Visit the Loire Valley!

Enjoy a day in the French countryside exploring three remarkable chateaux in the Loire Valley. Join our small group tour from Paris and discover the beautiful renaissance castles of Chenonceau, Chambord, and Amboise!

Wander through the lovely flower gardens of Chenonceau and gaze at its delicate arches which cross over the Cher river. Visit Amboise, the castle on a hillside, and admire the fantastic vista views over the valley. Marvel at Chambord and admire its extravagant renaissance architecture said to be the work of Leonardo Da Vinci.

This tour is far from being a humdrum history lesson! You’ll learn about each castle’s history in a fun way as our guide shares little known facts and focuses on making your tour entertaining and memorable.

You’ll appreciate free time to explore inside each castle at your own pace and visit a charming medieval town for the lunch break where you can eat in a local café, bistro, or bakery of your choice.

Marvel at Chambord Château

Three Amazing Castles in One Tour

The Loire river valley is famous for its beautiful countryside and its high concentration of amazing Renaissance style chateaux. On this tour you’ll visit three of the most stunning and historically interesting castles: Chenonceau, Amboise, and Chambord. We’ll treat you like royalty in our small group tour, and give you the attention you deserve, as we never take more than 8 participants per group.

You’ll meet up with the guide in Paris close to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris (exact details will be in your booking confirmation) and head to the Loire Valley in our Volkswagen Caravelle van. Our vans have big windows, fresh A/C, and comfortable leather seats so you can ride in style. The drive to the Loire valley will be less than 2hrs long and the first castle you’ll visit is Chambord.

Chambord, the Majestic.

There is no castle in the world like Chambord Chateau as every one of its 420 rooms is full of intricate stone carvings and authentic details. You’ll learn about the passion King Francois 1st had for the construction of this very unique castle which became the largest in the Loire Valley. You will have one and a half hours of free time to explore inside it.

Although the official architect of the castle remains a mystery, everyone recognizes the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci in the remarkable double helix staircase and the amazing rooftop terrace adorned with hundreds of ornate chimneys, towers, and pointed spires. You’re sure to be impressed by this massive one of a kind castle.

Leonardo Da Vinci's Tomb

Amboise, the Ancient

Only a short scenic drive from Chambord is the charming medieval town of Amboise with its fortress of a castle. Since the 1400s, Amboise Chateau has been perched on a hillside strategically overlooking the Loire river valley. You’ll learn its fascinating history including how it has seen the birth and death of many French kings, and became the final resting place of Leonardo Da Vinci. Unlike other tours that hurry visitors along, you’ll love having a free hour to explore this castle and appreciate the view that it offers you of the valley and town below.

For lunch, you’ll have free time to walk the Medieval town filled with tiny winding streets, wood and plaster homes and unparalleled local charm. The guide will show you a special part of town, only accessible by foot, and there you’ll be able to choose from a dozen little cafés, bistros, and bakeries for your lunch break, which will last an hour.

You'll participate in a small tasting of the local famous wines

Chenonceau, the Charming

After lunch you’ll discover to Chenonceau Chateau. Known as the Ladies’ Castle, this Chateau is a favorite for many. Stretching over the Cher river in a seemingly impossible and mystical manner, its appearance is nothing short of breathtaking. Beyond Chenonceau’s architectural wonder, it offers up some of the most striking gardens in the Loire Valley.

Learn about the famous Catherine de Medici and Diane de Poitiers who made this castle their own. You’ll have an hour and a half of free time to roam the castle and stroll through the gardens. The rare history and stunning beauty of this delicate castle is sure to mark your spirit and rest in your memory.

The drive back to Paris takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and includes a rest stop half way through. The tour will finish back in Paris around 8pm, next to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Elysées Avenue where you can find lots of great dinner options.

No refunds are given for ANY reason once within the 24 hrs prior to the scheduled tour. All of our tours run Rain or Shine. We do not issue refunds if you choose to skip your tour because the weather doesn’t suit you. You can always wait until the last minute to book your tour to ensure the weather suits you that day. BFT reserves the right to cancel any of its tours last minute in case of an Act of God or crazy act from a large group of people. Flooding, hail, dangerous weather conditions, riots, etc. In such instances full refunds will be given to anyone who had their tour cancelled.

