5 star trek things to expect at comic con 2023.

The SAG-AFTRA strike means that Star Trek's biggest stars won't be in attendance at this years San Diego Comic-Con, but there's still much to enjoy.

Star Trek is a regular fixture at the San Diego Comic-Con and 2023 attendees can expect a weekend of panels and exciting teases of future projects. The concurrent Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America strikes will considerably reduce the likelihood of the stars of Star Trek appearing at San Diego next weekend. One of the rules of the actors' strike is that no SAG member will promote their work for any network, studio, or streamer, and SDCC is one of the biggest promotional events around.

With that in mind, it's likely that Star Trek will rely on sharing exciting new footage and could also announce pre-strike casting information for future projects like Star Trek: Section 31 or Star Trek: Starfleet Academy . Many of the big reveals may be held back for Star Trek Day in September when, hopefully, the studios and the unions will have reached a satisfying agreement. For now, however, Star Trek 's upcoming schedule gives some hints as to what to expect at this year's San Diego Comic Con.

What Star Trek Panels To Expect At Comic Con 2023

Star Trek The Animated Series SDCC 2019

Two Star Trek panels have been announced for this year's SDCC including a huge overview of Alex Kurtzman's expansive universe, and a celebration of the franchise's animated adventures to commemorate 50 years of Star Trek: The Animated Series . The "Star Trek Universe Panel" is expected to reveal some information about the upcoming Star Trek: Section 31 movie, and is confirmed to feature a special preview screening of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds/Star Trek: Lower Decks crossover episode.

A special session entitled "Boldy Go: The Psychology of Star Trek: Picard" will be hosted by the Arkham Sessions on Saturday evening. Among the panelists discussing how psychology influenced the storytelling in Star Trek: Picard are showrunner Terry Matalas, co-executive producer Christopher Monfette, and co-producer Matt Okumura.

The current schedule of Star Trek panels is as follows:

  • “Official 50th Star Trek Animated Celebration” on Friday, July 21 (10 AM Room 25ABC)
  • "Star Trek Universe Panel" on Saturday, July 22 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM in Hall H
  • "Boldy Go: The Psychology of Star Trek: Picard" hosted by The Arkham Sessions on Saturday, July 22 at 7 PM, RM Grand 12, Marriott Marquis

In addition to the panels, Booth #3529 on the exhibition floor will be a Star Trek: Strange New Worlds booth, allowing attendees to " explore the Enterprise ". Meanwhile, a fandom party will be held at FLOAT at the Hard Rock Hotel on July 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. On top of that, the Energize Lounge hosted by Hero Within will offer Star Trek -themed coffee drinks alongside merch displays, and special promos by RockLove Jewelry, the Star Trek Cruise, and IDW publishing. The Lounge will be open throughout SDCC 2023 and is located at 332 J Street in the Gaslamp, which, according to Trek Movie , is just one block from the San Diego Convention Center.

Star Trek: Discovery Should Reveal Season 5

Michael Burnham rides a bike in Star Trek Discovery Season 5 First Look.

With Star Trek: Discovery 's finale due to start streaming in 2024, it's likely that attendees will be treated to new footage and images. The first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery season 5 was revealed at New York Comic-Con back in October 2022, so it's likely that an updated trailer will be screened during the Star Trek Universe panel. Reshoots have taken place to make season 5 a proper ending to Discovery , so it's possible that some of this new footage will be presented at SDCC.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Should Tease End Of Season 2 & Lower Decks Crossover

Jack Quaid as Brad Boimler from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

SDCC 2023 takes place in the weekend before Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ' crossover with Star Trek: Lower Decks streams on Paramount+. It's therefore likely that an exclusive clip of the highly anticipated episode will form part of the SNW section of the Star Trek Universe panel. It's also likely that the panel will share some teases for Strange New Worlds ' season 2 finale in the form of either a trailer for the final 4 episodes or some enticing images of the ominously titled "Hegemony".

