Frédéric Anton presides over the fortunes of this emblematic restaurant on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, accessible by a private lift. The magic of this location 125m up from ground level instantly bewitches diners, who are further captivated by the high-flying cuisine. Every day, Kévin Garcia's teams pull out all the stops to elevate blue-ribbon produce and deliver delicate, perfectly judged dishes boasting flavour combinations that are always on point. For example, a sublime soufflé of scallops with a Dieppoise sauce and Oscietra caviar, or grenobloise-style caramelised calf sweetbread, perfectly executed with no unnecessary frills. Germain Decreton's desserts are in keeping with the lofty standards. When booking, ask for one of the tables near the windows, as the view over Paris through the tower's iron fretwork is nothing short of spectacular. An impeccable welcome and very committed service.

A great French café with an extremely varied menu. The food is served attentively and to a good quality. I understand you pay for the location (the restaurant has a view of the Eiffel Tower view) but, for the price point, I would expect a... larger portion size. More

The food was good, it is overpriced but you have a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower and the location is great so it is to be expected. We were served by Amouri and he was very polite and welcoming and provided great service throughout.... The service was very quick and he made a lot of effort to make sure we had a nice experience. Food was average here. Waiters seemed nice but we ended up being asked to tip. Tipping in Paris is not mandatory but instead, when we were billed, the waiter was right beside us with the credit card machine in hand, asking “how much do we... want to tip”. As a foreigner we felt compelled to give an amount on the spot. Having been in Paris for 3 days, we have never encountered anything like that. All the other restaurants we went to which had even better service, did not expect or demand for a tip in such a manner. More

I came with a friend of mine at 9pm and the waiter wasn’t very friendly. The waiter wasn’t very attentive, we finished the water bottle without anyone paying attention to us. They also mark 1€ extra fee for the orders after 7pm but the waiter... told us it didn’t apply. We ordered a croque-monsieur and a cesar salad. The croque-monsieur and fries were cold, the cheese on the croque-monsieur wasn’t melted at all.The sauce of the salad didn’t taste good, the chicken wasn’t good and the tomatoes weren’t fresh. The portion sizes were ridiculously small. A waste of money and time More

We had the l'entrecote and I had a St Germain Spritz (not on the menu) and when I got the bill, they priced my spritz the same as the steak. How ridiculous is that. I pointed it out to the waiter saying this must be... a mistake and I was told that was the price. I didn't have the energy to argue. But after that visit I looked up other reviews and a I read many that pricing doesn't seem consistent with what's on the menu. Shame. More

Shocking prices, service below average. We had already decided to eat in but didnt fancy anything heavy so we had a look inside and the croque monsieur looked nice. At 5.50 euros for 2 slices of cheap bread, with bechamel, cheap ham and gruyere we... thought it was OK. So we ordered that plus two coffee. We were ask if we wanted water so as in any other restaurants we had been previously we said yes please. The croque monsieur was below average and the coffee was the worse we have ever had, it was disgusting and served in craqued mugs. The bill came... And so did the shock. They add on 10 euros on the top of each croque monsieur for the privilege of sitting at a table where there isn't enough room to put 2 plates and not sure where the view of the Eiffel tower was. And they had charged us for the water. Some will say that's the way it is. However all the other restaurants where honest enough to explain the charging situation. Felt completely ripped off More

Ordered a cheese burger and bacon burger, not asked how we wanted them cooked when the couple next to us were asked. Burgers still mooing they were that raw and bloody. Asked for a tap water and got a 6€ bottle of still water?! We... were not looking for money off the bill, but when our meals were practically untouched due to being under cooked, I think the least they could do was knock money off but they didn’t. They just said sorry about the meat. Good view, reasonably friendly staff but overall would not recommend. More

Congrats on the worst experience in Paris! When visiting the french capital a degree of indifference/ snobbery from the occasional waiter having a bad day is expected, but when stopping at this place for a few drinks and maybe a snack before going to the... Eiffel Tower they were clear winners. We asked for a table for quatre and my wife was admonished by the tw*t of a waiter for mispronouncing quatre. He hissed ‘I don’t speak Spanish’ in retort. On ordering drinks the miserable idiot said ‘I must af snacks’ which i presume meant we must order food. I said we just wanted drinks to which he shrugged his shoulders and said ‘zen you must leave.’ So we went across the road and had drinks and snacks anyway in the very pleasant and friendly Cafe Gustav not 20 metres away. For a business clearly reliant on tourists, they obviously despise them with every fibre of their DNA. AVOID unless you enjoy being verbally abused by a failure of a waiter over a mediocre-looking croissant. More

