The European leg of the tour will kick off next month
Depeche Mode have announced the acts that will be joining them as support on their upcoming ‘Memento Mori’ tour.

Announced today (April 12), the band – which is comprised of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan – shared the five acts that will be joining them for their string of tour dates across the continent and the UK later this year.
The update was shared on Instagram, where the iconic duo announced that Cold Cave and Young Fathers would be among the names joining them throughout their 34 upcoming shows.
Other newly-announced artists joining them include Berlin-based band Hope, former Savages singer turned solo star Jehnny Beth and British trip-hop band Haelos.
The European leg of the tour kicks off next month with two performances in the Netherlands, taking place on May 16 and May 18. From there, Depeche Mode will play a series of performances in countries including Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, the UK and Austria, before ending in Norway on August 11.

A performance at London’s Twickenham Stadium on June 17 is also featured in the upcoming shows. Find any remaining tickets here .
The upcoming tour dates are in support of band’s 15th studio album, ‘Memento Mori’ , which was released last month.
Speaking with NME , Gore previously shared his appreciation for the Scottish trio, Young Fathers, who will be joining them on tour.
“I’ve been having to listen to a lot of stuff for remixes and support artists lately,” he said. “A band I thought were very unique were Young Fathers. I’ve been listening to their albums and watching live performances, and they’re just so different to everything else.”
Discussing the new LP last month, members Gore and Gahan also reflected on the passing of synth player and founding member Andy Fletcher back in May 2022, and told NME about their determination to support the next generation of artists .
“It’s a ‘get up and do it yourself’ spirit,” Gahan told NME of what inspires their continuously renewed appeal for new generations of acts. “Do it your way and don’t be told how to. Eventually it will work out for you.”
They also spoke of their appreciation for Welsh electronica artist Kelly Lee Owens – a former NME cover star who the band personally chose as a supporting artist on their US tour dates.
“We were given a massive list of potential support acts; some of them I knew, like Kelly Lee Owens who I actually really liked, and we decided she’d be a perfect fit,” said Gore. “What she does is very atmospheric and it never seems like there’s only one person playing – she really puts her soul into it.”

I had a great time at the Depeche Mode Concert. I enjoyed the whole concert experience. I loved every song, and the videos played in the background. The band has high energy. The concert was packed from the very young to the very old. What amazed me is how the very young knew all the lyrics to every song the band played. Any wild antics was from the fans. Some of the fans wore some very outlandish outfits. I think the band members like the style of their fans. There is lots of fan participation. You have to attend one concert to experience their talent and the excitement. You won't be sorry. I am so looking forward to the next concert. The concert goes by too fast and you wonder where the time went. The only bad thing was the concert wasn't long enough and had to end. I wanted the concert to go on forever.
I say please just try one concert. Once you attend one of their concerts, you will become a fan for life.

Absolute fantastic, we were FOS and close enough to see them Face to Face - i love that they arrange every Song a little different and so i discover more and more favorite Songs. Sound was brilliant and not to loud , stunning dance performance of Dave and we all love Martin taking the lead vocal sometimes. All over all they really support the feeling that they are bythemself full of Joy and Happiness - made us sing all the time - play my favorite Song 'A Pain i used to know' andd all what i want to hear - if i could wish one Song for the next concert it would be'The things you said' or 'Waiting for the Night' - anyhow 'never let me down (again) - is one of the heights of the Concert - you know this waving thing - with the arms ...will see them again.

First time I've seen Depeche Mode live. It won't be the last I hope. I remember them from way back when, early 80's I think, yes I'm old!! The band are amazing, sound great & look great. Dave never stops moving around the stage, wish I had half of his energy!! They performed a mix of songs but mostly new ones from SPIRIT the new album. If you haven't got it yet, why not? Go out and get it!! But then towards the end of the show out came the crowds old favourites, but still sounding fresh to this day, and there was a good old sing a long!
Yes I will definitely go to see them again in the future. Highly recommended.

Depeche Mode have just four more dates left on the 2023 European leg of their tour which has found them performing to huge crowds in arenas and stadiums.
This is the Memento Mori World Tour to support the group's 15th studio album and their first without beloved keyboard player Andy Fletcher who died last year at 60.
Fletch, along with Martin Gore and Vince Clarke, created a band in 1980 called Composition of Sound. When singer Dave Gahan was asked to join them, he convinced them to change the name to that of a French magazine he'd seen called Dépêche-mode.
Decades later and over 100 million records sold, Gore and Gahan are continuing to carry the banner -- almost effortlessly -- around the globe.
While Taylor Swift is getting recognized for rejuvenating the cities she visits on her Eras Tour, an upcoming Depeche Mode show in Estonia has filled up most of the hotels despite the fact the room rates were doubled in anticipation of the high demand. Hoteliers are claiming visitors are traveling in from Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and France, among others.
The band has rarely veered off the tour's set, but when they do, often it's a last minute change.
For example on Wednesday's show, "Strangelove" doesn't appear on the original setlists taped to the stage. It replaced one of the new songs, "Soul With Me."
A few weeks ago in Zagreb when Martin was finished singing "Strangelove," he was greeted with a cake and a dozen black balloons to celebrate his 62nd birthday.
And yes, " Happy Birthday " was sung.
Today the band releases the next in their series of box sets containing singles and rarities. 2009's Sound of the Universe gets the treatment.
And just a couple of weeks ago, Gahane's version of the Gun Club's "Mother of Earth" came out. This is part of a forthcoming edition of Jeffrey Lee Pierce songs reimagined by the likes of Debbie Harry, Nick Cave, The Coathangers, Lydia Lunch and many others .
Depeche Mode wraps up the 2023 portion of their European leg on August 11. In late September they begin Leg 3: North America, with a trio of shows in Mexico City. The tour ends in December with the rare occurrence of two shows at the Forum in Inglewood followed by two at the Crypto (formerly known as Staples Center) in downtown LA.
Tickets are available at the band's website .

