* Not to be confused with the entire Archive Directory * This list will comprise the best sounding and/or most significant recordings from each tour. The purpose of this list is to make it easier for Rush fans who are less familiar with bootlegs to start experiencing the joy these recordings have to offer, without being initially exposed to unnecessary poorer quality or incomplete recordings, and perhaps ultimately turned away from these recordings due to a bad first impression. * WORK IN PROGRESS * I will be regularly updating and/or modifying this list as I'm chronologically uploading all known Rush recordings. -------------------------------------------------- Rush Tour: 18 March 1974 - 17 February 1975 1974-05-15 - Laura Secord Secondary School, St. Catharines, Ontario [Proshot] (only live recording, audio or video, featuring John Rutsey on drums) 1974-08-14 - Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (poor quality; but very important due to being the first live performance with Neil Peart) 1974-08-26 - Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio [SBD] (excellent quality; headlining setlist; quintessential recording from the debut tour) 1974-11-19 - Paramount Northwest Theatre, Seattle, Washington (features one of three known recordings of Fancy Dancer) 1974-11-28 - Whisky A Go Go, West Hollywood, California (features one of three known recordings Fancy Dancer) 1974-12-16 - Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio [SBD] (another quintessential recording of the tour, and features and early version of Fly By Night) 1974-12-22 - Electric Lady Studios, New York City, New York [SBD] (yet another excellent quality show, and another early recording of Fly By Night) -------------------------------------------------- Fly By Night Tour: 20 February 1975 - 26 September 1975 1975-03-11 - Roxy Theater, Northampton, Pennsylvania [SBD] (excellent quality, very early in the tour, but some FBN songs apparently weren't played live yet) 1975-04-07 - Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio [SBD] (probably the best known recording of the FBN tour, most FBN songs that were played live, were played during this show) 1975-06-25 - Massey Hall, Toronto, Ontario (only three recordings from the FBN tour are known, so this one stands as being important due to that, and probably the best setlst of the tour) -------------------------------------------------- Caress Of Steel Tour: 29 September 1975 - 8 March 1976 1975-11-15 - Rockford Armory, Rockford, Illinois (not the best quality, yet very important being one of only two recordings from the COS tour, and only of The Necromancer in full) 1976-03-05 - Randhurst Ice Arena, Mount Prospect, Illinois (only known live recording of I Think I'm Going Bald, and one of only two recordings from the COS tour) -------------------------------------------------- 2112 Tour: 15 March 1976 - 22 September 1976 1976-03-26 - Paramount Northwest Theatre, Seattle, Washington [SBD] (the earliest known recording of 2112, near immediately after the album was released) 1976-05-30 - Nelson Center, Springfield, Illinois [SBD] (along with the above, both soundboard recordings, and both full headline setlists) -------------------------------------------------- All The World's A Stage Tour: 28 September 1976 - 13 June 1977 1976-11-13 - Rockford Armory, Rockford, Illinois (earliest headline concert recording from the ATWAS era; one of three known recordings of The Twilight Zone) 1976-11-28 - Selland Arena, Fresno, California (not a headlining setlist, but one of the best sounding of the tour) 1976-12-10 - Capitol Theatre, Passaic, New Jersey [Proshot] (one of four publicly available pieces of proshot Rush footage from the 1970s) 1976-12-31 - Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario (one of three known recordings of The Twilight Zone; interesting intermission to welcome in the New Year) 1977-04-17 - Lisner Auditorium, Washington, D.C. (one of three known recordings of The Twilight Zone, better quality than the Toronto Dec 31 recording; possibly one of the best tapes from the tour) 1977-06-01 - Oval Hall of Sheffield City Hall, Sheffield, England (probably the best quality recording of a headlining ATWAS tour setlist) 1977-06-02 - Free Trade Hall, Manchester, England (another contender for best ATWAS headlining recording, though there are a few cuts) -------------------------------------------------- A Farewell To Kings Tour: 20 August 1977 - 28 May 1978 1977-08-23 - Exhibition Stadium, Toronto, Ontario 1977-09-29 - Warnors Theatre, Fresno, California 1977-12-10 - Hollywood Sportatorium, Hollywood, Florida 1978-02-14 - Newcastle City Hall, Newcastle, England 1978-02-17 - Tarrant County Convention Center, Fort Worth, Texas (the quintessential show of this tour due to being both complete and in excellent quality) 1980-02-13 - Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis, Missouri [SBD] (this is the most popular, and best sounding, however a good handful of songs are missing) -------------------------------------------------- Moving Pictures Warm-Up Tour: 11 September 1980 - So I've had this thread in my private forum for over a year now, hoping to eventually publish it in a more complete state, but I've finally decided to just make it publicly visible now and hopefully help the many people who have been asking me questions about best shows to start with. This list is very incomplete, which is why I've held it back for so long, but I will be editing it regularly as I post more shows, and I'll try to use my best judgement when considering which recordings to add to this list. For reference, I'm currently near the end of the Hemispheres tour in my chronological work-through. Anything on this list after that point (as of this writing), is subject to major changes, with shows being added or removed from the list. Also, as I've stated on my Directory page, any show I've previously uploaded before I started my chronological work-through (a sure sign of this is if I've yet to go back and separate the lossless audio and mp3 files into two separate downloads) is subject to possibly be replaced with a better quality version of that show. This again is due to my lack of having every circulating Rush recording available to me at that point in time. If anyone has any suggestions of what to add and/or remove from this list, please let me know. Any help with this list would be greatly appreciated! That also goes for shows I haven't yet uploaded. For example, if there's a really good R30 show that I haven't uploaded yet, please let me know and I may temporarily jump out of my chronological work-through just to get it available sooner. As always, feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions, etc about anything related to Rush recordings in general. I'm here to help.