Very poor experience I must say! We arrived for a drink at around 10pm and we were told to seat near the road, despite loads of other nicer tables available, the service was not great at all, it seemed that we were not welcomed and... the waiters kept telling us that it wasn’t his area! We ordered a Coca Cola and a glass of wine, price was 23.50 euros! An absolute disgrace, the toilets are absolutely awful and not cleaned the worst I have ever experienced! Would not recommend More

What seemed a nice spot with views on the Eiffel Tower, was a total scam. Rudest waiters ever. When the waiter came to take our order, he didn’t even want to repeat a sentence. Food en drinks were thrown on the table. Decent Bordeaux wine... but not what you expect for €30. Food totally not worth the money. €21,5 for a burger that you cant get for €4 a couple streets further at Mcdo. Anyway, that’s not the worst part. When we asked for the bill, the waiter added €20 for service. When we showed him the dessert menu, showing that taxes en service are included, he just made an angry sigh. Asking how we make our money,… Lukily we were with a group of 10 friends. He wanted to take the credit card and put it in himself so we could’t see the amount we were paying. Payment was probably also put through twice. Giving an update about this. Totally not worth the money and time. If you want to have a good time, buy some drinks and go to sit in the park ahead of the Eiffel Tower. Think twice before going here and read the other reviews… More

We asked for a table to drink something and after we sit down a waiter came to take the order and sent us away in a very rude mode because we didn't order anything to eat. They are really offensive and don't care about the... customers. Avoid it! Maleducati e offensivi nei confronti dei clienti. Da evitare assolutamente. Prezzi altissimi. More

Two club sandwiches and two children’s meals- €76. We ordered water, tap was not an option, but we were brought two bottles of water at €6 each. The food was ok, but it was not filling. For €76, I’d have expected to be full. Service... was at least quick so we didn’t have to wait for long. More

Poor for this price I expect better! The quality of the salad/lettuce was bad. It was clear that the lettuce was even already old (it was brown at the borders). We came after a tour in a Sena river for having something hot to drink and the service was horrible. We ordered a chocolate with baylis and we got a chocolate and the baylis separate as the kitchen forgot to put the baylis in the... Chocolate. It was a whole chaos when we try to put the baylis inside the Chocolate. No napkins... More

While this place gets bad reviews, tables were a little cramped, and the waiter asked us if we wanted to contribute to a tip (which we were happy to do) I had a great experience here. We needed to grab a quick dinner before our... tour of the Eiffel Tower and our waiter not only rushed our order for us but asked the tour guide who her personally knew to wait for us in case we were a little late. When the food came out it was excellent. Very happy with our experience. More

History of the restaurants

For the Universal Exhibition of 1889, four majestic wooden pavilions designed by Stephen Sauvestre decked the platform on the first floor. Each restaurant could seat 500 people.

For the Universal Exhibition of 1889, four majestic wooden pavilions designed by Stephen Sauvestre decked the platform on the first floor. Each restaurant could seat 500 people. The kitchens were attached to the underside of the platform and, until 1900, the restaurants relied on gas lights.

• Trocadéro side : A bar dubbed the “Flamand” (the Flemish) instead served Alsatian cuisine, and the waitresses wore regional clothing. It was then transformed into a very popular theater. During the Exhibition of 1900, however, it did become a short-lived restaurant again, and described as Dutch this time. The theatre resumed its activities up until war broke out in 1914.
• Between the Eastern and Northern pillars : A typical Russian restaurant welcomed visitors.
• Champ-de-Mars side : Visitors were offered French fare at Brébant, which was for a long time considered a chic restaurant.

These four establishments were demolished for the International Exhibition of 1937 , which led to a complete overhaul of the Tower's first floor. Only two restaurants were then rebuilt, one where the Russian restaurant had been, and the other where the Dutch one had. The architect Auguste Granet, who was married to the granddaughter of Gustave Eiffel, headed the 1930s-style construction.

In the early 1980s, these restaurants were replaced when the Tower underwent major renovations. The brand-new " La Belle France " and " Le Parisien " became the two not-to-be-missed gourmet restaurants on the Eiffel Tower. In 1996, “La Belle France” and “Le Parisien” were transformed into one huge brasserie. Decorated by Slavik and Loup, with a hot air balloon inspired theme, its structure emphasized the view of Paris. It was named the “Altitude 95,” a winking reference to aerial navigation, owing to its location 95 metres above sea level.

In the late 2000s, the First Floor brasserie was named 58 Tour Eiffel, as a reference to its altitude in meters.  Now, in 2022, after two years of renovations, Madame Brasserie is born. It’s a new, 100% Parisian experience, with chef Thierry Marx at the reins. In a bright setting, with unique panoramic views of either the Tower’s central structure or Trocadero, Madame Brasserie offers a fresh experience for your tastebuds with contemporary cuisine using local, seasonal products.

