.com Legit or a Scam? An In-Depth TravelGo Review

In recent times, online travel booking platforms have become increasingly popular, offering travelers convenience and competitive prices for flight reservations.

One such platform is TravelGo.com , which claims to provide affordable flight bookings for both domestic and international travel.

However, its legitimacy has been a subject of debate among travelers due to mixed user experiences and varying reviews.

In this in-depth review, we’ll explore the features, pros and cons, user reviews, and overall verdict to help you decide whether Travel Go is a trustworthy platform for your travel bookings.

What is TravelGo (Ly.Com)?

TravelGo ( https://www.travelgo.com/ ), also known as Ly.com , is an online travel agency that allows users to search for and book flights from various airlines. The platform claims to offer competitive prices on airfares, enabling travelers to find budget-friendly options for their journeys.

While the website functions as a flight aggregator, it does not operate airlines or provide its own travel services. Instead, TravelGo partners with established airlines to offer flight options to its users.

Pros of TravelGo

TravelGo offers competitive prices, a variety of payment options, easy search and comparison features, partnerships with established airlines, and a user-friendly website.

  • Competitive Prices – Some users have reported finding cheaper flight options through TravelGo compared to booking directly through airlines or other travel agencies. The platform’s ability to aggregate flight data from multiple sources can lead to cost savings for certain routes.
  • Variety of Payment Options – TravelGo accepts payments through credit cards, PayPal, WeChat, and AliPay, providing users with convenient payment choices. This flexibility makes it easier for travelers from different regions to complete their bookings.
  • Search and Compare – The platform allows users to search and compare flights from different airlines, making it easier to find the most suitable option based on their preferences and budgets. This feature streamlines the booking process for users looking for specific flight details.
  • Partnered with Established Airlines – TravelGo collaborates with well-known airlines like Virgin Australia, offering flights from reputable carriers. This partnership lends credibility to the platform’s flight options and can give users peace of mind when booking through TravelGo.
  • User-Friendly Website – The website design is relatively straightforward, enabling users to navigate and find flight options without much hassle. The booking process is intuitive, and users can complete their reservations with relative ease.

Cons of TravelGo

Below are some cons to consider before using TravelGo for your flight bookings.

  • Negative User Reviews – TravelGo has received a significant number of negative reviews, with complaints about poor customer service, difficulty reaching support, and unresolved issues. Many users have expressed frustration with the platform’s lack of responsiveness and lackluster assistance.
  • Lack of Information – Some users have raised concerns about the limited information available about the company, including its physical location and registration details. The absence of comprehensive company details can make it challenging for users to assess the platform’s credibility.
  • Passport Details Requirement – TravelGo asks for passengers’ passport details even for domestic flights, which may raise privacy and security concerns for some users. Requiring passport information for domestic travel can seem unnecessary and deter potential customers.
  • Uncertain Legitimacy – The abundance of negative reviews and the platform’s limited transparency raise questions about TravelGo’s legitimacy and reliability as a travel booking service. Users may hesitate to entrust their travel plans and personal information to a platform with uncertain credentials.

Why TravelGo Appears to be Legitimate?

TravelGo does appear to have some characteristics that may suggest legitimacy:

A. Website and Booking Platform

TravelGo has a functioning website where users can search for and book flights. The platform appears to offer flight options from various airlines, and users can enter their travel details to find available flights.

B. Accepted Payment Methods

According to user reviews, TravelGo accepts payments through various methods, including credit cards, PayPal, WeChat, and AliPay. Accepting multiple payment options can be a sign of a legitimate business.

C. User Reviews

While TravelGo has some negative reviews, it also has a few positive reviews where users have reported successful bookings and satisfactory experiences. User reviews can offer insights into a company’s services and credibility.

D. Contact Information

The platform provides contact details, including an email address and a phone number. Having accessible contact information is a positive sign as it allows users to reach out for assistance or inquiries.

E. Website Design

From the information provided, the website appears to be functional and reasonably well-designed, although it may lack some detailed information about the company itself.

F. Booking with Established Airlines

Users have mentioned booking flights with well-known airlines like Virgin Australia through TravelGo. Collaborating with reputable airlines can indicate that the platform is working with legitimate partners.

TravelGo Review Verdict

While I cannot definitively label TravelGo as a scam, there are numerous red flags and reasons to be cautious about using their services. It’s essential to be aware of these potential issues to protect yourself and make informed decisions when booking through any online platform.