Depeche Mode Returns With ‘Memento Mori’ Album, World Tour
The legendary band, now a duo, says some of their new songs "can't help but reflect" the absence of longtime member Andy Fletcher.
By Robert Levine
Robert Levine
BERLIN — Depeche Mode will return next year with a new album, Memento Mori , and a tour that’ll launch with 10 North America arena dates, followed by more than two dozen summer stadium shows in Europe. At a press conference at the Berliner Ensemble on Tuesday (Oct. 4), band members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore said that they started working on songs during the pandemic, and that they decided to continue as an act after keyboard player and co-founder Andy Fletcher died in May .
Trending on Billboard
The album isn’t completely done – recording is finished but the songs aren’t yet mixed – and Gahan and Gore said their next stop is New York, to wrap it up. It is due out around the time the tour begins.
5 Questions With Depeche Mode Ahead of Their Rock Hall Induction in 2020
At least one of the themes seems to be death – or at least the finiteness of life – as reflected by the title. “‘Memento Mori’ means ‘remember, you must die,'” Gahan said. So, Gore followed, “live each day to the max.”
In the studio, the two missed Fletcher. “We would miss Fletch,” Gahan says, “and some of these songs can’t help but reflect that.”
One of the first questions from the enthusiastic audience of journalists, associates and at least a few super-fans concerned existential issues. Then another journalist asked if the band might do some unplugged shows. After some nervous giggles in the audience, Gahan pointed out that “we can’t really unplug because we’re an electronic band.”
Everyone laughed.
“We could,” Gore added, “try battery packs.”

Watch a video trailer for the Memento Mori World Tour 2023 by Live Nation on YouTube:
In speaking about Memento Mori, Martin Gore commented, “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.” Dave Gahan added, “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”
Depeche Mode co-founder Andrew “Fletch” Fletcher passed away of natural causes on May 26.

The Memento Mori Tour will be Depeche Mode’s 19th tour and their first in over five years. The band’s most recent outing, the 2017-2018 Global Spirit Tour was its longest to date and was one of the year’s highest grossing tours, with the band playing to more than 3 million fans over the course of 130 shows across Europe and North America.
Memento Mori will be Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album and the follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed Spirit, which reached No. 1 in 11 territories, charting in the Top 5 in more than 20 others. Memento Mori will be released worldwide in Spring 2023 via Columbia Records.
Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour representing the opening of the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.
Most USA tour dates go on sale to the public on Friday, Oct. 7, with many venues participating in presales on Oct. 6, via Ticketmaster.

No DC date, sadly!
There’s always fall! Plus there’s a block of time late April / early May where more dates (in theory) could be added, but I’m ever the optimist.
That DC date materialized, and it’s almost here! https://parklifedc.com/2023/02/24/preview-depeche-mode-capital-one-arena-10-23-23/

Depeche Mode Expand Memento Mori Tour With 29 New Shows
Citing massive demand for the first U.S. and European legs of its 2023 tour dates , Depeche Mode added another 29 shows to its Memento Mori Tour, announcing the additions late last week. The tour now numbers a colossal 75 dates, becoming one of the biggest in the band’s long history, and one of the biggest runs for any act in 2023.
29 new shows just announced. On sale next week. Details: https://t.co/rJtl0RFsdy pic.twitter.com/jnOMZnZMdA — Depeche Mode (@depechemode) February 16, 2023
Tickets for the new Depeche Mode tour dates are on sale this week, with presales kicking off as early as Tuesday, February 21. Tickets will be on sale to the general public beginning Friday, February 24. The tour’s original sales reportedly involved sellouts at many of the initially announced shows, though it is impossible to know what percentage of the ticket inventory was and remains held-back from sale for later release.
New dates begin following the summer tour through Europe, launching with a September 21 show in Mexico City at Foro Sol. From there the group plays shows through October and November with five closing shows in December, including a pair of shows in Los Angeles – on December 10 at Kia Forum and December 15 at Crypto.com Arena. Other stops in the newly announced leg include Dallas (American Airlines Center), New York (Barclays Center and Madison Square Garden), Boston (TD Garden), Chicago (United Center), Vancouver (Rogers Arena), Las Vegas (T-Mobile Arena), and San Francisco (Chase Center).

Depeche Mode Add 29 New North American Dates to 2023 World Tour
UPDATE (Feb. 16, 2023): Depeche Mode have announced an additional 29 North American tour dates, all of which can be viewed further down the page. The group also released the new single "Ghosts Again" last week and you can listen to that here .
For those wondering, Depeche Mode will continue after the death of longtime keyboardist Andy Fletcher , who died on May 26 of this year. During a press event to announce their upcoming plans, the duo of Dave Gahan and Martin Gore revealed that a new album is en route and that the band will return to the road in 2023.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band have titled their 15th studio album, Memento Mori , with the album expected to arrive next spring, though a firm release date was not revealed as of yet. However, the album's release is expected to coincide with the band's forthcoming return to the road for their first shows in five years.
The two musicians had teased the possibility of their future, sharing a photo of themselves in the studio following Fletcher's death earlier this year. But with the album announce and tour news, it's official that they will push forward.
Martin Gore commented, “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”
Dave Gahan added, “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”
Depeche Mode will start their touring in the U.S. with a limited series of North American dates, kicking things off on March 23. From there, the group will head back to Europe for a summer stadium tour. All dates, cities and venues can be seen below, and ticketing info can be found via their website .