Star Trek: Lower Decks Season 4 Reveals

Lower Decks Mariner season 4

Star Trek: Lower Decks season 4 is the next Trek show to stream on Paramount+, scheduled for late summer. SDCC therefore feels like the perfect place to screen a trailer for season 4, revealing what audiences can expect from the animated comedy. Last year's Strange New Worlds panel revealed the crossover with Strange New Worlds and the Deep Space Nine episode of Lower Decks . Given the tease of Section 31 in Lower Decks season 3, the mind boggles as to what a season 4 trailer will reveal.

Star Trek Actors Not Expected To Be At Comic Con 2023

Star Trek Lower Decks and Star Trek Strange New Worlds Animated Crossover

Unless the SAG-AFTRA strike is resolved within the week, there won't be any Star Trek actors present at this year's San Diego Comic-Con. The same goes for the writing teams on the likes of Star Trek: Discovery, Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks . It will be disappointing not to hear from the stars at this year's SDCC, but it's worth bearing in mind that there's no Star Trek without the writers and actors involved, all of whom deserve fair treatment from the studios.

More Trek-related panels

In addition to the two official Star Trek panels, there are quite a few panels related to Star Trek including official licensees, and unofficial panels related to Star Trek. Here are some of the highlights (NOTE: Some panels have been canceled).

How to Boldly Go into the Star Trek Universe – 1:00pm – 2:00pm Grand 12 & 13, Marriott Marquis

With Discovery, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, and Picard, Star Trek is going strong after 57 years. However, with so much Trek and such little time, it’s overwhelming to know what is essential viewing. With over a dozen movies, several series, and now all the streaming content, where does someone new to Star Trek start? Moderator Tony B Kim (Hero Within, Crazy 4 Comic Con) leads this fun and helpful discussion with Star Trek pros Giraffe (Strange New Podcast), Myrriah Gossett (Star Trek Discovery Podcast), and Clyde Haynes (Star Trek Discovery Podcast).

Star Trek: More Bold Than Ever Before [IDW] – 2:00pm – 1:00pm Room 28DE

Never before has Star Trek been bigger (or bloodier)! IDW Group Editor Heather Antos and writers Chris Cantwell, Collin Kelly, and Jackson Lanzing give an inside look into Star Trek: Day of Blood, the first ever Star Trek comics crossover event. Plus: Marc Guggenheim, Sam Maggs, Malachi Ward, Chirs Sequiera, and Liana Kangas share all the exciting things happening across IDW’s line of Star Trek comics.

Inglorious Treksperts Live: Free Enterprise at 25 – 4:00pm – 5:00pm Room 5AB

The hosts of the Star Trek podcast Inglorious Treksperts present a 25th anniversary tribute to the ultimate love letter to Star Trek, the beloved cult classic Free Enterprise, released in theaters in 1999 and starring William Shatner and Eric McCormack. Panelists will be sharing never-before-seen clips and footage from the film that proved Captain Kirk was cooler than Han Solo. Featuring Inglorious Treksperts hosts Mark A. Altman (author, Star Trek: The Fifty-Year Mission; writer/producer, Free Enterprise), Daren Dochterman (associate producer, Star Trek: The Motion Picture—Director’s Edition), Ashley E. Miller (writer, Thor, X-Men: First Class), and Robert Meyer Burnett (director/writer, Free Enterprise, The Burnettwork), along with a special panelist or two.

It’s Alive, Jim! Evolutionary Biology in Star Trek – 8:00pm – 9:00pm Room 28DE

Did you ever wonder if giant space jellyfish could ever realistically be a thing? Could our parasites evolve to take over Starfleet Command? Or computers be reprogrammed by sentient yeast? Would aliens really just look like us with pointy ears or ridge noses? Since the beginning of Star Trek, exploring strange new worlds has been synonymous with meeting fascinating new species—friendly or less friendly . . . Star Trek shows us life as we know it and as we’ve never seen it before, and examining the science behind both can teach us a lot about where we come from, where we’re going, and what we might meet—out there. Dr. Ashley Poust (paleontologist at the San Diego Natural History Museum), Dr. Danielle de Carle (researcher and lecturer at the University of Toronto), and Dr. Amanda Jack (biochemist and biophysicist at SyntheX) take a deep dive into the reality, the fiction, and the possibilities of this Trek-tastic biology these last 56 years. Moderated by Giraffe of the Star Trek podcast Strange New Pod.

