Suga's Agust D Tour Set List

Suga has released two solo albums to date, his debut mixtape, "Agust D," which was released in 2016, and his sophomore solo release, "D-2," which was released in 2020. Suga will undoubtedly perform songs from these albums while on tour, likely including his singles "Agust D," "Give It to Me," and "Daechwita."

The only aspect of the set list that is up in the air is whether Suga will release any new music ahead of the tour. Big Hit has not announced any plans for new music from Suga at the moment, however, so only time will tell.

Wild West – 5 days

Overall, we had a great experience. This was our first bus tour, and our main tour guide, Roberto, was wonderful! He was very communicative and helpful. He fully explained where we were going and what we were doing and answered any and all questions, and it was interesting to see him switch so effortlessly between Italian and English. He deserves a raise for his five-star service. However, the other tour guides we interacted with on the last day seemed the complete opposite due to their incredibly non-upfront communications skills. For example, when we left the hotel to head back to LA, we were not told how long the trip was going to take, if and when we were going to stop, just nothing; they made me wonder what sort of criteria you have to meet to be a tour guide. Also, one made some slightly racist comments, which if you are dealing with an international clientele, I feel like you should learn to be more neutral in your interactions with others. It took some adjusting having to be on such a strict schedule. Some places you stopped hours at; some maybe 20 minutes. One time our bus's AC didn't work, so given the heat wave, you can imagine what that felt like. But generally it felt like being on a passenger on a road trip. If you want to see a lot in a compressed amount of time and don't mind not being so in control of planning or on a full bus, this tour is worth giving a shot. It definitely was a memorable adventure.

Mighty 5 From Las Vegas

Excellent tour. Our guide Robin, was very informative and had an entertaining flair. We went to a series of awe-inspiring viewpoints and did some wonderful hikes in what were referred to as “the mighty five” of Utah. An unforgettable trip with a terrific group of people and a very knowledgeable, gregarious guide.

Hiking Utah\'s Mighty 5 Tour

Hiking Utah's Mighty 5

Tour itinerary was well planned in order to see and hike Utah’s Big 5 National parks in 9 days. Our guide Rachel was excellent and did her best to manage 12 clients, drive, buy food, supervise food preparations and clean up, and break camp. However, given the amount of organization needed for camping, meals and driving required; and overseeing the often difficult and strenuous hikes, it would have been a better trip if there were 2 guides instead of only one. This trip went very well because we were an older group with many professionals with administration experience who pitched in to help the trip go smoothly. If a group on this tour does not blend as well as we did, don’t pitch in to do their share of work, and/or do not have experience working as a-team with administration experience, it may not go so well or more likely be a disaster. To avoid this, better to have 2 guides.

Magnificent West - 7 Days

Excellent tour stops and well worth the views. Plentiful bathroom and snack breaks, but the bus ride is long. However you cover 4 wonderful states, a drive I'd never do on my own. Edwardo was excellent tour guide and Roberto was nice but not as informative. Each hotel was clean and comfortable. Most offered a free hot breakfast. I recommend the tour and think it's a good value.

7 day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Tour

Outstanding tour and tour guide. The trip was well organized, with half of the guests camping and half of the guests lodging. John, our tour guide, kept us informed and entertained us during the entire trip. Only criticism is that we had the same lunch just about every day. Highly recommend.

Yellowstone / Grand Teton 4 Day / 3 Night Wildlife Adventure

This trip was fantastic! The group totaled 4 plus the guide Cade. We were not disappointed in wildlife viewing. We saw Black wolves, elk, big horn sheep and bison were up close and personal. Cade is an excellent guide and the trip would not have been the same without him. Cade knows both Teton and Yellowstone National parks like the back of his hand. He answers all questions and is an easy person to be around. Did I mention black bears, moose, Old Faithful and more. Fantastic trip! For birders, the bald eagle feasting on carcass and several other raptors. But, communication from Brushbuck is only when necessary for them. Don't let it stop you though. Hotels were luxe and transportation too. Loved it!

Alaska Kenai & Denali Adventure Tour

Alaska Kenai & Denali Adventure

Our Chief Experience Officer Brianna Collins made our trip so special, memorable, enjoyable, and easy! She had everything planned out perfectly and was very punctual! She had a great attitude, positive energy, sense of humor, and was very professional and accommodating! If you get a chance to take a tour with Brianna Collins as your Chief Experience Officer, you will be very glad you did!

7 Day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Camping Tour Tour

7 Day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Camping Tour

We thoroughly enjoyed the 7-day tour of the US southwest . We love the destinations included in the tour, every place we visited is on our bucket list. I wanted to pinch myself every day that I visited those iconic and beautiful places as shown in my photos below. We enjoyed all the extra, optional experiences that were suggested by the tour guide. They added more fun to the tour. The Hummer tour in Moab, Utah was one of the optional experiences and it was a blast! Not only it’s fun, you get to see the amazing scenery during the sunset. One previous review mentioned he or she was forced to participate in the Navajo taco dinner in Monument Valley. That comment is not true. You have a choice not to do that and the guide can make a different arrangement for you. The optional Navajo taco dinner is one of the highlights of the tour that we will remember for a long time. It would be a shame not to have this cultural experience when you get to meet Navajo people when you are in the Navajo Nation! Our tour guide, John did a fantastic job. He was full of enthusiasm and energy. He kept the tour well organized and always provided information we needed. We highly recommend the tour.