II - Satisfaction Guarantee Policy

If the tour you took with us didn’t live up to what we promised you on our website and failed to meet your expectations, we will be heartbroken. We will also give you a 100% refund so long as you do all of these things: You remember that we we are in no way responsible for the weather and that our guides actually have to give 110% of themselves to you on days when the weather is not as nice in order to help you enjoy the tour. You participate in the entire tour from: being on time at the meeting point until the “goodbyes” at the very end of the tour. You can’t leave a tour half-way and ask for your money back. At the end of the tour you tell your guide, in person, that you were not satisfied with the tour you took. You provide your tour guide with the reasons you were not satisfied with the tour itself.

III - Payment Policy

A valid credit card is required to secure your booking. All reservations must be prepaid online prior to the tour. We accept Visa, Mastercard. None of your personal credit card or billing information is stored by BFT.

IV - Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your personal informations will never be disclosed to any third parties.

V - Child Policy

All reservations made for children under the age of 18 years old must be made by an adult and we must be informed at the time of booking exactly how many children are in your party and their ages. This is vital information as it allows our guide to prepare the proper child sized equipments for the bike tours and the booster seats for all day trips/excursions that use one of our vans. All reservations made for a minor under the age of 18 years old must also include the reservation for an adult who will be 100% solely responsible for the safety and well being of the child while on the tour. Every child, under the age of 12 years old, partaking in a bicycle tour will be required to wear a helmet and a reflective vest as per French Law. The adult who accompanies the child agrees to the responsibility of choosing a properly sized helmet, adjusting the helmet, and keeping the helmet on the head of the child during the whole tour. Blue Fox Travel has helmets in multiple sizes for you to choose from at no cost. Don't forget: Children who will be riding in a baby/child seat, on a tandem attachment bike, or in a booster seat in one of our vans absolutely MUST have their seat reserved beforehand. We NEED to know exactly what your child will need before they show up. Please make it clear in the “Special Requirements” section of our booking form.

VI- Child Bike Policy

Children who will be riding on their own may be subject to a very short test run before the tour starts in which they will be expected to demonstrate: that they are well suited for their bike’s size and settings, that they know how to brake properly and that they are, in general, good cyclists who can be trusted to follow their tour guide in a safe manner. We own 20” and 24” kids bikes (size of the wheel). Adult bikes are 26”. If the guide, or manager, finds that the child is not, for any reason, a good enough cyclist then the guide, or manager, has the right to refuse to let the child follow the tour on a personal bike. This means they will either be asked to ride on one of our ‘tandem attachments’ which is attached to the back of a parents bike OR asked to ride in a child seat attached to the back of a parents bike. If the child refuses the change, then the guide or manager has the right to cancel the reservation, and not allow you and your child on the bike tour. Refunds will not be issued if your reservation is cancelled because of your child not being able to cycle and their refusal to ride attached to you. Baby seats are for kids that are between the ages of 1 and 3 years old (max weight 22 kg (48 lbs)). We also have some cool Burley™ tandem attachment bikes that are suitable for little kids who are too big for the baby seat but too small to cycle on their own (max weight 38 kg (85 lbs) - max height 137 cm (4 ft 6 in)).

VII - Damages to Blue Fox Travel Property

If you or anyone in your party damages a vehicle, a Blue Bike™, a vehicle, a child's bike, a helmet, a baby/child seat, a tandem attachment bike, any bike attachments, or a booster seat in such a way that it becomes badly disfigured, broken, or unusable, then BFT reserves the right to claim a fee of up to the cost of repair of the damaged bike/vehicle or object.

Great bike tours Pauline was our tour guide very sweet and funny. We had an amazing time very informative as well. We did the morning one and the temperature was a bit cold 47 degrees when we started and as the day got warmer it became very nice. The bikes each have a poncho in case it rains and a ring bell . You have a lunch break go for the crepes they were amazing!

It was pure serendipity that I stumbled upon Blue Bike Tours on my trip in Paris, and it was an amazing experience! If you want to see the insider's Paris along with all of the popular landmarks and learn the history of the city to boot, this is THE BEST bike tour you can take on your visit. It's a leisurely jaunt around the city, on very comfortable (and really beautiful) blue cruiser bikes. The tour guides and staff are incredibly warm, accommodating, trustworthy, and safety oriented. They know the city well, and will not hesitate to offer tidbits of advice and answer questions about Paris with in-depth knowledge and humor. Tell your friends, and try them out. These guys rock!

