Posted by Soo James | Feb 10, 2024 | Headline News , Thailand , Trade Events | 0 |
Under the stewardship of Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the dynamic Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), TTM+ 2024 aims to transcend traditional tourism paradigms, fostering a platform where over 420 buyers from across 50 countries can synergize with approximately 430 Thai sellers. This assembly of tourism professionals, spanning continents from Europe to Australia and emerging markets including Eastern Europe and South America, embodies the global appetite for Thailand’s rich cultural tapestry and unparalleled travel experiences.
The meticulously curated event schedule promises a comprehensive showcase of Thailand’s 5F soft-power pillars: Food, Film, Festival, Fight, and Fashion. It reflects a concerted effort to present a multifaceted view of Thai tourism, emphasizing sustainable and meaningful travel experiences that resonate with the discerning modern traveller. Mr Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, TAT’s Deputy Governor for International Marketing, underscores the commitment to sustainability, offering incentives for Thai sellers who champion eco-friendly business practices and setting a precedent for future travel industry conventions.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor.
The TTM+ 2024 is more than a mere aggregation of travel professionals; it’s a beacon for the transformative power of tourism. With an anticipated generation of over 2 billion Baht through approximately 15,000 business appointments, the event is a testament to the vital role of tourism in global economic recovery and sustainable development. Including pre and post-tours amplifies this vision, providing attendees with immersive experiences in wellness, adventure, and ecological preservation, further cementing Thailand’s status as a hub of sustainable tourism excellence.
In partnership with the Phang-nga Province, the Phang-nga Tourism Association, and various tourism-related bodies, TTM+ 2024 embodies a collaborative spirit, showcasing the collective resolve to elevate Thailand’s tourism sector. Mr. Supoj Rodruang Na Nongkhai, the esteemed Governor of Phang-nga Province, articulates the region’s readiness to welcome the world, highlighting the significance of tourism as an economic lifeline for the local community.
Phang-nga, with its captivating landscapes, national parks, and cultural heritage sites, offers a backdrop that enchants and inspires sustainable travel practices. The event, therefore, serves as a pivotal platform for exchanging ideas, forging lasting partnerships, and exploring the depths of Thailand’s tourism potential.
As TTM+ 2024 gears up to welcome a global audience, including an anticipated 100 local and international media entities, the spotlight is firmly on Thailand’s evolving tourism narrative. From its inception in 2001, TTM+ has consistently been a vanguard event, driving innovation and fostering global connections in the travel industry. Its 21st edition in Khao Lak continues this legacy, promising to usher in a new era of travel that prioritizes sustainability, cultural exchange, and economic growth.
In sum, TTM+ 2024 stands as a monumental event in the travel and tourism sector, heralding a future where sustainable and meaningful travel experiences are not just envisioned but actively realized. It’s a gathering that showcases Thailand’s diverse attractions and sets the stage for global collaborations that will shape the future of tourism.

Currently, we’re preparing using the country’s health service system combined with seven Thai strengths, including well-known tourist attractions, top medical facilities, expert doctors, reasonable prices, Thai hospitality, Thailand’s absolute facilities, and the wisdom of traditional Thai medicine and alternative medicine.
These things will attract people worldwide to Thailand for wellness and health care.

Bangkok booth wins top award at India’s No 1 travel expo
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s booth to promote the Thai capital as a global tourist destination won the top award at India’s premier travel trade show on Saturday.
India overtook China as Thailand’s top source of foreign tourists last year as Beijing imposed tough Covid-19 travel restrictions.
The Bangkok booth at Outbound Travel Mart (OTM 2023), held in Mumbai from February 2-4, was handed the Best Design and Decoration Award by the organiser.
The award was received by Sing Limpirat, deputy director of BMA’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Department.
Over 30,000 people checked out the booth showcasing Bangkok’s charm and attractions, many of whom confirmed they wanted to visit the capital, he said.
The event’s crowd of mostly tourism business operators inquired about travel in Bangkok, as well as Thai handicrafts such as fruit carving, flower arrangement.
Attendees were also interested in dishes available in Bangkok that would appeal to Indian tourists, including Krathong Thong, Panipuri, and chicken satay, as well as Thai and Indian tea.
Visitors also participated in Ramwong Thai folk dancing and took part in a contest to win one-day trips in Bangkok featuring a leisure cruise on the Chao Phraya River. Participants had to snap a photo of the BMA booth and post it on their Facebook with the hashtag #bangkoktourismdivision.
The Bangkok booth also offered Thai traditional costumes for participants to wear and take selfies, which attracted the longest queues over the three-day exhibition.
The final day saw the BMA showcase awarded Best Design and Decoration in a vote by over 1,250 booth organisers and 30,000 participants.
BMA representatives also gave interviews to foreign journalists from several outlets regarding the city’s readiness to welcome international visitors.
“We believe that participating in the OTM 2023 will definitely help attract more foreign tourists and tour operators from around the world to visit the Thai capital,” said Sing.

The government will highlight Nakhon Ratchasima as a centre of innovation and sustainability during the 2029 International Horticultural Expo, which will be hosted in the province, deputy spokeswoman Kenika Ounjit said on Sunday.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and a government delegate on Sunday went to the Khok Nong Rung Ka area in Khong district to survey the venue for the 25th edition of this world exhibition, also known as Korat Expo 2029. Sayam Sirimongkol, Nakhon Ratchasima governor, and at least 700 locals were on the site to welcome the premier and his cabinet ministers.
According to Ms Kenika, Thailand won the right to organise the International Horticultural Expo from the International Association of Horticultural Producers during its March 3–7 meeting in Doha, Qatar.
The expo will run for 110 days, from Nov 10, 2029, to Feb 28, 2030, under the theme “Nature and Greenery: Envisioning the Green Future”. The event will be held in a 678-rai site in the Khok Nong Rung Ka area in tambon Thepalai, with at least 523 rai of those used solely for exhibition while about 155-rai will be reserved for parking areas.
Mr Srettha has received a progress report on the exhibition model from Natthini Thongdee, director of the Northeastern Research Institute of Petrified Wood and Mineral Resources at Nakhon Ratchasima Ratjabhat University.
Ms Natthini said the land has been prepared, and the Royal Irrigation Office 8 has made a pond for 72 million cubic metres of water from Huai Ta Kro Reservoir to ensure sufficient water supply during the expo.
Mr Srettha said this A1-class World Horticultural Exhibition will represent natural wonders as well as Thailand's cultural diversity and efficiency in agricultural technology.
The event will elevate Nakhon Ratchasima as a hub for sustainable technology and innovation so it can be known as a city of green innovation, he said.
The expo aims to attract at least 2.6-4 million visitors and bring about 19 billion baht in income, he said. It will also help add 9.163 billion baht to the gross domestic product and generate at least 36,003 jobs, he said.
Later, the premier visited the Tung Samrit irrigation in Phimai district’s tambon Nai Muang of Nakhon Ratchasima, where he said: "This trip gives us first-hand experiences about water management. The cabinet will come up with a plan to better manage water in the province".