Majestic Alaska (10 Days) Tour

Majestic Alaska (10 Days)

In general things went very well. However, At the Denali location there was a shortage of staff which prevented full service at the Park, Ie. not all dinning venues were normal and our room service such as daily service was missing. We were told, staff shortage due to Canadian employees may have left due to concern of border being closed into Canada. Hotel dysfunction on a limited basis due to that concern. On our last day at the Anchorage Hilton room service was missing also. Not sure why. Most other activities were well supplied/performed. We were pleased.with our Tour Director Tyler, Bus Driver Les and Health coordinator Carol., Some other venues were a bit restricted due to COVID-19 concerns which appear to be out of control of Tourradar. We loved Valdez,, Fairbanks, Anchorage and Kanai Fjords National Park, as well as the Athabascan Village and flat boat ride and other amenities such as the Husky Dog Farm. Overall pleased, except as noted above. The weather cooperated 100%.

Reviews of USA Tours in August

I love my tour guide Pasquale. He is the most sweetest, friendliest, kind, generous, and genuine tour guide I know. He really knows everything during my trip. He’s very easy going and I had the best experience ever in the 5 days I was traveling. Amazing experience and I would highly recommend Pasquale if you wanna travel with him and experience so much travelling for Wild West tour. Thank you so much an amazing and unforgettable experience.
the best way to explore the vastness and glory of the Utah desert is by camping and hiking in small groups. I enjoyed this trip immensely, it was challenging enough but not too much. Our guide was a brave and resourceful powerful woman. I am planning my next trip with you already!

Ghost has announced details of its summer 2023 American tour, dubbed “Re-Imperatour USA.”

The band is set to kick off the new run of dates in Concord, CA, on August 2, touring across the country until September 11, when it will wrap things up with a huge show at LA’s Kia Forum. It will be joined on the dates by special guest Amon Amarth.

Tickets for the 27-date tour will be available through Citi cardmembers’ and artists’ pre-sales from tomorrow (February 14). Following that, tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday (17) at 10am local time. For more details and to purchase, visit Ticketmaster .

The “Re-Imperatour USA” tour news follows Ghost holding its first-ever pop-up event at LA’s Whisky A Go Go venue earlier this month. “Metal Myths Presents: Ghost – Reverence & Resurrection” paid tribute to the classic 1969 era of Ghost, a band that didn’t actually form until almost four decades later.

The exhibit featured artifacts that had never been publicly displayed before, including the band’s 1960 costumes and ghoul masks, rare magazine covers, and more from a treasure trove of ephemera.

Meanwhile, Ghost also recently shared a new version of its track “Spillways,” featuring guest vocals from Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott. The new take on the song featured in Chapter 15 of Ghost’s long-running series of webisodes, with the installment in question documenting a karaoke session that goes awry in a spectacular and supernatural fashion.

In the midst of BTS ‘ hiatus, Suga has become the first BTS member to embark on a solo tour , with a slate of dates scheduled around the world this spring, including a U.S. run. Announced in February 2023, Min Yoon-gi titled his tour under his BTS stage name “ Suga “, as well as his other stage moniker, Agust D.

Even though all seven members of BTS are exploring solo projects right now (and completing their mandatory military service ), Suga has been releasing his own self-produced music for a few years now. Back in 2016, he dropped a debut self-titled mixtape as Agust D, then followed that project up in 2020 with another mixtape, D-2 . Suga has also done a bunch of production work for other artists recently, including Psy , the Japanese singer Ømi, and his BTS bandmate Jung Kook.

Suga’s Agust D tour will kick off April 26 in New York and will span the U.S. before making its way to Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and soon-to-be announced Japan dates. But just like any previous BTS tour, tickets are selling out faster than you can add to cart — but don’t stress. If you’re an ARMY looking to get Suga tickets to the Agust D tour, read on to find out where to buy Suga concert tickets online even after they sell out.

How to Get Suga Tickets Online

Where can you buy Suga tickets to the Agust D Tour? Tickets to the Agust D Tour went on sale on March 3 on Ticketmaster and sold out almost immediately. Ticketmaster were prioritizing BTS Army Membership holders, then those who were part of the Ticketmaster Verified Fan platform .

Suga Agust D 2023 Tour Dates

Having grown as both a producer and rapper for BTS since the group’s debut in 2013, the global superstar will kick off the U.S. run of their “Suga/Agust D” solo tour with two shows at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York — outside New York City — on April 26 and 27.

Suga will then play one show in Newark, New Jersey, three in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago), and three in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg wraps with two gigs in Oakland on May 16 and 17. After touring the U.S., Suga will head to Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, before returning to Seoul, South Korea, for two shows on June 24 and 25. A run of dates in Japan will be announced soon.

AUGUST BURNS RED will release a new album, "Death Below" , on March 24 via SharpTone Records .

"It's no secret that the past few years have been extremely dark and challenging," Brubaker said. " 'Death Below' is here as a result of that time in each our lives and the emotions that came with it. We were motivated by uncertainty, fear, outrage, and triumph. I feel this is the darkest, most personal album we've ever written, and I couldn't be more proud of what the five of us made together."

"Death Below" features guest spots from KILLSWITCH ENGAGE singer Jesse Leach , guitarist Jason Richardson of ALL THAT REMAINS , as well as JT Cavey of ERRA and Spencer Chamberlain of UNDEROATH .

