2001 silverado cruise control cable clip

cruise control cable retainer clip help!

My coupler where the cruise cable clips to the throttle body linkage broke the other day and I couldn't figure out how to take it apart to just replace it instead of the whole cruise cable. I was looking on ebay and found this but it says only fits 2000-04, my engine is a 99 4.3 vortec. the pic looks similar but not exact. whats the difference? http://www.ebay.com/itm/DORMAN-4104...es&fits=Model:S10&hash=item5af315a231&vxp=mtr  

I would THINK it would fit. I know when I originally received my cruise control kit that the retainer was broken so I just used two small black zip ties to hold it in place until I could find one that wasn't broke.  

Somewhere around 98 or 99 the size of the cruise cable pin on the throttle body shaft changed in size. Probably 99. It got smaller in size on the later models.  

I would have never guessed that. I never noticed a difference between my 98's and 00's.  

I have a 98 engine in my 2000 Jimmy. The cruise pin is different between the two. I used the 2000 upper intake to keep it original. I could have switched the cruise cable from the 98  

I was thinking the pin could be different bc I ran into that before doing something else.