Here are some reasons that might make you skeptical about TravelGo’s legitimacy:

A. Lack of Official Affiliations

TravelGo is not registered with reputable industry bodies such as AFTA (Australian Federation of Travel Agents) ‘s through ATAS (Australian Travel Accreditation Scheme) or other recognized travel associations. Established travel agencies usually have affiliations that provide consumer protection and reassurance.

B. Mandatory Passport Details for Domestic Flights

Requiring passengers to provide passport details for domestic flights is highly unusual and raises concerns about the platform’s intentions and potential misuse of sensitive information.

C. Inconsistent Customer Service

Numerous negative reviews highlight poor customer service from Travel Go. Delayed responses, unhelpful assistance, and difficulty in resolving issues have left customers frustrated and dissatisfied.

D. Obscure Background and Location

The platform’s Chinese origins and the lack of detailed information about the company’s background can make users skeptical about its legitimacy and trustworthiness.

E. Mixed User Reviews

While some users report successful bookings and competitive prices, there are also numerous negative reviews detailing problems with bookings, cancellations, and refunds, raising doubts about the platform’s reliability.

F. Lack of Trustworthy Testimonials

The absence of well-documented and verifiable testimonials from reputable sources may lead users to question the credibility of Travel Go’s claims.

G. Potential Scam Reports

There have been instances where users reported being scammed by travel agencies with similar names, leading to confusion and mistrust in the market.

User Reviews

User reviews of TravelGo are mixed, with some travelers expressing satisfaction with their bookings, citing competitive prices and smooth transactions.

Positive reviews often highlight successful experiences where users secured affordable flights with TravelGo.

TravelGo Customer Review 2

However, the platform has also received a substantial number of negative reviews like below. Many users have reported issues with customer service, refund processes, and communication, indicating potential risks when booking through this platform.

TravelGo Customer Review 1

Note: Remember, it’s best practice to review recent feedback from various customers across different review sites for a safer experience .

As with any online travel booking platform, caution is advised when using TravelGo . While some users have reported successful bookings and satisfactory experiences, others have faced significant challenges and frustrations.

Best PlayStation Portal Cases to Buy in 2024

Protect your portal.

Sarah Thwaites Avatar

A protective case is a portable device’s best friend, which is why you’re probably on the lookout for a PlayStation Portal case. We’re all capable of spilling coffee on our favorite pieces of tech or dropping them off the bed mid-snooze. Picking up a sturdy case can provide peace of mind and ensure that your screen stays pristine. To save you time searching, we’ve found the best PlayStation Portal cases on the market so you can give your pocket PS5 a fighting chance.

TL;DR - These are the best PlayStation Portal Cases

  • Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Pouch
  • Qoosea Sony Playstation Portal Silicone Case
  • Skull & Co. Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal
  • Orzly Carry Case designed for PlayStation Portal
  • CoBak Hard Case for PlayStation Portal

A wide variety of cases are available for the PlayStation Portal, each with its own approach to environmental resistance, device molding and storage solutions. To achieve the best protection for your PlayStation Portal , we recommend investing in a snap-on or carry case and a screen protector, too. Frequent flyers and road trip renegades are also more likely to benefit from a case with ample internal storage, such as pockets to secure cables and headphones for convenient access on the road.

1. Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Pouch

Best premium playstation portal case.

Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Pouch

  • The durable outer shell and internal cushioning ensure a secure fit
  • Flush with internal storage for all your accessories
  • High price point

Named almost entirely with travel case-friendly buzzwords, the Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Pouch is a high-end case with all the features you could hope for. Overzealous name aside, the case offers rugged protection through its tough Nylon outer. Inside, the padding is luxurious and molded to fit the contours of the device carefully. If you’re worried about the Portal getting jostled around in backpacks or at airport security, this product-specific mold will keep it in place to avoid the potential for damage.

However, your device isn’t the only consideration, as the Rugged Armor Pro Pouch features plenty of partitioned storage, offering room for SD cards, cables, and plugs. The safety-conscious among us can also relish the case’s hidden security pouch, where you can safeguard tracking fobs like Airtags or Tiles. The Rugged Armor Pro Pouch has a premium price tag that aligns with its considerate design. But if you want complete peace of mind when transporting your PlayStation Portal, you can’t go wrong here.

2. Qoosea Sony Playstation Portal Silicone Case

Best form-fitting playstation portal case.