AUGUST BURNS RED is likely the only metal act ever described as "thrillingly empathetic" ( Kerrang! ). It's a testament to the ferocious band's ability to recognize and connect with the mixture of brokenness and hope found in their audience and within themselves. A hard-working collective with a shockingly stable lineup for the vast majority of their career, AUGUST BURNS RED pour every ounce of themselves into their music. Atmospheric, riff-laden, aggressive bursts of controlled chaos, filled with shifting time signatures and tempos, deliver confessional, self-reflective, and authentic emotion.

Tour stops with LAMB OF GOD , KILLSWITCH ENGAGE , PARKWAY DRIVE and BRING ME THE HORIZON ; several major international hard rock festivals ( Rock Am Ring , Download and Aftershock , to name a few); and the Vans Warped Tour are among the destinations around the world to witness AUGUST BURNS RED 's live prowess. Massive headlining treks celebrating tenth anniversaries for "Constellations" and "Leveler" demonstrated the enduring relevance of the band’s catalog, nearly 20 years into AUGUST BURNS RED 's storied career. 2020's "Guardians" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 's Hard Music, Rock Albums and Vinyl Albums charts.

Revolver , which put AUGUST BURNS RED on its cover the same year, observed the band's "embrace the pain so well." It's a truth never more evident than on "Death Below" , AUGUST BURNS RED 's stunning ninth studio album. Recorded with longtime producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland , "Death Below" encompasses all of the pissed-off strength of the band's past without sacrificing an ounce of catchy, melodic might. "Death Below" boasts guest appearances from Jesse Leach ( KILLSWITCH ENGAGE ), Spencer Chamberlain ( UNDEROATH ), Jason Richardson ( ALL THAT REMAINS ) and JT Cavey ( ERRA ).

How to buy Taylor Swift tickets: Eras Tour dates and prices compared

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, but it's unknown if any of those songs will make their way to the tour setlist.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resume on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets range from $392 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £978 (London, United Kingdom, on June 22). The latter is around $1,248 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $450 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $549 and $683, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,045 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 8) to $2,081 (Miami, Florida, on October 19). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,200 and $1,800. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,133 and $2,212, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

BTS' Suga Announced His First Solo World Tour

The rapper and singer will hold 11 shows in the U.S.

BTS is set to start their mandatory military service soon, but they’re giving their fans a proper send off before then. In addition to the individual solo projects, albums, and collaborations they’ve all released, Suga will become the first member to embark on his own solo world tour.

The group’s charismatic rapper, songwriter, and producer announced his first-ever global tour on Tuesday, which will take him to cities across the U.S., Southeast Asia, South Korea, and Japan. On his own, the member will play arena stages — and likely sell them out, too. The tour, called Agust D, named after his 2016 solo mixtape and his other stage name, kicks off in late April and will likely wrap up three months later in July with a few dates yet to be announced in Japan.

In the U.S., Suga is scheduled to play huge venues like New Jersey’s Prudential Center and Los Angeles’ Kia Forum — two arenas with a seat capacity of over 17,000. Per the tour schedule, he’s set to play multiple nights in some cities, which will hopefully ease some of the overwhelming fan demand (and ticketing nightmares).

Last we checked, Suga was meant to kick off his military duties in March 2023, but given the scheduling of the tour, that seems to have changed. It is likely he’ll instead enlist following the tour. NME reported that the boyband member will also not enter active duty as previously thought, and will instead fulfill his military requirements as a social service agent.

In addition to his 2016 mixtape Agust D , Suga also released D-2 , his second solo mixtape, in 2020. This tour will finally give him the opportunity to perform both of those projects live. For everything you need to know about attending Suga’s tour from the full tour schedule to how to buy tickets, read on.

Traveler’s Guide

Comparing destinations: which one is right for you.

Caught in the delightful dilemma of picking the perfect August family destination?

San Francisco is where the hills echo with the clang of cable cars, and the scent of fresh sourdough fills the air.

Many of my family’s weekends often revolve around strolling Pier 39 or gazing at the Golden Gate.

San Fran’s urban charm is unmatched.

But when we crave sandy shores and wild waves, the Outer Banks in North Carolina calls to us.

It’s a completely different scene, more laid back and close to nature.

There’s nothing quite like watching wild horses on the beach or casting a fishing line with the kids.

Then there’s Aspen, Colorado.

It’s where the mountains meet the sky, and the world seems to stand still.

Our ski trips there are legendary, and it’s like living in a snow globe.

Each destination has its own heartbeat.

Urban vibes in San Francisco, beachy ease in Outer Banks, or mountain majesty in Aspen—whatever your family’s mood, these places have you covered.

The 44 Most Anticipated Tours of 2024: Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, and More

By Pitchfork

Mitski Burna Boy Olivia Rodrigo and more

It’s looking like a busy year for some of the world’s biggest touring artists, with packed schedules from Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Bad Bunny, Foo Fighters, the Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Green Day, and many more. A few touring institutions, meanwhile, are just wrapping up, from Adele’s time in Las Vegas to Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden residency and Bob Dylan’s seemingly never-ending Rough and Rowdy Ways trek. Some things, however, just never seem to change: You can expect the Ty Segalls and King Gizzards of the world to feature on these roundups till kingdom come, with reliable indie-rock staples like Destroyer, Wednesday, and Alvvays still out in force fighting for the cause, too.