Gourmet cuisine 125 metres above the capital

By 1983, the construction of the Jules Verne restaurant on the second floor was finished, an homage to the famous novelist and spokesperson for literary, scientific, and industrial progress. Customers enjoy privileged access via the South pillar elevator, reserved exclusively for use by the restaurant.

The restaurant earned Michelin-Stars with its successive Chefs , Alain Reix, and Alain Ducasse. Since October 1st, 2018, Triple Michelin-starred chef Frédéric Anton has taken the helm of this legendary restaurant where the view is always unique, both day and night.  After some significant renovation et refurbishment works, the mythical spot reopened to the public in summer 2019. It has already become, since then, a "must see and taste" spot in the gastronomic Paris.

Inside of the restaurant was very narrow and tables were placed very close. Outside seems larger however pavement was not large enough for a additional chair to the table. It blocked the pedestrians and scooter riders. On food side, beef tartar and veggie pasta was... extremely delicious and advised to all visitors. They lack employees so delivery takes some time, however the waiters are very friendly and helpful. 1 missing point for the toilet. It was too small and not clean enough for a place/location like that. More

Found this by chance near the exit of the Effiel Tower. It was cozy and welcoming. The server was friendly and the food was delicious and served promptly. Both the steak and ribeye were prepared beautifully as were the fish & chips and chicken with... rice. I was thrown by the request for a tip because I thought it was not routine in France but the server took the refusal well. More

Nice dinner by the Seine river and very close to the Eiffel Tower. Food was good and came quickly. The wine recommendations were good. Our main waiter was very friendly. We could tell that’s the place is prized by the locals, as opposed to nearby... restaurants that felt very touristy. On the downside, toilet cleanliness can be improved. Also, although it’s on a corner, the restaurant isn’t particularly designed to provide a view on the river and no view at all for the Eiffel Tower. More

We entered here looking a nice place to have a drink before going on a river cruise. Having noticed others were enjoying a nice glass of wine as a group we thought, we'd be able to do the same. We thought wrong. Unfortunately the waitress... who's greeted us immediately made us leave our seats (of which there plenty empty) when she realised we didn't want an entire meal. She instead directed us towards the bar, where we wrongly. Assumed there would be bar stools. Admittedly the wine my girlfriend ordered was nice. Regrettably, there was clearly a fly in the bottom of the glass my beer was poured into. Both myself and the waiter were undeniably aware of this, yet he chose to pretend nothing had happened and scrape it off the head of the beer. Needless to say, we left feeling a bit mugged off. It wasn't overly clean and compared to the lovely restaurant we went to afterwards, leaves a lot to be desired. More

This place is horrible. My wife and I went here with our friends ( during our first day in Paris on our anniversary) we entered the restaurant in the afternoon waited to be seated and we were abruptly told to “wait here “ in a... bit very friendly broken English accent from the black haired waitress. When she finally decided to seat my wife and friends along with their son. She began setting the table fast and banging the silverware and glasses down and pushing into each of us with her elbows. It was hot and we were all hungry and very thirsty ( I was dizzy and felt bad due to the heat and jet lag). I asked the waitress while she was angrily setting the table if there was a place to wash my had and with a sharp abrupt reply she said ( down stairs need to pay!) My wife looks at me with s shock on her face. I said okay… and looked at my wife. We waited for about 20 mins before water and drinks were brought to our table and when we began to order that is when things got interesting . The the dark haired woman gave us all an attitude because she couldn’t understand my wife our friends accents as they are Brazilian and I am American. So, she ( the dark haired waitress went over and spoke seemingly with the manager ) they both had a long conversation before our food came out with a different waitress a blond woman. She was a bit more pleasant but was obviously picked to deal with us as she had the kind of attitude veered she didn’t really want to be there. Towards the end of our meals we each tried to navigate super tight spaces seating and while getting up I knocked over a glass and it broke in the floor . The waitress and the other saw what happened but, no one came to clean the glass from the waking path on the restaurant floor. My friends brother pushed the glass with his shoe under his table so no one in the restaurant would get hurt . We waited for someone to come and clean it up. The thing is the blond waitress that had been chosen to server us ( not waiting to do it to begin with) came over and saw the glass broke and began yelling at my friend in poor English . We don’t speak French but con one really . The blond waitress verbally browbeat my friend in front of the customers and staff and no one did anything to help us or even apologize for this horrible experience. Talk about feeling race discrimination in a big way. Don’t eat her and go some place else if you’re every in Paris on Vacation . -5 Stars for this awful location! More