William Shatner: You Can Call Me Bill – 4:30pm – 6:00pm Hall H

Celebrate the icon himself, William Shatner, for an entertaining discussion about two of his most recent adventures: Legion M’s new documentary, You Can Call Me Bill, and the famed sci-fi captain’s real-life journey into space! Bill respectfully withdrew from attending the panel in solidarity with his striking brethren, but you can still beam into Hall H to witness some fascinating clips from the documentary, and a lively chat between doc director Alexandre O. Philippe (The People vs. George Lucas, Lynch/Oz); Hall H usher-turned-Space for Humanity Citizen Astronaut-01 Katya Echazarreta (the first Mexican-born woman in space); Michael Edmonds (president, Club for the Future), SVP of Blue Origin, the company paving the path to space so our children can build the future; Rachel Lyons, executive director for Space for Humanity, the nonprofit organization behind the world’s first Citizen Astronaut Program; and Legion M executives Jeff Annison and David Baxter. Among the topics will be how everyone will be able to see You Can Call Me Bill in the very near future, and a special, new joint venture between Legion M and Space for Humanity! Publicist Gary Miereanu moderates.

Star Trek: The Art of Neville Page – 5:30pm – 6:30pm Room 10

Concept artist Neville Page discusses his incredible career with Forbidden Planet TV’s Andrew Sumner. As a visionary creature designer, Neville has applied his considerable expertise to the creation and development of the aliens of the Star Trek universe. From the movies Star Trek (2009) through to Star Trek Beyond (2016), as well as the shows Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, Page’s incredibly detailed and intricate work has yielded some of the franchise’s most memorable characters! Star Trek: The Art of Neville Page from Titan Books is a stunning retrospective celebrating all of Neville’s fantastic Star Trek creations – and debut copies will be available at the show!

Boldly Go: The Psychology of Star Trek: Picard – 7:00pm – 8:00pm Grand 12 & 13, Marriott Marquis

Dr. Drea Letamendi (psychologist at UCLA, host of The Arkham Sessions Podcast) and Brian Ward (host of The Arkham Sessions Podcast) take a deep dive into the psychology of Star Trek: Picard’s final season with showrunner Terry Matalas, co-executive producer Christopher Monfette, and co-producer Matt Okumura. This lively conversation will celebrate what makes Trek both illuminating and entertaining and will cover powerfully emotive themes such as resilient leadership, family conflict, and finding purpose in the face of failures, risks, and dangers only imagined in the final frontier.

Star Trek: Picard—Unofficial!: Backstage and Between the Cracks – 1:00pm – 2:00pm Room 24ABC

Larry “Dr. Trek” Nemecek (Portal 47, The Trek Files) moderates a show-n-tell and tall-tales panel presentation by two of the hands-on art directors who brought you the magnificent sets of ST: Picard’s Season 3, Liz Kloczkowski and Kit Stølen. From the alien worlds to the storied Enterprise-D bridge recreation, they’re bringing lots of backstage images and answers to your questions!

Roxann Dawson Explains Why She Turned Down Chance To Direct New Star Trek TV

Will we get official word on if STFC will have an ENT arc after VOY wraps up. I hope so. I want Shran.

I guess there’s some optimism that S31 will see the light of day…..some day.

It’s nice that they have so much going on considering the strikes going on.

I wonder if the Animation panel would have featured some creatives/cast from Lower Decks and/or Prodigy if it weren’t for the strikes (and Prodigy’s cancelation).

I’m not watching anything made after 1965 until the strike is over.

Hoping we get some info on the Section 31 film.

Gotta boycott conventions until the strike is over.

Animation Celebration? I feel like they are missing something….

“ With Discovery, Lower Decks, Strange New Worlds, and Picard, Star Trek is going strong after 57 years.”

Omitting Prodigy while still citing the (concluded) Picard , huh? Damn.

Yeah, they almost seem to have something against it for some reason.

How is the SAG strike going to affect the convention? I’ve read in other places that actors cannot attend the panels during the strike. Is that correct because if it is, it fundamentally changes everything.