After a residency that has spanned the best part of a year and brought hundreds of thousands of Adele fans to Las Vegas, the Tottenham superstar is closing the run with dates from January through June. “This residency, these shows have changed my life. I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have,” she said in the announcement. “It’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong! So let’s go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever!” –Jazz Monroe

Jennifer Lopez Cancels Multiple Dates on ‘This Is Me… Now’ Tour Amid Weak Ticket Sales

Jennifer Lopez Variety Cover Story

Jennifer Lopez  has canceled seven dates of her first North American tour in five years, in support of her new album “This Is Me… Now ” and its pair of companion films.

The dates spanning Aug. 20-31 in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans and Houston were listed as canceled on Ticketmaster at some point on Wednesday; the Cleveland and Houston dates apparently had been removed from the itinerary earlier, as they were part of the tour’s originally announced itinerary on Feb. 15 but are no longer present on the site at all. An u pdated itinerary can be found on her social media accounts.

The album, tour and two films are part of a self-financed $20 million three-part multimedia project examining, as Variety described in a recent cover article , “Lopez’s life as a serial romantic,” regarding her reunion with actor Ben Affleck, whom she married in 2022 nearly two decades after the high-profile superstar couple originally split in the wake of their flop 2003 romantic comedy “Gigli.”

A rep for the artist did not immediately respond to Variety ’s request for comment; the cancellation notice reads simply, “Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event. No action is required to obtain a refund.”

The cancellations come after Lopez’s new album — her first in a decade — also titled “This Is Me…Now,” debuted at a disappointing No. 38 on the Billboard 200 last month.

The project, which also includes the musical film, “This Is Me…Now: A Love Story,” and a documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” is apparently intended as a love-conquers-all statement.

“Everybody thought I was crazy,” Lopez told Variety . “And by the way, I thought I was crazy.”

Beautiful fjord in Norway

Last updated: January 2024

You’ve decided you want to travel more this year (good on you), but you’re struggling to choose your next destination. Surely there’s an easier way than trawling through endless travel mags and guidebooks for the answers, right? That’s where our ultimate month-by-month travel guide comes in: your easily digestible list of places to visit, things to experience, and amazing weather to chase around the world.

Onto August now, and in Europe , things are really hotting up! There are ample active adventures to be had the world over and embarking on a safari is still very much an option. Whether you’ve always wanted to admire the Victoria Falls in Zambia , sip a pint or two of stout in Ireland or make the journey along the fearsome Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea . Here’s your guide on where to travel in August.

1. Slovenia

A group of kayakers in Slovenia

Compared to its widely visited neighbours, Slovenia is a fairly new kid on the European travel block. But people are slowly beginning to realise the pull of this small yet charming nation. From the turquoise waters of Lake Bled to the country’s emerging wine scene, there’s plenty to be enjoyed. Not to mention it’s an active traveller’s paradise with a range of exciting outdoor escapades.

At the height of summer temperatures can soar, making the beguiling Slovene Riviera the perfect spot for relaxing in the sun away from the hordes of tourists peppering Italy and Croatia ’s beaches. You can always hide from the heat by heading to the alpine northwest for a leisurely walk or hike. Alternatively, why not climb aboard a raft on the Soča River for a white-water thrill ride? A super fun way to cool off!

2. Tanzania

This East African gem has so much to offer. Whether you’re intrigued by fascinating local cultures, pristine white sand beaches, extraordinary natural landscapes or incredible wildlife, you’ll find it all (and so much more) in Tanzania . Get ready to head off on a safari around the Ngorongoro Crater in search of rare black rhinos, or shop for indigenous wares at Mwigobero Market on the edge of Lake Victoria.

August brings about the best time for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro , Africa’s highest mountain and the tallest free-standing volcano in the world. There are several different routes to the summit, and these vary considerably in terms of ease and price. Here at Intrepid, we offer hikers the Marangu Route (the only trail with hut accommodation), Machame Route (the most popular) and Rongai Route (the easiest). Which will you choose?

3. Argentina

Views of Iguazu Falls from the Argentinian side

Dmitry Pichugin/Shutterstock

When many of us think of Argentina, our minds drift to thoughts of the buzzing capital, Buenos Aires — home to the astonishing Recoleta Cemetery, the brightly coloured district of La Boca, the space-age Puente de la Mujer footbridge and an abundance of top-notch eateries. Not forgetting it’s the home of tango too. Buenos Aires celebrates this sensuous dance style with a festival all of its own over two weeks in August.

There’s more to this South American favourite than its cities though. What about Mendoza’s vineyards, Patagonia’s glaciers and the remarkable Iguazu Falls? Despite being a drier month, these waterfalls are still impressive. Lower water levels lead rock faces to peek through the flow, making them appear even more spectacular. Be sure to spend two days at this world wonder, including one on the contrasting Brazilian side.

4. Malaysia

From Chinese to Indonesian, Thai to Indian, Malaysia is a melting pot of different cultural influences. And its multi-ethnic makeup is part of what makes it such a fascinating place to visit. For instance, you could be soaking up Hindu history at the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, before marvelling at the modern architecture of the national mosque and then dining on dumplings in Chinatown.

Throughout August the weather in Malaysia is mixed, with tropical downpours not uncommon. But the east coast is gifted with long sunny days that offer flawless diving and snorkelling conditions. Hari Merdeka, Malaysian Independence Day, is celebrated on the 31 st and gives you the chance to party with the locals. Towns and cities are decorated with flags and a big parade is held in front of the king in Kuala Lumpur.