Grace :)

Make sure for the MECCA Arena concert on the Grace Under Pressure Tour, you listen to the high-quality version in the comments. With proper equalization, it completely outshines the "Experience to Extremes" Version.

Honduran migrant arrested on felony charge in El Paso following Thursday’s border barrier rush

rush archives tour

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A migrant from Honduras is a facing felony charge following Thursday's incident where a large group of migrants ran towards the border and breached concertina wire fencing, according to Texas DPS.

A spokesperson for Texas DPS says 21-year-old Junior Evaristo-Benitez was arrested and is being charged with assault on a public servant, which is a 3rd degree felony.

DPS says the Honduran man was part of a group of migrants, mainly single males, that were from Venezuela.

Texas National Guard members were seen Thursday attempting to hold back that group of migrants as they breached the fencing.

Officials say the concertina wire fencing has since been repaired, and "law enforcement efforts in the area" have increased.

Evaristo-Benitez is currently being held in the El Paso County Jail.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This truly is a family affair.

With serious and complicated consequences.

Doug Wojcik is an assistant coach for Tom Izzo at Michigan State.

Paxson Wojcik is a graduate-student guard at North Carolina.

They are father and son.

Michigan State and North Carolina play each other in the NCAA Tournament second round Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. in the Spectrum Center for a cherished place in the Sweet 16 regional in Los Angeles.

So, you get the point: This is pretty unique and special.

“It’s going to be really fun and obviously really special … not many fathers and sons get a share March Madness together like this,’’ Paxson said Friday.

“It’s a father’s dream,’’ Doug Wojcik said Friday from inside the Spartans locker room. “First of all, he plays at North Carolina. And secondly, I coach at Michigan State. So, that in itself is a win-win.’’

This actually will be the second time Doug has coached against Paxson, who played for Brown last year before transferring to UNC for this, his final year of eligibility. Brown played at Michigan State last season and lost, 68-50, while Paxson scored 10 points and had 13 rebounds in the game.

Paxson Wojcik #8 of the North Carolina Tar Heels celebrates as Harrison Ingram #55 looks on against the Wagner Seahawks during the second half in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Spectrum Center.

“Playing at Michigan State last year as a senior at Brown was really cool, a great experience for me my family and I,’’ Paxson said. “But with what’s at stake in this tournament with the loser going home, obviously there’s more on the line. So, that definitely makes it harder.

“There definitely will be emotions involved. Just seeing him doing his thing coaching on the other sideline and him seeing me as an opposing player is definitely different from a normal game, so there’ll definitely be some emotions.’’

Asked if he has to avoid becoming too emotional, potentially trying to do too much in front of his father, Paxson indicated it might be the other way around.

“There’s a viral clip of him crying when the starting lineups came out [for the Brown game last season] that a lot of people saw, so I think he may have to control his emotions a little better than I do,’’ Paxson said.

Michigan State Spartans Assistant Coach Doug Wojcik looks on during the college basketball against Illinois.

It’ll certainly be most difficult for Paxon’s mom and Doug’s wife, Lael Wojcik, who’ll surely be torn, and for Paxson’s younger brother, Denham, who just finished his sophomore season as a guard on the Harvard hoops team.

“I think my wife will be rooting for the Heels and my other son will be rooting for the Spartans,’’ Doug said.

Paxson confirmed that intel.

“My mom, for sure, is going to have the toughest time, but my brother already texted me and said he’s rooting for Michigan State, so that was cold,’’ Paxson said.