The strike also means that actors are not allowed to promote work they have shot already. So for example, they cannot talk about the upcoming season of Discovery or Lower Decks during the Star Trek Universe panel.

What seems to be less clear is whether actors can make personal appearances at a convention and talk about previous work that has long since aired, e.g. someone like Armin Shimerman talking about DS9 at a convention. They are allowed to appear at conventions and, for example, pose for pictures with fans, but it may be that they simply cannot answer any work-related questions.

Every new Star Trek show boldly goes, but Star Trek: Discovery had the unenviable position of going first in the Paramount Plus explosion of new Star Trek TV. And if the the first clips from the upcoming fifth and final season — revealed during today’s Star Trek panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 — have anything to say, the series is going to boldly go out with a bang.

The clip, an action sequence with little context of what lead up to it, follows Captain Michael Burnham as she is flung from a tense confrontation in the halls of a wrecked spaceship to piggybacking on the hull of a craft as it leaps into warp.

Season 5 of Discovery began filming last June, with the expectation of a premiere in early 2023. This March, however, Paramount both announced that it would be the final season of the show and that its premiere would be pushed out to early 2024. Stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, David Ajala are expected to return as the crew of the starship Discovery for adventures in the far future time (even for Star Trek) of the 3200s.

Also, according to this new clip, David Cronenberg (yes, the actual David Cronenberg) will reprise his recurring role as the Federation expert Doctor Kovich.

Star Trek Mixes Past and Future at San Diego Comic-Con Panel

san diego star trek

By Jordan Hoffman

Anson Mount mugging at San Diego ComicCon.

The San Diego Convention Center’s main stage was rebranded as Starbase H for a brief while on Saturday, as Paramount + beamed in representatives from three of the five current Star Trek shows that are “boldly going” at different points in the timeline.

Most breathtaking was the reveal of character portraits and a teaser trailer for Picard ’s third and final season. Sir Patrick Stewart (Admiral Jean-Luc Picard) and, back in the fold after a long interval, Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), reunited onstage, alongside the President of the United Federation of the Franchise, producer Alex Kurtzman . When Picard was first announced, all involved managed fan expectations, telling them not to expect a full-blown Star Trek: The Next Generation curtain call. With season three, though, it looks like that’s exactly what’s happening.

Though not all made it to the stage, nearly everyone from the old days is back on board, including, like McFadden, long-time-coming veterans LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) and Michael Dorn (Worf). Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker, and Picard’s forever Number One), and Brent Spiner (Data), who have all made short appearances in Picard thus far, are also involved in the adventure, as is Trek alum Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine). Michelle Hurd (Raffi Musiker) appears to be the only new-to- Picard character still on the show.

The teaser rips lines of dialogue out of context, against brooding imagery of our ol’ pals wandering around the set of The Charlie Rose Show with some digital lens flares. The biggest takeaway is that Worf, the mighty Son of Mogh, of the House of Martok, who rose from Discommendation to restoring the Klingon Empire after defeating the wicked Chancellor Gowron, is now an interplanetary silver fox.

Showrunner Terry Matalas also teased fans about what the fan-favorite might be up to in the new season.

“I think we took two seasons to earn the return of the [“TNG”] crew,” Kurtzman said , but then dodged any specifics, other than to say the primary villain of season three is female. Stewart also hinted that the ship that made Picard a legend, the USS Enterprise, designation NCC-1701-D, will be back. Somehow. (It was replaced by the Enterprise-E in the film Star Trek: First Contact .)

Moving back a few years in the timeline (and into two dimensions), Star Trek: Lower Decks debuted its third season trailer. This animated series, created by Solar Opposites co-creator and Rick and Morty -alum Mike McMahan bends (but does not break) Trek lore for the sake of comedy, and hardcore fans (you’ve heard of them , right?) have been gobbling it up.

After McMahan and voice actors Tawny Newsome , Jack Quaid , Noel Wells , and Dawnn Lewis traded zings with the crowd, representatives from the newest show (though earliest in the timeline) Strange New Worlds came out.