View over Slea Head in Kerry, Ireland

Rolf G Wackenberg/Shutterstock

Ah, the Emerald Isle, a place of astounding natural beauty, ice-cold pints of stout, intriguing history and toe-tapping music. Known for its unreliable weather, the peak of Irish summer is the ideal time to visit this often wet and windy destination. Get ready to while away the hours on walks along miles of deserted sandy coastline and fill your lungs with that fresh country air.

If you’re a bit of a Star Wars buff, then a visit to Kerry is a must. Its craggy cliffs, secluded bays and the spooky Skellig Islands form the backdrop of the world-famous franchise’s most recent episodes. Be sure to make the trip around Slea Head too for amazing views back over the peninsula, keeping an eye out for the ancient beehive huts. A drive over the Connor Pass also provides epic vistas that are able to rival those found in New Zealand.

  • 8-day Northern & Southern Ireland

Crocodiles, elephants and leopards – oh my! Animal lovers will adore exploring Zambia’s national parks, including the South Luangwa Reserve where the river is overcrowded by humongous hippos. August marks the middle of the dry season here, bringing with it warm days, clear skies and cooler nights. Making it a brilliant time for viewing game before the daytime temperatures become too hot to bear.

Aside from the awe-inspiring wildlife in Zambia, you’ll also find the incredible Victoria Falls, called Mother Nature’s ‘Smoke that Thunders’ by some, because its spray can be seen from more than 30 miles away. Whilst the falls frequently steal the show, there’s even more to be enjoyed in this part of Africa, from browsing markets for handcrafted keepsakes to meeting isolated communities spreading centuries worth of traditional wisdom.

Getting back to nature tops the itinerary when it comes to spending summer in Norway, and its ever-changing landscape is a serious sight to behold. Remote islands, deep fjords, rugged coastline, soaring mountains, glinting glaciers, the Northern Lights – the list goes on. Plus, you’ll have the chance to try out all manner of al fresco activities, from out-of-this-world hiking to hair-raising rafting.

Admittedly visiting Norway in August can err a little on the pricey side, but it’s definitely worth the investment as it happens to be the best time to visit the Western Fjords. These sea-flooded valleys are blue-hued and fringed by steep cliffs, making them one of the most picturesque destinations on the planet. You can also go camping and take in the scenery on a hike along one of the many marked trails.

8. Papua New Guinea

Hill views over the Kokoda Track, Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea’s dry season runs from June to September, when the country experiences warm days and relatively low rainfall. It’s a fantastic time to visit if you’re interested in hiking the Kokoda Track. The trail is drenched in history, as it was once the site of a gory World War II battle between Japan and the Allies. Be warned though: choosing to accept the Kokoda challenge is not a decision to be taken lightly.

Spanning a massive 96 kilometres, the Kokoda Track is a single-file walking route buried deep in the steamy jungle. You’ll follow in the footsteps of the soldiers who fought over Port Moresby, learning amazing tales of bravery as you go. You’ll come across stirring mountainside memorials and meet the friendly-faced locals living in far-flung villages that pop up along the way. Prepare to push your own physical and mental boundaries to the limit!

Tibetan opera performance in Lhasa, Tibet

Lian Deng/Shutterstock

Lots of travellers come to Tibet for a taste of its intense spirituality, explore cliffside Buddhist temples, witness chanting monks and bask in the tranquillity of its many magnificent monasteries. It also boasts Everest views, the opportunity for numerous high-altitude treks and the world’s highest railway on the route to Lhasa.

August is a time of celebrations in Tibet, including the Nagchu Horse Racing Festival held in the country’s northern grasslands. It’s here you’ll see traditionally dressed locals pitching their tents by the track, bartering, singing and dancing. Another is the Shoton Festival (or sour milk banquet), which commemorates the end of the monk’s meditation season. People gather to eat specially cultivated yoghurt, watch local opera performances and engage in other religious activities.

You might think, given the heat, that the suggestion of travelling to Turkey in August is a slightly stupid one. But, it’s a brilliant time to take in the sights of Cappadocia and Istanbul, whilst the tourists choose to flock to the country’s many coastal resorts. If you fancy a few days of R&R by the sea, Kas is a great place to explore. Its crystal-clear waters make for dreamy snorkelling and you can even kayak over its ancient sunken city!

People will tell you there’s nothing quite like the alien landscapes of Cappadocia and they’d be right. Spend your time ambling through underground cities and admiring its fairy chimneys from above on a sunrise balloon ride, before swapping calm for chaos on an exploration of the country’s capital, Istanbul. Best places to travel in August

Alaska

1.  Alaska

August is slightly rainier in Alaska than earlier summer months, but with fewer crowds and lower prices, the benefits often outweigh the weather risks. It’s a wonderful month to spot caribou, wolves and golden eagles in Denali National Park, as well as grizzly bears, who are busy hunting salmon so they can fatten up before hibernation. They also nibble on the season’s abundant berries – blueberries are particularly fat and juicy in Alaska – and you can also taste them at the annual Alyeska Berry Festival in Anchorage. Don’t miss Alaska State Fair in Palmer, which marks the last days of summer with concerts, fairground rides and street food.

