In their three favorite rally cars, Hammond, Clarkson, and May race from the coasts of Norway to the Russian border

The Grand Tour will return on September 16, 2022, as the trio of James May, Richard Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson will tour snowy Scandinavia in three all-wheel-drive, rally-inspired cars.

According to Amazon Studios, the special will see Hammond , Clarkson, and May “at the wheel of their three favorite rally cars” embarking “on a catastrophe-filled adventure that takes in Cold War submarine bases, frozen lake racetracks, crashes, and ski resort chaos as they drag their homemade houses from the coast of Norway to the Russian border.”

Although the official challenge is to take their favorite rally car around the northernmost part of Europe, as May and Hammond point out, the Audi that Clarkson chose was built quite a few years after the brand’s rallying heyday .

Regardless, the Audi RS4 will take on a Subaru Impreza WRX STI and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII in a series of challenges that sees the cars towing skiers and cabins and racing through the snow.

In a trailer for the new special, May appears to be driving the yellow Mitsubishi Evo VIII, which apparently was the cause of some distress. As previously reported , while driving through a tunnel at a Norwegian naval base near Tromsø, he reportedly lost control of the car at 75 mph (121 km/h) and crashed into a rock wall.

Indeed, a shot near the end of the trailer appears to show the Mitsubishi sliding sideways into a wall in a tunnel at a particularly high rate of speed. May reportedly suffered at least one broken rib and an impact to the head that bloodied him. Fortunately, the host has been publishing videos on YouTube as recently as three weeks ago , suggesting that he suffered no lasting damage in the incident.

The episode will be titled The Grand Tour Presents: A Scandi Flick , a reference to the driving style made famous by Scandinavian rally drivers, who first turned away from a corner, then into it, in order to encourage a vehicle to rotate and slide through a slippery turn.

Le Grand Tour is geen koers, het is een jaarlijkse rally voor classic cars met modeljaar 1975 of vroeger. Een trip voor klasbakken, en het is ‘men only’. Graag nodigen we jou en je co-piloot weer uit voor een road trip op eigen tempo en zonder zorgen. Het logistieke regelen wij: vliegtuig, transport, logies, culinaire proeverijen... jij rijdt en je geniet. Waarom niet?

We landen in Gerona, waar je wagen op je wacht. We doorkruisen parels van streken en steden. We zien ze samen, eten samen, rijden samen. Of alleen. Je bent je eigen baas. En voor de fans: Le Grand Tour is ook een regelmatigheidsproef. Je mag elke dag meedingen naar de titel en wie weet pak je op het einde de trofee. Maar rijd je liever losjes mee, richt je blik dan op de einder en start cruising. Niks moet.

We landen op de set van Game of Thrones. Wie kan dát zeggen? Wij dus. Maar we hebben in Gerona natuurlijk vooral aandacht voor onze oogverblindende bolides die in het Spaans staan te blinken. We nemen prompt plaats en zonder te verpinken openen we de debatten: ignition on.

Laat je innerlijke berggeit los (als je copiloot akkoord gaat): het gaat van bij de start algauw bergop. We kronkelen door bossen en valleien richting een miniprinsdom dat heerlijk zacht genesteld ligt in de décolleté van grote zussen Spanje en Frankrijk. Hier lag vorig jaar rond deze tijd nog sneeuw. Andorra? J’adore.

Vámonos. Zeg maar adiós met het handje, vandaag laten we Spanje definitief achter ons. En waarom door de berg gaan als je erover kunt? We temmen el Pas de la Casa en bollen zo het land van Alain Prost binnen. Maar eerst gaan we... Weet je wat? Het is een verrassing. Op eenzame hoogte.Slapen doen we straks in Carcassonne, aan de voet van de Cité, een versterkt bolwerk met drie kilometer muur en 52 torens. On va dormir comme un caillou.

Klaar voor de langste rit? We cruisen langs de Méditerranée met links van ons de Haut-Languedoc en rechts van ons de Camargue. Schoonheid troef aan beide zijden.En pal voor ons: de Provençaalse pausenstad. Al ooit eens gedineerd onder een plataan die drie eeuwen telt? (Entre parenthèses: Wie danst vanavond op de pont?)