While the panelists, Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike), Ethan Peck (Spock), Christina Chong (La'an Noonien Singh), Celia Rose Gooding (Nyota Uhura), Paul Wesley (James T. Kirk, in his younger years), and producer Henry Alonso Myers didn’t have any footage to share, things did get weird when Newsome and Quaid “crashed” their panel to announce that there would be a crossover episode between the two series.

While this has happened before (the highs, the Deep Space Nine crew going back in time to visit “ The Trouble With Tribbles ”; the lows, Riker putzing around on the holodeck in the Enterprise finale ) it has never involved Star Trek animation before. And yet, sometime soon, we’ll see what Ensigns Beckett Mariner and Bradward Boimler “really” look like.

After this announcement, the regularly scheduled panel resumed, which included jokes about Anson Mount’s hair.

All the 'Star Trek' news we found from San Diego Comic-Con 2023

An otherwise relatively modest San Diego Comic-Con line up at least yielded some worthwhile news from the 'Star Trek' universe

Star Trek Universe logo with delta insignia in red, yellow and blue.

It seems like we've only just managed to get past the pandemic and yet now there's a whole heap of fresh problems facing the convention scene. We are of course talking about the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which are further compounded by the Streaming Wars™.

What does all of this boil down to? Well, San Diego Comic-Con 2023 (SDCC) was a significantly smaller-scale affair than previous years. No Marvel or DC or HBO, and Amazon Prime cancelled a whole bunch of events. Even William Shatner cancelled his Hall H talk. That said, nothing will ever beat the carnival atmosphere that takes over the whole of downtown San Diego and the Gaslamp District, and as the local press reported, every hotel was fully booked and the crowds still came.

Related: Star Trek streaming guide: Where to watch Star Trek movies and TV shows

Without a doubt, this year's "Star Trek" Universe panel was the biggest event at SDCC, which in of itself is a little bit of a shame, as it's always nice to have several panels competing for that coveted title. Regardless, here's a rundown of all the latest Trek-related news and announcements.

Watch Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount Plus:

Watch Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount Plus: Get a one month free trial

Get all the Star Trek content you can possibly handle with this free trial of Paramount Plus. Watch new shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and all the classic Trek movies and TV shows too. Plans start from $4.99/month after the trial ends.

Star Trek: Discovery

Fans were treated to a set piece sneak peak rather than a trailer, complete with flamebursts even in space, 32nd century starships with separated nacelles and rotatable sections and all the things that we hate love about "Star Trek: Discovery." According to the official blurb accompanying that clip, "Captain Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) pursues Moll (Eve Harlow) and L'ak (Elias Toufexis) by holding onto their starship while it travels at warp speed.

This will be the fifth and final season of "Discovery" and is set to arrive in early 2024. Over the last seven and a half years, it's been a mixed bag to say the least. There were  inspired episodes ,  missed opportunities , truly  bizarre stories , some  blatant plagiarism  and even a nod  to Scooby-Doo . Despite some  very  good  standalone episodes, the show has however, steadily declined in story writing quality from the outset.

Will a strange anomaly threaten the entire galaxy? Will billions of lives be threatened? Will Starfleet and the crew of the USS Discovery have to unite and dig deep, facing their own mortality and risking their lives for the greater good ... again? Because that old chestnut is wearing a bit thin now.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

The mad-cap antics continue with season 4 of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" that begins streaming on September 7. If you like your "Star Trek" Loud and like a sugar rush, then this is definitely for you. Plus of course there's a reference to the awesome crossover with "Strange New Worlds," the biggest Trek crossover event in the "Trek" universe since DS9 met The Original Series in "Trials and Tribble-ations" (S05, E06).

All the regulars are returned, including Tawny Newsome (Ensign Beckett Mariner), Jack Quaid (Ensign Brad Boimler), Noël Wells (Ensign D'Vana Tendi), Jerry O'Connell (Commander Jack Ransom), Eugene Cordero (Ensign Samanthan Rutherford), Dawnn Lewis (Captain Carol Freeman) and more.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Fans were also treated to a sneak preview of a musical episode of "Strange New Worlds ," an in-universe out-of-genre event popularized by the episode "Once More With Feeling" (S06, E07) of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" back in November 2001. However, we're going to go out on a limb here and say that this might be one of the best episodes of 'Star Trek' ever made, or at the very least, it's in the top three.