The waitress was a blonde woman who was very rude. She kept complaining that she cannot keep up with all the people coming in. She brought the wrong order to the table next to us and kept telling the woman to wait and she cannot... wait on her. When ordering a carafe of water like the table next to us, she would not bring us one and brought us frizzy water instead. When eating the steak we asked for bread numerous times, which it never came. Upon paying she kept chatting with us, about she could not keep up with all the tables, with the hopes of leaving her tips. Never again. There are much better restaurants with better food and service. The food was good. More

French onion soup that tasted like dishwater. The French restaurant in Edinburgh did it better! The house cocktail was disappointing at best. Fish and chips my friend ordered was clearly frozen and reheated. The salad was sad, gritty and wilted. And I had “Le burger”... What to say about this particular dish. The burger was raw and still moving. Sent it back. Flashed the burger in the microwave, didn’t give me a fresh bun., so it had sweated and was so soggy! Nor did they replace the chips which in turn became soggy! The attitude of the staff both front and back of house was disappointing… After complaining. They discounted 3€ from 17 We were not happy with this. They claimed they sell hundreds of burgers every day and yet they fuc*ed up this much I myself work as a chef in fine dining in Scotland! I’m half French and I was embarrassed for them! They eventually gave a 50% discount on the burger but didn’t leave full or happy I would not recommend you to eat here! It’s a health hazard More

I was very disappointed in the service and how rude the wait staff was. I’m not sure if it was because we were an African American couple but it was very disheartening and I will never visit nor recommend this restaurant to anyone and it’s... sad because I am in the airline industry and I am also a travel agent so people rely on me for reviews. This was the worst experience for our last night here in Paris. Pictured below was suppose to be a Cosmopolitan and it tasted horrible and waiter was upset that I wanted something else. More

If you aren’t local you might get discriminated against. As soon as our server realized we didn’t speak French her tone of voice became condescending and short winded. We waited 45min before someone served us as many many other tables were serviced immediately and quickly.... I stumbled upon this place for breakfast, and it was better than i thought it would be. The waiter that served me helped me understand the menu and the definitions and i don't understand some of the items as they were in French. i had... a pain au chocolat and a hot chocolate with cream, they came within 5 minutes and the food was fresh and amazing, and the drink was made just right. We ordered tap water (having visited the EU multiple times I know that they charge ridiculous prices for bottles of water) and our server brought out bottled water. When the young man next to us decided to be a Good Samaritan and clue us into... this practice, the server forcefully removed the water from our table and when she brought the carafe of water she also forcefully set it down. Later she walked over to the young man and in French exchanged words with him regarding him telling us about the water. I understand that it can be frustrating when someone does not speak the language of the country they are in, however, it does not afford you the right to be rude. Especially to the young man helping us. Sad thing is we were going to order dessert, but on principle I could not. More

I would like to give less but can’t….I cannot review the food as we were never served. We were seated but left and although the waiter passed by and even bumped into us…never acknowledged us to take our order. We waited approx 20 mins and... then decided to just leave as there are so many places to eat on every block. More

We came here as a family of 4 after going up the Eiffel Tour. The restaurant is ideally located - near enough to walk easily from Eiffel Tower but not SO close that it feels overly touristy. In fact, we saw many French people dining... inside and drinking outside which is always a good sign! Food was served in large portions and quick service. They had a children's option for my daughter which was great. Cocktails were so nice - virgin Mojitos are divine. Staff very friendly and chatty and the lady who welcomed us was so polite and warm. Possibly the most disgusting Caesar salad I’ve ever had the experience to taste…it was vile. The lettuce was chunks of brown ends. I’d have thrown out. Chicken was frozen breaded goujons. Finally when the waiter came to take order we ordered few drinks and one main course as we had to rush to the boat.. I ordered another linguine... psata but was told it won't be ready in 15mins and the guy refused to take order as it was not enough to take a table space of 5. It was not our mistake and we were not told about minimum order quantity. More

A great French café with an extremely varied menu. The food is served attentively and to a good quality. I understand you pay for the location (the restaurant has a view of the Eiffel Tower view) but, for the price point, I would expect a... larger portion size. More

The food was good, it is overpriced but you have a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower and the location is great so it is to be expected. We were served by Amouri and he was very polite and welcoming and provided great service throughout.... The service was very quick and he made a lot of effort to make sure we had a nice experience. Food was average here. Waiters seemed nice but we ended up being asked to tip. Tipping in Paris is not mandatory but instead, when we were billed, the waiter was right beside us with the credit card machine in hand, asking “how much do we... want to tip”. As a foreigner we felt compelled to give an amount on the spot. Having been in Paris for 3 days, we have never encountered anything like that. All the other restaurants we went to which had even better service, did not expect or demand for a tip in such a manner. More