Slovenia

2.  Slovenia

Slovenia might just be Europe’s worst-kept secret. In August, the capital Ljubljana and Lakes Bled and Bohinj are packed with locals and tourists alike, but if you do want to guarantee a crowd-free trip, there are plenty of lesser-known corners of this compact country to explore. As the holiday resorts sizzle, alpine regions offer respite from the heat, making it the perfect time to climb Mount Triglav. But if you really want to get off the beaten track, head east to wander around the pretty towns of Maribor and Ptuj, or go wine tasting in the surrounding Styrian vineyards. Slovenia has gorgeous towns around every corner, from Idrija to Kamnika via Radovljica, Brežice and all the rest.

Edinburgh, Scotland

3.  Edinburgh, Scotland

There is literally no better time to finally tick Edinburgh off your bucket list than in August, when the famous Edinburgh Fringe  (the biggest arts festival in the entire world) takes over the city. Be you a comedy, theatre, film or music person, the Fringe is a fun, fast, chaotic burst of all things silly and creative. There’s bars, street food, nights out and more, and we’ll be reviewing all the shows you need to know about, so keep your eyes peeled.

Iceland

4.  Iceland

There’s never a bad time to visit Iceland, right? August is the warmest month of the year here, but do remember that that means daily averages between 10 and 15 degrees celsius, so it is hardly sweltering. Still, balmy for Iceland, and visiting this gorgeous part of the world during the ubiquitously-bright summer months is an experience in itself. The grass is a little greener during August, and the warmer weather allows Iceland’s wonderful wildlife the chance to cavort through the fields. Yes, it is just like a fairytale.

East Africa

5.  East Africa

All kinds of adventures await in East Africa in August. The Great Migration is in full swing, meaning wildlife-spotting opportunities abound in Kenya’s Maasai Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, and it’s also one of the best times of year to track silverback gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda. Beach bum? Into your snorkelling and scuba diving? The weather is warm and dry (and the waters brimming with marine life) on Pemba Island and Zanzibar.

Seattle, USA

6.  Seattle, USA

The Pacific Northwest has a reputation for being, how do we say this, a little bit drizzly. What is the best way to ensure good weather when visiting? Nothing is certain in this life, of course, but heading to Seattle and its surroundings in August is your best bet. The warm weather means outdoor activities aplenty, from city markets and food festivals to embracing nearby nature, while the ferries are also at their busiest during this time.

Discover the best things to do in Seattle

Sri Lanka

7.  Sri Lanka

Beach lovers will have the pick of the sand in Sri Lanka in August, with good weather expected pretty much everywhere in the north, east and west. Lower rainfall means an altogether more relaxed time, and August also represents the tail-end of the low season in Sri Lanka, so fewer crowds. It isn’t unusual to see blue whales here at this time of year too, and who wouldn’t want to see the world’s largest animal doing its thing?

Riga, Latvia

8.  Riga, Latvia

If you want an affordable European break in August, make it Riga. With its colourful old town and beautiful parks, it’s easy to while away the summer days here without breaking the bank. The warmest month of the year sees the capital come to life with open-air concerts, street performances, pop-up food stalls and firework shows.

Buenos Aires

9.  Buenos Aires

It’s winter in Buenos Aires, but the low season is the best time to live like a local, as residents often escape the city during the busier summer months. Culturally the capital is very much alive and kicking, with the two-week-long Tango Festival and World Cup showcasing the best of Argentina’s national dance with free performances, workshops and talks, as well as the pro-competition.

Discover the best  things to do in Buenos Aires

Bosnia and Herzegovina

10.  Bosnia and Herzegovina

A word of warning; it can get pretty darn hot in Bosnia and Herzegovina in August. That is more true in Herzegovina than Bosnia (Mostar tends to hover around the 40C mark), but refreshing salvation is at hand in the shape of the country’s fantastic mountains. Hiking in Bosnia and Herzegovina is still developing, but an enthusiastic group of organisations have opened up mountains like Prenj, Maglaj (the country’s highest) and Vlašić, not to mention the Olympic mountains around Sarajevo. Keep to the trails though, for your own safety.

Visiting Iceland in August is lovely because the country is still lush and green, with full accessibility. The winter weather in Iceland restricts access to some regions due to the extreme weather, snow, and ice, but this isn’t much of a concern during the summer months.

So, does it actually get dark in Iceland in August?

That depends on when you visit in August. If you’re coming to Iceland specifically to see the midnight sun, aim to plan your trip for early August, when the days are longer, as they will gradually get shorter as the month goes on. The midnight sun is dwindling by late August and the nights are becoming longer again. By the end of August, you can expect about 18 hours of daylight, with a long twilight period.

Although the Icelandic summer is well known for the phenomenal midnight sun, the locals welcome a bit of darkness to make up for some sleepless summer nights.

Northern Lights over Kirkjufell mountain

By the end of August, Iceland only has a couple of hours of dark night skies. This is when the season’s first aurora boraelis sightings appear and northern light tours start operating. It's still a matter of luck whether you’ll see them, and you would have to stay up really late to have a chance!

Seeing the northern lights requires solar activity, no cloud cover, and a dark sky. This is why they begin to appear again in late August, but if the aurora borealis are high on your must-see list, August isn’t the best time to see the northern lights.

