Excellent hike with a fantastic guide

We did the 3 day Ecuador Inca trail with Julio Verne. Booking online and paying (from overseas) was easy with quick and helpful responses received to emailed questions. The standout from our trip was our guide Luis; the best treking guide we have ever had. His English was great and he regularly shared interesting information about the mountains, flora and fauna and local history. He was also extremely caring, always checking how we were feeling and set a really comfortable pace. He also whatsapped us photos at the end. The route itself was stunning and pretty remote, seeing virtually no one until the 3rd day. Crossing the river on the horse was a fun touch. The tents, sleeping bags and mats were all good and the food varied and tasty. The only downside, and why this is a 4 star and not 5 star review is that after several meals one or the other of us had an upset stomach when before the trip we had been fine. The second day was also long and dragged towards the end. Would recommend both the trek and the company. Get Luis if you can!!

We booked the Hidden Valley bike ride. First we went up to 4800m from where we hiked up to 5000m. After that we went back down to 4800m, where we started our descent. It was breathtaking to be downhilling in such an environment, it looked like the moon. After that our Guide Luis picked us up and brought us by car (15min) to the start of the Hidden Valley ride. Simply breathtaking and stunning views, all around. It was 40km downhill so no need for a perfect stamina. Luis was a great guide, very flexible and he made a nice lunch. :) Price seemed kind of high but in the end it was definitely worth it. Good professional bikes, skilled guide for a day and the best views you can wish for.

We did the one day trip to the Chimborazo Refugios. William was a great Guide. He told us a lot about the region and the Chimborazo and gave us many tips for our further trips. Eventually it was a great trip but I think the price is too high. We paid 65$ for each person. In comparison the Cotopaxi trip costs us 45$ and from the trip itself, we felt no difference.

I was hesitating to book the Chimborazo as it is an important budget (as any high mountain experience). I took my decision during a night and the day after we left Riobamba with good gears and an experienced and skilled guide to Chilborazo. Julio Verne was super reactive to make it possible, without scarifying the importance of the gears, food quality or guide's contact. I was able to make it to the summit despite a very icy way up, as the guide knew the difference routes perfectly. I hardly recommend the services of Julio Verne (as well as booking more in advance than me !).

We got in contact some time before we arrived in Riobamba and the support was always responsive and helpful. We then organized the acclimatization phase at their office, received a lot of tips and maps and could do a profound planning. We decided to do two tours with them and they assigned the same mountain guide, which I think is very valuable. We couldn't make it to the second summit, but I always felt safe with our guide, i knows the mountains and his job.

We enjoyed a fantastic holiday in Ecuador including climbs on Carihuairazo and Cotopaxi as well as some days on the Galápagos Islands. THANK YOU to Julio Verne Travel for an excellent organization of our Ecuador experience ! It was outstanding !!! Everything was organized perfectly well: - The hostals - All Guides ( Big thanks to Marcial, Juan Gonzales, Paul & Patricio and Juan ) - Complete transportation services ( everyone was in time, amazing ! ) - Food, including vegetarian option - Equipement - Planning overall, including Galapagos tours Thanks again for all your efforts