Qoosea Sony Playstation Portal Silicone Case

  • The Silicon exterior allows for a comfortable grip while playing
  • Form-fitting structure helps prevent long-term wear on the device
  • Form-fitting silicon can stretch over the case’s lifecycle

Cases don’t always need to be big and bulky to get the job done, as evidenced by the Qoosea Sony PlayStation Portal Silicone Case. At 3.5 ounces, the Qoosea is a lightweight option that offers everyday protection from grease and dirt, intending to keep your PlayStation Portal pristine. Attaching it is as simple as sliding it onto the device and aligning it with the buttons and triggers. The Qoosea’s silicon exterior includes a ribbed palm section that not only allows for a solid grip but also fights against the inevitable sweaty hand slips that can happen when playing with portable devices. This is definitely something to consider if you’re streaming pulse-pumping horror games like Alan Wake 2 or Resident Evil 4 Remake .

The convenience of the slide-on case is a double-edged sword, however. While it can protect from wear and tear, the Portal will be left vulnerable when facing larger spills and big drops. To combat this problem, the Qoosea would pair well with a rigid shell-based travel case for complete protection.

3. Skull & Co. Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal

Best budget playstation portal case.

Skull & Co. Carrying Case for PlayStation Portal

  • Premium design with a budget price tag
  • Water and shock resistance provide peace of mind when on the road
  • Small internal pockets limit what you can carry

The Skull & Co. carrying case for PlayStation Portal may be a budget option, but that doesn’t mean you miss out on premium features. The case's exterior is a hard shell that boasts water and shock resistance, a boon for students who just want to shove the PlayStation Portal in their backpack and get on with their day. The cushioning is nothing to sniff at either, as the fuzzy internal padding is molded to match the shape of the Portal to avoid applying pressure to the triggers and buttons when stowed.

To keep the device secure, the Skull & Co. case has a flip tongue that doubles as an (admittedly small) mesh pocket. Regardless, it offers enough space for a set of small headphones or a cable. The case includes a microfiber cleaning cloth, which is a helpful addition to the overall package. At $24.99, the Skull & Co. offering is nothing to grumble at.

4. Orzly Carry Case designed for PlayStation Portal

Best everyday playstation portal case.

Orzly Carry Case designed for PlayStation Portal

  • EVA material casing is easy to clean
  • The internal pocket is large and padded to protect accessories
  • The flexible outer shell isn’t ideal for packing

Match your Portal to your personality with the Orzly Carry case, whose smooth, durable exterior offers ample support for your prized gaming possession. In addition to the typical shock resistance similar to other hard shell cases, the Orzly is made of EVA material, a flexible polymer that can be cleaned easily as the case begins to wear over time. Another benefit is that you can choose between various colorways, like vibrant red or pastel pink, so you’re not stuck with the typical tech-y gray.

Unlike some cases that use stretchy mesh for pockets, the storage within the Orzly carry case is a large padded section separated by a zip. Flat and fragile accessories like SD cards or small hard drives fit comfortably and securely without applying pressure on the Portal's screen when closed. If you are worried about the screen, even with the padding, the Orzly has a microfibre tongue and velcro tab at the base of the case, keeping your Portal secure while on the move and creating an additional buffer between the internal storage and the device.

5. CoBak Hard Case for PlayStation Portal

Best playstation portal case for storage.

CoBak Hard Case for PlayStation Portal

  • Plenty of pockets for cables and accessories
  • Microfibre tongue keeps the screen protected when packed
  • The exterior isn’t very exciting to look at

The CoBak is a hard case for your PlayStation Portal that is chock-a-block with storage solutions. The roof has a zipped stretchy partition, making it the perfect home for thumb grips and headphones, where the base has ample room for a plug and cable combination.

The main compartment of the CoBak case is molded to fit the PlayStation Portal, creating a snug fit for the device. When you’re heading out, the fold-down microfibre tongue and velcro tab keep it safe and smudge-free. The look might not be anything to write home about. Regardless, the CoBak would work well for the accessory-conscious who want to travel with storage devices, peripherals and more.

How big is the Playstation Portal?

The Playstation Portal is approximately 13.3 x 5.9 x 3.7 inches in size. Larger than the Nintendo Switch , it’s more akin to the Steam Deck or ASUS Rog Ally in size. The screen of the Portal is also 8 inches and makes up a large part of the device.

Is the PlayStation Portal worth it for traveling?

The PlayStation Portal’s backpack-friendly size and streaming capabilities make it an ideal candidate to take on the go. However, if you intend to use it exclusively for travel, there are some important caveats to consider before shelving your Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck in the Portal’s favor.

The PlayStation Portal uses Remote Play via Wi-Fi to stream your PS5 games, so you’ll need a strong and consistent connection to access your library. If you find yourself on a train or in a hotel with less than the required 5Mbps, you won’t be able to connect.

One more thing to consider: your PS5 will need to be kept in Rest Mode and not switched off completely; otherwise, the Portal won’t be able to stream your library.