"Strange New Worlds" is wrapping up its second season and while it's amazing that this show doesn't take itself too seriously — you know, like "Discovery" does — and it's happy to have a bit of fun very much in the vein of "The Original Series" — remember The Squire of Gothos" (S01, E07)? — it remains a curious decision to have quite so many fun episodes in a season so staggeringly short as just 10 episodes. Either the "Lower Decks" crossover or this musical escapade would've sufficed.

The annual Star Trek Las Vegas event is coming up very soon and so is New York Comic Con and without an end in sight to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, fans are going to suffer. Significantly less talent will be attending these events and even the guest stars will be severely limited in talking about "struck work" (a product which is produced by an employer during the period of a labor dispute with his employees). It's also highly likely that this year's Star Trek Day event will be impacted if not cancelled altogether.

"Strange New Worlds" and every episode of nearly every "Star Trek" show currently airing streams exclusively on Paramount Plus in the US. Internationally, the shows are available on Paramount Plus in Australia, Latin America, the UK and South Korea, as well as on Pluto TV in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland on the Pluto TV Sci-Fi channel. They also stream exclusively on Paramount Plus in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In Canada, they air on Bell Media's CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream on Crave.

'Star Trek: Picard' Season 2 Gets Limited Edition Steelbook Release

The 10 Forward experience first arrived in Los Angeles in conjunction with Star Trek: Picard Season 2's release which coincidentally also primarily was set in a Los Angeles, just a few years ahead of our current time. In the '80s and '90s series, Star Trek: The Next Generation , 10 Forward was the social lounge of the Enterprise where the crew ate, drank, and played classical musical instruments. However, in Picard , it's revealed that the Enterprise's 10 Forward wasn't the first iteration of the bar.

After the alien Q makes changes to the timeline, Picard ( Patrick Stewart ) must time travel to 2024 where the changes originated from to try to save the prime reality. Later, when the coordinates of a "watcher" who can help in Picard's mission are revealed, Picard is surprised to find the location of a hole in the wall bar called 10 Forward, as well as a much younger Guinan ( Ito Aghayere ). It's this set of inciting incidents that set up the premise for Picard 's second season and the unique 10 Forward experience. If Star Trek can't teleport us to Risa, at least we can go two years into the future.

SAN DIEGO, CA - JULY 21: People dressed in cosplay costumes near the San Diego Convention Center where Comic Con is being held on July 21, 2022 in San Diego, California. (Photo by Ariana Drehsler/Getty Images)

After a successful post-pandemic return in 2022, San Diego Comic-Con will hold a much quieter event for 2023, which runs from July 20-23. In June, with possibility of SAG-AFTRA joining the WGA on the picket lines — as well as the success of other focused fan events (like Star Wars Celebration and Tudum ) — several major players decided to sit out this year’s convention before the schedule had even been announced, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, HBO, Universal, Sony and Netflix. By the time SDCC announced the schedule in early July, Warner Bros. had also elected to be absent this year, despite upcoming DC projects like “Blue Beetle” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”

In turn, several anticipated panels have now been listed as canceled on the SDCC schedule. They include:

  • Legendary Entertainment’s Hall H panel. The company hadn’t announced which titles would be showcased, but Variety has confirmed Legendary planned to bring first looks of “Dune: Part Two” with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” with Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry.
  • ABC’s “Abbott Elementary”
  • Amazon Freevee’s “Jury Duty”
  • Amazon Prime Video’s “The Wheel of Time”
  • Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V”
  • AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” Season 2
  • “That ’70s Show” 25th Anniversary
  • Peacock’s “Twisted Metal,” replaced instead with a premiere of the first episode.

There are still some marquee panels that remain on the SDCC schedule, including for the “Star Trek” Universe on Paramount+, original animated series like Max’s “Harley Quinn” and Netflix’s “Masters of the Universe: Revolution,” AMC’s the “Walking Dead” Universe, and Paramount Pictures’ animated feature “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.”

See the Comic-Con schedule below — canceled panels remain listed in crossed out text . (All times Pacific Daylight.)