I came with a friend of mine at 9pm and the waiter wasn’t very friendly. The waiter wasn’t very attentive, we finished the water bottle without anyone paying attention to us. They also mark 1€ extra fee for the orders after 7pm but the waiter... told us it didn’t apply. We ordered a croque-monsieur and a cesar salad. The croque-monsieur and fries were cold, the cheese on the croque-monsieur wasn’t melted at all.The sauce of the salad didn’t taste good, the chicken wasn’t good and the tomatoes weren’t fresh. We had the l'entrecote and I had a St Germain Spritz (not on the menu) and when I got the bill, they priced my spritz the same as the steak. How ridiculous is that. I pointed it out to the waiter saying this must be... a mistake and I was told that was the price. I didn't have the energy to argue. But after that visit I looked up other reviews and a I read many that pricing doesn't seem consistent with what's on the menu. Shame. More

Shocking prices, service below average. We had already decided to eat in but didnt fancy anything heavy so we had a look inside and the croque monsieur looked nice. At 5.50 euros for 2 slices of cheap bread, with bechamel, cheap ham and gruyere we... thought it was OK. So we ordered that plus two coffee. We were ask if we wanted water so as in any other restaurants we had been previously we said yes please. The croque monsieur was below average and the coffee was the worse we have ever had, it was disgusting and served in craqued mugs. The bill came... And so did the shock. They add on 10 euros on the top of each croque monsieur for the privilege of sitting at a table where there isn't enough room to put 2 plates and not sure where the view of the Eiffel tower was. And they had charged us for the water. Some will say that's the way it is. However all the other restaurants where honest enough to explain the charging situation. Felt completely ripped off More

Ordered a cheese burger and bacon burger, not asked how we wanted them cooked when the couple next to us were asked. Burgers still mooing they were that raw and bloody. Asked for a tap water and got a 6€ bottle of still water?! We... were not looking for money off the bill, but when our meals were practically untouched due to being under cooked, I think the least they could do was knock money off but they didn’t. They just said sorry about the meat. Good view, reasonably friendly staff but overall would not recommend. More

Congrats on the worst experience in Paris! When visiting the french capital a degree of indifference/ snobbery from the occasional waiter having a bad day is expected, but when stopping at this place for a few drinks and maybe a snack before going to the... Eiffel Tower they were clear winners. We asked for a table for quatre and my wife was admonished by the tw*t of a waiter for mispronouncing quatre. He hissed ‘I don’t speak Spanish’ in retort. On ordering drinks the miserable idiot said ‘I must af snacks’ which i presume meant we must order food. I said we just wanted drinks to which he shrugged his shoulders and said ‘zen you must leave.’ So we went across the road and had drinks and snacks anyway in the very pleasant and friendly Cafe Gustav not 20 metres away. For a business clearly reliant on tourists, they obviously despise them with every fibre of their DNA. AVOID unless you enjoy being verbally abused by a failure of a waiter over a mediocre-looking croissant. More

Very poor experience I must say! We arrived for a drink at around 10pm and we were told to seat near the road, despite loads of other nicer tables available, the service was not great at all, it seemed that we were not welcomed and... the waiters kept telling us that it wasn’t his area! We ordered a Coca Cola and a glass of wine, price was 23.50 euros! An absolute disgrace, the toilets are absolutely awful and not cleaned the worst I have ever experienced! Would not recommend More

What seemed a nice spot with views on the Eiffel Tower, was a total scam. Rudest waiters ever. When the waiter came to take our order, he didn’t even want to repeat a sentence. Food en drinks were thrown on the table. Decent Bordeaux wine... but not what you expect for €30. Food totally not worth the money. €21,5 for a burger that you cant get for €4 a couple streets further at Mcdo. Anyway, that’s not the worst part. When we asked for the bill, the waiter added €20 for service. When we showed him the dessert menu, showing that taxes en service are included, he just made an angry sigh. Asking how we make our money,… Lukily we were with a group of 10 friends. He wanted to take the credit card and put it in himself so we could’t see the amount we were paying. Payment was probably also put through twice. Giving an update about this. Totally not worth the money and time. If you want to have a good time, buy some drinks and go to sit in the park ahead of the Eiffel Tower. Think twice before going here and read the other reviews… More

We asked for a table to drink something and after we sit down a waiter came to take the order and sent us away in a very rude mode because we didn't order anything to eat.