Paxson Wojcik (8) drives in against Clemson forward Ian Schieffelin (4) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024.

“I think it’ll be a bunch of emotions, whether it’s excitement or nervousness,’’ UNC guard and leading scorer RJ Davis said. “I know if it was me and I was playing against my dad, I would be locked in. But if I had a corner 3-pointer near his bench, I would definitely turn around and talk some trash to my dad.’’

Paxson, who averages 8.3 minutes per game, had a 3-pointer and two rebounds in the Tar Heels’ 90-62 win over Wagner in Thursday night’s opening round . His father sat in the stands for the game — watching his son and scouting the Tar Heels, for whom he was an assistant coach from 2000-03.

“It’s gotta be a weird position for him to be in — trying to have a serious face on when he’s scouting, but also be watching your son,” Paxson said.

“It’ll be really cool in pregame and leading up to the game and after the game, years from now, talking about. But once that ball’s tipped, he’s on his sideline, I’m on mine and we’re just trying to win and it’s just another ballgame.’’

No, it’s not.

Paxson grew up around Michigan State while his father coached in his first stint there, and he was best friends with Izzo’s son, Steven, who’s a graduate-student guard on this Spartans team.

“We used to take them on recruiting trips,’’ Izzo recalled. “We’d beg the moms to let their son come to our place by using our kids at bait.’’

Izzo took the more pragmatic approach as it relates to Doug and Paxson meeting on opposite sides Saturday.

“We played Brown last year and that was an emotional time,’’ Izzo said. “How does it get any more emotional? I guess, if you look at it on the good side, [Doug] is going to LA either way — either with me or with Pax. So, I guess that’s the positive side of it for him.’’

Taylor Swift closes Singapore Eras Tour with country-themed mashup

rush archives tour

Taylor Swift is playing the National Stadium in Singapore for six nights on her only Southeast Asia tour stop on the Eras Tour. For the acoustic set, the star continued her 2024 trend of mashups for the guitar and piano.

"I kind of thought since this is the last show for awhile and this is the end of the leg for this tour and we've had such a wonderful time, I've been a little bit nostalgic," Swift said. "I thought maybe I should go back to the beginning."

For the final night in Singapore, Swift mashed up of "Tim McGraw" off her debut album with "Cowboy Like Me" from "Evermore" on the guitar and mixed "Mirrorball" and "Epiphany" from "Folklore" on the piano.

Night five includes 'False God' + 'Slut!'

"I just wanted this to be a surprise for every single show," Swift said with Travis Kelce in the crowd . "It keeps me on my toes. It keeps you on your toes."

She played one of her "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" hits, "Sparks Fly," with "Gold Rush" from "Evermore" on the guitar.

Before she dived into the stage, she combined "False God" from "Lover" with "Slut!" from "1989 (Taylor's Version)."

'Count to 10, take it in' on night four

"These songs are total surprises for everyone in the room except me," she laughed holding her guitar on night four.

First, Swift fused "Death By A Thousand Cuts" from "Lover" with "Babe" from "Red (Taylor's Version)." Before the bridge, she strummed and said, "Ready?" to the crowd and they went wild before singing "My heart, my hips..." with her.

On the piano, she melded "Fifteen" from "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" with "You're On Your Own Kid" from "Midnights."

Night three, 'call it what you want'

For night three, Swift combined "Foolish One" from "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" and "Tell Me Why" from "Fearless (Taylor's Version)" on the guitar and "This Love" from "1989 (Taylor's Version)" and "Call It What You Want" from "Reputation" on the piano.

"I'm trying to play things from lots of different eras," she said, "lots of different albums."

Story time for night two

On night two, Swift strummed a mashup of "Long Story Short" from "Evermore" and "The Story of Us" from "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" on the guitar.

Before she performed on the keys, Swift made a surprise announcement to the crowd regarding a fourth variant for her eleventh album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

"I kind of wanted to show you something that nobody else has seen," she said before showing the artwork. Then, she performed a mashup of "Clean" from "1989 (Taylor's Version)" and the title track from "Evermore" on the piano.

Two 'Reputation' songs for night one

"This has become my favorite part of the show," Swift said on Saturday, "because it's become just very chaotic and it's become a challenge for me to think of new things to do for every single city and just hope I'm doing something that you guys might like."

On night one, Swift blended "Mine" from "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" with "Starlight" from "Red (Taylor's Version)" on the guitar and performed a mashup of "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" from the "Fifty Shades Darker" movie soundtrack and "Dress" from "Reputation" on the piano.

Swift will perform for six nights in Singapore before taking a two-month break. Her next show is in Paris on May 9.