I took the Paris by night bike + boat tour. It was better than I could've hoped. Something that really stood out to me was how willing our tour guide was to talk to the kids on the tour and entertain them being goofy. It was so great and fun and I can't recommend it enough.

Bottom Line: An overview of the city in a 4 hour bike tour with young guides. Groups vary in athletic ability and age and the pace is fairly brisk so you cannot stop and take loads of pictures. This is a great value for the money and worth doing on the front end of a trip since the guides give great tips and recommendations for how to spend your time in the city. What You See: The bike tour I took was the Best of Paris tour - a scenic tour through different neighborhoods of Paris. Riders see major tourist attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Cathedral of Notre Dame and the banks and bridges of the Seine. Our guide, Guillaume (William in English), stopped and gave a brief history and description of what we were seeing. He was very friendly and attentive and made the trip enjoyable and fun. You only stop at each site for a few minutes so it's worth going back to things like the Eiffel Tower if you want to ride up to the viewing deck. Group Dynamics: Our group was about 10 people, which is around the perfect size. Larger groups move more slowly and it's harder to hear the guide. Smaller groups mean there are less interesting people to chat with who are also visiting the city. In my group, people were all different ages and sizes: there was a couple from Australia, a group of middle-aged women from Boston, and another younger couple. You don't have to be great shape to do the bike ride but you should be able to ride one for a few hours at a medium speed. Pace: The pace of the tour is fairly brisk so if you're looking for a lot of downtime to take a lot of pictures, this probably not the tour for it. It's meant to give you a glimpse of major sites in Paris and offer a fun way to see the city that is more personal than a car tour but faster than a walking tour. There is a 30-minute break at Rue de Cler for a coffee and pastry. Price/Value for Money: This was a great value for the money and I highly recommend this over a car tour. Riding through the city gives you the ability to see the city from a Parisian's point of view and interact with the city in a much more intimate way. Plus, it's a lot cheaper and you get a workout in at the same time. Keep in mind that this is meant to give you an overview of the city so not a lot of time is spent at each site. But it does give you a good idea for you may want to spend the rest of your time in Paris since the guides give great tips.

We are not big on organized tours, but we also can't see spending hours on end waiting in line to get into tourist destinations like the Eiffel Tower or the Paris Catacombs. The solution is a skip the line ticket offered by Blue Bike Tours. Rather than wait in line for five hours - yes, I said FIVE HOURS - in Paris heat to enter the Catacombs, we got immediate access with our tour guide, whose interesting commentary as we walked through the caverns was icing on the cake. We also used Blue Bike to bypass the wait to access the Eiffel Tower. It was well worth it. Sure, it costs a bit more, but you've already spent a substantial amount traveling to Paris, so why waste you precious time in queues.

We were going to visit the Normandy D-Day Beaches on our own when we thought to look into tours from Paris. The Blue Fox Travel tour appeared to be what we were after and it was. The day is long, but well worth it. We were driven to Normandy in a clean modern van as part of a group of seven people. The young women who was our driver/guide made the trip. Her knowledge was extensive and her enthusiasm was contagious. She made the trip fun and effortless. We made several stops for bathroom breaks and one for lunch at a moderately priced place where she had reserved a table for us. I would definitely consider Blue Fox for any of my future tour plans.

We had a great time in Paris thanks to this bike tour! Our guide, Jean-Phillip was awesome! He was funny, extremely informative, and always made sure that everyone in the group was taken care of. I truly felt like I got a great snapshot of main great landmarks of Paris with this tour. When else can you ride your bike through the outdoor courtyard of the Louvre? If you are on a time crunch and need something to feel like you experienced the great wonders of Paris, take this tour. It will make you feel accomplished in a short amount of time! With only 4 days in the city, we definitely needed it!

Photo of Katherine H.

Blue Bike tours was so understanding when we had to cancel last minute for a medical emergency. They refunded both our tickets in full and were extremely polite and empathetic throughout the whole process. This tour came highly recommended by friends and we were upset we couldn't make it.

Photo of Danielle L.