The North Atlantic Puffin

Iceland is well-known for its unpredictable weather, which sometimes can put a damper on an otherwise wonderful journey. The country has many natural wonders to explore, such as majestic glaciers, cascading waterfalls, bursting volcanoes, and bubbling hot springs, and the best part is the weather won't get in the way of your adventures, making August a good time to visit Iceland.

August in Iceland is in that sweet spot when the nights are getting darker, but the days are still sunny and temperate. The weather in Iceland in August is mild, sunny, and occasionally just a little bit rainy.

Generally, the weather in South Iceland in August changes between grey clouds, rain, and bright sunlight. Despite Iceland's reputation, the only snow you'll see will be at the top of mountains or on glaciers, if you dare!

The waterfall Skógafoss on the south coast of Iceland

The island is at the meeting point of a cold arctic air mass from the north and the warm Gulf Stream from the south, which can cause unpredictable weather.

The wind factor is vital to note. On a 59° Fahrenheit (15° Celsius) day with sunshine, coastal winds can chill down even the warmest weather, so it's essential to bring proper clothing. The quintessential Icelandic sweater, the traditional lopapeysa , is perfectly breathable clothing that offers ample insulation from sudden winds.

Is Iceland rainy or snowy in August?

Even though the weather is at its most pleasant through July and August in Iceland, this doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to stay dry. The average rainfall in August in Iceland is around 2.4 inches (62 millimeters), so be prepared for sporadic light showers. However, there's little to no risk of snowfall.

August is one of the warmest months in Iceland, but the weather can be unpredictable. If you plan to go hiking or on glacier tours , you still need to pack some warm layers and have a proper waterproof and windproof jacket.

The long daylight hours might sound nice, but you’ll be exposed to the sun for longer, which means you must be prepared for that, too.

Visiting Thorsmork in Iceland in August

One of the top things to do in Iceland in August is hiking. It's the perfect time of year for backpacking in Iceland since the weather and road conditions are optimal, meaning all parts of Iceland’s varied landscape are more accessible than at other times of the year.

Hiking the Highlands in Iceland in August

The best place to go hiking in Iceland during the summer is in the Highlands . It’s inaccessible during the winter months, and it’s where you’ll find the highest peak in Iceland, Hvannadalshnukur  mountain in Vatnajokull National Park . Another popular option is the trails around Landmannalaugar , known for its beautiful rhyolite mountain and bathing hot springs.

There are many guided hiking tours  available in August, or you can choose from various easy day hikes around Reykjavik and beyond. Our guide to hiking in Iceland covers the best trails and everything you need to know about making the best of the warm August weather in Iceland and exploring the natural beauty of Iceland's landscapes up close.

Berry Picking While Hiking in Iceland in August

Iceland has several native species of edible berries that are ripe for picking in August. While out on your hike, keep an eye out for crowberries, whortleberries, and blueberries. It’s perfectly acceptable to pick berries from public uncultivated lands across Iceland but be mindful not to encroach on private land in the hunt for these sweet treats.

Be sure to do a little research into what berries to avoid as well. While most of the wild berries found across Iceland are safe for consumption, a few can be toxic, such as the red berries of the yew tree.

Let sleeping birds lie

August marks the closing of the puffin nesting season in Iceland. Each year, they migrate to Iceland between April and September to nest on Iceland's many islands and coastal cliffs. You'll find them at the  Latrabjarg  cliffs in the Westfjords , the Westman Islands , Dyrholaey on the South Coast , and Grimsey  island in the north, among other places.

The puffins in Iceland have an unmistakable allure due to their striking appearance and sweet nature. While spotting these cute feathered friends, remember that they're precious wild animals that should be treated with dignity and respect.

Many puffin tours are combined with whale watching as well. While you can spot whales in Iceland throughout the year, the chances are higher between March and November. Common summer season species include humpback whales, blue whales, fin whales, and white-beaked dolphins.

Be sure to bring a waterproof and windproof jacket because it can still be wet and rainy, especially out at sea!

Iceland’s scenic coastline is renowned for its black sandy beaches and glacier lagoons, with views of sweeping mountains and glistening ice caps. Kayaking is a great way to explore them up close and get an alternative view to what you can see while hiking.

Many tours range from easy to difficult, from a guided two-hour kayaking tour under Mt. Kirkjufell  on the Snaefellsnes peninsula to a three-day kayaking and camping adventure  in the beautiful and remote Westfjords

Not only is it a great way to get close to the wildlife, but you can also kayak under the midnight sun , which is a surreal experience.

River rafting in Iceland in August

Another exciting option for an adventure trip in August is one of Iceland’s river rafting tours . Being home to some of Europe’s most powerful waterfalls is a testimony to the strength of the rapids of Iceland’s rivers.

River rafting is a unique way to experience the power of Iceland's rivers, and most importantly, it's a thrilling joy ride! You can go river rafting down the Hvita river, which flows from the Langjokull  glacier in the south, while the Austari-Jokulsa  river (East Glacial River) and the Vestari-Jokulsa  river (West Glacial River) flow from the Hofsjokull glacier in the north.

According to the international river rafting standard, the Hvita and Vestari-Jokulsa rivers are Class II rivers with moderately rough water. The Austari-Jokulsa river is a more challenging Class IV, with long and powerful rapids.

Have a look at some of the best river rafting tours in Iceland, many of which are combined with other adventurous activities, like this ATV with canyon river rafting trip  from Reykjavik.