Onderweg van het Palais des Papes naar Le Vieux Port kom je niks dan grote Franse glorie tegen: Cavaillon, Saint-Rémy de Provence, de Lubéron, Aix-en-Provence... Het is een streek met adelbrieven.Tot slot wacht Hôtel Dieu, naast de pittoreske Vieux Port de Marseille, met een uniek zicht op de boven alles en iedereen uittorende basiliek Notre Dame de la Garde, engelbewaarder van de grootste havenstad van Frankrijk.Een betere plek bestaat niet om ons vijfde jubeljaar in stijl te vieren. Ce soir, on dîne comme des stars.

zondag 29 mei // marseille (fr) > toulon (fr)

C’est presque fini, mon kiki. Rest ons nog de verbindingsrit naar Toulon, een laatste keer genieten van de Franse keuken, en uiteraard een groot applaus voor de winnaars van de Regularity. We zijn vijf mooie dagen verder. Wevelgem wacht. De vlieger ook. Ignition off.

Private salons by day, they are transformed into comfortable bedrooms by night.

Do not confuse 'Le Grand Tour France' with similarly named rail tours of France using ordinary scheduled SNCF trains and packaged hotels.

Payment Schedule

25% non-refundable Deposit to reserve.

25% part-payment, no later than 180 days before departure.

50% balance*, no later than 90 days before departure.

Full payment* is required for reservations made 90 days or less.

Disabled Access

One Suite on Le Grand Tour France is adapted for wheelchair use. Le Grand Tour has a wheelchair adapted for use onboard, reserve on booking. It must not be taken off the train.

This Suite can be a Double Bed (140x190cm) or Twin Beds (70x190cm each). Please note: The Double Bed is accessible by the foot of the bed. Twin Bed - Le Grand Tour's own wheelchair fits between the beds.

All visits are wheelchair-accessible. However, these areas are not accessible: Reims Cathedral - the towers; Beaune Hospices, - the cellars, Annecy, - old town; Avignon Palais des Papes - higher areas; Alpilles - the walk. Passengers can either bring their own wheelchair for off-train use (stored in the train baggage car) or arrange the local hire.

One piece of cabin luggage per person in the Suite or Classic Cabin. Exceptionally, a bigger suitcase can be stored elsewhere on Le Grand Tour; accessible upon request to your butler.

Green hell tour 2024.

Le Green Hell Tour est le road-trip phare de la saison du MSE Drives. Depuis 4 ans, 40 équipages de passionnés prennent le volant de leurs supercars et GT pour venir se mesurer sur le mythique Nürburgring et sa Nordschleife ! Ce rallye touristique est sur un format week-end qui se déroule du Vendredi au Dimanche.

Le départ a lieu au Centre de reprogrammation Shiftech Paris Est à destination de l’Allemagne. Restant fidèle à l’esprit MSE Drives, le chemin pour nous y rendre est fait de petites routes où nos voitures de sport peuvent exprimer leur potentiel. Le roulage se fait en convoi permettant un vrai partage d’émotions et garantissant une ambiance unique.

MARNE-LA-VALLEE | LUXEMBOURG

Le départ GH24, notre 5e édition, sera donné au Centre Shiftech Paris Est.

Les participants sont attendus à partir de 09h30 pour nous retrouver autour d’un petit-déjeuner/brunch qui se terminera vers 12h.

Nous partirons ensuite en direction du Luxembourg où nous arriverons vers 17h. Après notre arrivée, un apéritif au garage Automotive Luxembourg  sera organisé.

LUXEMBOURG | NÜRBURGING

Le tracé de la grande étape du GH24, nous emmènera en Allemagne dans la région de l’Eifel. 250 km de petites routes vallonnées dans cette ancienne région volcanique. Nous arriverons à l’hôtel Lindner.

Nous partirons de là pour un GP de Kart.

Après le petit-déjeuner, nous nous rendrons au circuit pour tourner sur ce tracé mythique.