Most memorable experience in France!!!!! I cannot believe how amazing this tour was! Yes it was a really long tour, and expensive, but you won't regret it. We started the day out in the Gare Saint-Lazare, in front of platform #1 right in front of the map. The guide was wearing a blue bike hoodie, which was the same color as the bikes in the pictures. He gave us the tickets and we loaded the train when it came. I believe our tour guide was Pierre and he was fantastic and funny as well. He let us go shopping in the market place and then we loaded our bikes and explored the gardens and some of the buildings of Versailles. In my wildest dreams I never knew I would explore the Summer home of Marie Antoinette or that she had built a farm to mimic more of a simple life. I don't want to give too much away about the trip except that it ends at the French Castle, where your guide leaves you and you're free to wander around. The only thing I would have added is one more bathroom break. We had one in the morning and one later on, however I was very uncomfortable at the end and my Husband even had to leave the group early to go find a bathroom.

We had heard about Blue Bike Tours from a friend and thought it would be a great way to orient in Paris on our first full day in the city. We were not wrong! We did the Paris Hidden Gems tour. Jean Philippe was our kind, fun and knowledgeable guide--engaging us about French culture, history and politics, and giving us all kinds of good insider info so we could have a great rest of the week. We were the only people on the tour that day (it being low season) and rather than rush us through so he could have the rest of the day off, he actually took his time with us, and even took us on an extra stop to Marie Curie's house. The bike riding itself was easygoing and fun--along the Seine, up some easy hills. It was the perfect pace at which to see the city--fast enough to see a lot of things in a short time without getting footsore, slow enough to take it in. I usually hate tours and being boxed into someone else's timetable and herded around, but I would do this again and heartily recommend it to anyone!

3. Be in awe of Iceland's black sand beaches

There are several black sand beaches in Iceland that are truly a sight unlike any other.

One of these is Reynisfjara, a black sand beach good for seeing but not for swimming because of the cold water and strong currents that make it dangerous.

You can also see the sparkle of Diamond Beach while in Iceland. This black sand beach is full of diamond resembling ice, making the water shimmer and shine.

Again, Diamond Beach is another beautiful landmark, but avoid swimming in this water, mainly because of the icebergs that can cause injury.

4. Visit Europe's largest glacier

Vatnajokull glacier is Europe's largest. You can explore the glacier on foot or rent a snowmobile to see more in a short time.

There are so many breathtaking ice caves to explore throughout the glacier.

Vatnajokull may look familiar to you, even if you haven't visited Iceland before, as it was featured in the HBO series "Game of Thrones" and two "James Bond" films.

5. Go to Vatnajökull National Park

Vatnajökull National Park is where you can find Skaftafell nature reserve. Skaftafell nature reserve has been a part of Vatnajökull National Park since 2008. Glacier lagoons, black sand and mesmerizing rock formations can all be found here.

It is just about 45 minutes from Diamond Beach.

6. Take a Golden Circle tour

Taking a Golden Circle tour is a must-do activity on a trip to Iceland. The Golden Circle is a scenic route where you'll be able to see Iceland in all its beauty.

How much time you carve out for this depends on how long you want to spend at each stop. You can easily spend days exploring this area, or you can rent a car and spend a few hours driving around.

There are three main stops part of the Golden Circle: Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall.

7. Enjoy Reykjavík's nightlife

Reykjavík is filled with bars and restaurants , making the city a great spot for thriving nightlife at the end of a busy day exploring.

While here, you can also visit Hallgrimskirkja Church and stop by one of the many local swimming pools throughout the city.

8. Stop by Skogafoss waterfall

Skogafoss waterfall is a breathtaking beauty you will not want to miss when traveling to Iceland.

Get your cameras ready for this stop, because you'll want to snap a picture of you in front of the enormous waterfall. It's not a bad idea to pack a pair of waterproof shoes on your visit.

You don't need to carve out too much time for this, 30 to 45 minutes will do. Rainbows are very common here, so keep your eye out for that, too.

9. See the northern lights

While in Iceland, you'll most likely be able to cross "see the northern lights" off your bucket list.

Making a plan to see the colorful lights in the sky is a little tricky, since their occurrence is not super predictable. That said, visiting between September and April, when the nights are long and dark, will give you the best possibility of seeing the aurora borealis.