Iceland’s best place to dive in is the unique  Silfra  fissure in Thingvellir National Park , part of the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. You can read all about the requirements and other suitable places in our guide to diving and snorkeling in Iceland .

For a more leisurely way to get wet in Iceland, do as the locals do and visit one of the country’s many swimming pools. You can always rely on it, that no matter how small the town or village is, there's going to be a local swimming pool for you to soak in. Most are sourced from Iceland’s natural geothermal water source, making them comfortable, warm temperatures all year round.

One of the most accessible pools in Reykjavik is Laugardalslaug . As well as an Olympic-sized pool, it has geothermal hot tubs, water slides, a steam room, and a sauna.

There are also many natural hot spring pools all over Iceland, which offer a great way to relax midway through a hike in the countryside. Some of them are on private land and require permission from the landowner to enter, so be sure to talk to locals and get advice on where to go. Alternatively, you can book a guided hot spring tour so you can guarantee you won’t be inadvertently trespassing.

Be sure to book in advance, especially since August is the high season for tourism in Iceland. The Blue Lagoon has a limited capacity per day, so pre-booking means you won’t miss out and can guarantee your spot.

If you're planning on visiting Iceland in August, there are plenty of festivals, holidays, sporting competitions, and outdoor markets to check out. It stands to reason that Icelanders are trying to make the most out of the end of summer and the midnight sun in Iceland in August.

There's hardly a corner of the island that doesn't hold a festival during the first weekend in August. Check out the annual festivals before deciding which places to visit in Iceland in August.

The first Monday of August marks a holiday in Iceland called the Merchant's Holiday (Fridagur verslunarmanna) and was originally a holiday for the merchant class in Iceland but eventually evolved into a holiday for all Icelanders. Ironically, nowadays, most of the Icelanders working during that weekend are people working in shops and supermarkets, i.e. merchants.

These three days of summer are beloved for their wild events and various festivals taking place across the country called the Verslunarmannahelgi holiday weekend. If you plan to travel to Iceland in August, you might want to make it this first weekend to partake in the festivities.

Thjodhatid is the biggest festival in Iceland

The most popular of all these events is Thjodhatid i Eyjum , an annual festival first held in 1874. It’s set in the lush volcanic terrain of the Westman Islands. Initially, the festival was a collection of sports events, but it soon evolved into a sizable open-air music festival featuring many great Icelandic musicians.

During the Thjodhatid festival, the isolated fishing town of Vestmannaeyjabaer in  Heimaey  island comes to life as visitors from the mainland flock to Herjolfsdalur valley to enjoy camping, concerts, fireworks, and spectacular views. If you plan to book accommodation in Heimaey , make sure to take time to go on a boat tour to see the internet-famous Elephant Rock  and the largest puffin colony in the world!

Reykjavík bathed in the glow of the Midnight Sun illuminating Hallgrímskirkja church.

There are several things to see and do in Reykjavik in August. Reykjavik is the cultural hub of Iceland, and its lively nightlife and vibrant art scene make it a must-visit for anyone coming to Iceland.

Though Iceland is most famous for its untouched landscapes and natural wonders, you don't have to rush out of the city because there's always something happening in Reykjavik. Two of the year's most popular cultural events take place in August in the capital city.

Harpa Concert Hall is a centre of culture in Reykjavík.

Menningarnott (“Culture Night”) is a popular event in Reykjavik that draws a lot of people every year. It even competes with Icelandic Independence Day in terms of attendance.

On Menningarnott, towns in the capital area host a one-night-only event packed with arts and cultural events, including indoor and outdoor concerts. Events take place in museums, cafes, clubs, restaurants, parks, theaters, and, of course, on the city's streets and plazas. The Culture Night closes with a huge outdoor concert and one of the year’s biggest parties!

  • See our Reykjavik  Nightlife Guide

Menningarnott takes place annually on the first Saturday after August 18, and there's no better day to get to know the full extent of the culture of Reykjavik. Let the music lead you from venue to venue, and don't forget to look up at the sky around midnight for a spectacular fireworks display.

Gay pride is a huge party in Reykjavik

The second weekend of August is dedicated to Iceland's LGBT community. The annual Reykjavik Pride Parade is a large parade with a diverse array of extravagant floats and performances that marches down the main street of Reykjavik's city center.

Many notable Icelanders have taken an active part in the Pride Parade, including Eurovision pop singer Paul Oscar and former mayor of Reykjavik Jon Gnarr, who participated in the parade in full drag.

The festival isn't just a one-day parade but a weeklong celebration with exciting events taking place across the city, including concerts, film screenings, drag performances, and other live shows. During this weekend, the city becomes very colorful, and there's a feeling of festivity in the air while walking around the downtown area, whether during the day or in the evening.

Lighthouse Grótta in Reykjavík on a summer night

August is the peak season in Iceland, so the most popular locations might be crowded. Still, there are always corners of the island where you can find some peace and quiet, especially if you rent a budget car or book to stay in a cozy cabin in Iceland . Just remember you'll need to book well in advance to ensure that you have a place to stay for the night.

The lovely August weather in Iceland means that camping is a great and cheaper way to spend your nights. Remember to camp at an authorized camping ground and be mindful of the natural wonders around you. A good rule of thumb for traveling in Iceland is that if it seems like you shouldn't do it, don't.

It can also be very convinient to rent a campervan when traveling around Iceland, especially as you can choose one with a heater or even a kitchenette!
