Sam Fender has shared dates for an upcoming North American headline tour, which is set to kick off this July in Toronto.

The new round of shows comes after the announcement that Fender will be supporting select dates of Florence + The Machine’ s US tour, including a stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 16 .

The headline tour is also set to stop in New York City on August 9 and in Los Angeles on August 15. See the full list of dates below and view ticket details here .

He’s also set to play this year’s Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago and Quebec’s Osheaga festival.

The singer had previously teased the US tour announcement, posting a photo on social media of a ‘Seventeen Going Under’ billboard in the middle of the desert that read ‘on tour this summer’. He added an eye and American flag emoji as the caption.

Last week, Fender announced the details of an intimate charity show he’ll play in Newcastle next month . He’ll return to his native North East on May 24 for a special gig at O2 City Hall, marking the first time that he will have played live at the 2600-capacity venue.

The show will raise money for North East Homeless, who provide support to those who are vulnerable and homeless in the North East of England, as well as food and emergency equipment at street outreach sessions.

Sam Fender has announced details of a massive hometown show, which will take place at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park in 2023.

The North Shields singer-songwriter will add yet another huge achievement to the Seventeen Going Under era with his first stadium headline show at the home of Newcastle United on June 9, 2023.

The star follows in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan in headlining the venue and will be the first Geordie musician to hold their own gig at the 55,000-plus capacity space.

“Ever since I started this band, I always used to joke with the boys that one day we might play St. James’ Park in Newcastle,” Fender said in a press release. “It’s a childhood dream come true, and we’re actually gonna play it on the 9th June. This is literally gonna be the biggest show we’ve ever done – our first stadium show, which is so weird to say! I can’t wait, it’s gonna be absolutely lush and I hope to see yas all there.”

Inhaler and Holly Humberstone will provide support at the special gig, for which tickets will go on general sale at 10am on September 9. Fans can get access to a pre-sale by signing up to Fender’s mailing list before 5pm on September 6. The pre-sale will then begin at 10am on September 7. Fender’s second album Seventeen Going Under has seen the singer-songwriter take great leaps and become one of modern British music’s most beloved and brilliant young talents. This year saw him headline his first festivals in the UK and sell out his biggest gig so far at London’s Finsbury Park .

In March, his latest record earned him the title of Best Album In The World at the BandLab NME Awards 2022 , while it is also in the running for the 2022 Mercury Prize later this month.

The star will continue to tour in support of Seventeen Going Under this year with a series of US dates this month, including some supporting Florence + The Machine . In November, he will head to Australia for a handful of sold-out shows , with a second Sydney gig added last month.

Musician  Sam Fender has announced he will support Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band for two upcoming shows in Italy next year.

Newcastle-born artist Fender, who is often labelled as the “Geordie Springsteen”, shared the news today (28 November), writing in a post on Twitter: “I’m thinking about the moment [Springsteen’s] music first resonated with me when I was a teenager! Next year I’m opening up for him in Italy. What the fuck is going on?”

Springsteen will be touring Europe with The E Street Band next summer where Fender will play alongside him at the Parco Urbano G. Bassani in Ferrari on 18 May, and again at Rome’s Circo Massimo on 21 May.

The Dancing In The Dark  singer released his latest album , Only The Strong Survive  on the 11 November, which the artist described as “a collection of 15 soul greats”. You can watch his original announcement in the video below:

Fender, known for his massive hits Seventeen Going Under  and Howdon Aldi Death Queue , spoke about the comparison between him and Springsteen back in 2021 with NME . He said at the time,  “I can’t exactly bat off those comparisons, can I? At the same time, I don’t feel worthy of that tag,” he stated.

“The first time I heard it, I was like, ‘That’s fucking sick’, but you don’t want to be riding off the coattails of The Boss for the rest of your life. I can write my own songs, they’re different and my voice doesn’t sound anything like Springsteen’s. I don’t have his growl; I’m a little fairy when I sing.”

Back in October, John Mayer shared praise for Fender in a post on Instagram, where he said, “This guy keeps knocking me out”, with a screenshot of the Seventeen Going Under album artwork .

We asked the promoter to prepare a guide to help you navigate your way through any questions relating to the shows and ticket sales. We want to do everything we can to make sure that tickets only end up in the hands of genuine fans. 

How can I buy Tickets?

Sam Fender and the promoter are committed to combating unethical secondary ticketing and resale. 

For the 2023 SJP shows, we are operating a ‘’names-on-tickets’’ system to prevent unethical resale. 

Your tickets will be sent to you much nearer to the shows. 

So where should I buy my ‘’face value’’ tickets from?

All official ticket agent websites will be listed on tour advertising and at Samfender.com 

Only buy tickets from the authorised websites:

When will they go on general sale?

10am Friday 9th September.

How much are the ‘’face value’’ tickets?

The tickets are £57.50 and £47.50. All tickets are subject to a maximum 10 percent booking fee plus postage/transaction charges per order.

How do I arrange to buy tickets for someone requiring disabled access?

Persons requiring accessible seating, wheelchair bays or walking ambulant seats should contact the Club directly on 0344 372 1892 (option 1) to purchase Tickets.  

Proof of disability (that is, statement of medium or high rate DLA for care / mobility, enhanced PIP for care / mobility along with further eligibility found at  https://www.nufc.co.uk/fans/info-for-disabled-fans/ ) will be required and any Tickets purchased will be placed on hold for 3 (three) working days whilst the Club awaits such proof. 

If the proof is not received by the end of this period, the Tickets will be released for sale and the Ticket holder will be issued with a refund. 

Proof of disability can be sent to  [email protected]   or posted to: Newcastle United Football Company Limited, St. James Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE1 4ST FAO: The Box Office.

What is unethical secondary ticketing and ticket resale?

Unethical secondary ticketing is when people buy tickets at face value and then re-sell them at inflated prices via non-artist approved methods and websites, thus denying real fans the chance to buy at face value. 

Ticket touts and unauthorised resellers use multiple payment cards, false identities and sophisticated computer programmes (‘bots’) to buy up large amounts of tickets which they then offer for resale at highly-inflated prices. 

How many tickets can I buy?

There will be a strict limit of 4 standing or 6 seated tickets per show date per transaction. This restriction is in place in order to give as many people as possible a fair chance to buy tickets. The whole party must arrive at the same time as the lead booker who bought the tickets. 

PLEASE NOTE that any and all transactions that are detected as bot purchases, patrons creating duplicate accounts in order to purchase more than the ticket limit or any action that indicates a suspicious purchase in excess of the ticket limit, will be cancelled.

But we want to go as a bigger group/family?

You will have to try to complete another order.

Can I buy tickets as a gift?  

The matching ID of the surname of the lead booker will be an entry requirement, the other tickets bought by that person can be used for other people if they ALL arrive with the lead booker.  If you want to buy as gifts, then you’ll also have to attend to get your recipients into the show. 

What are the entry requirements?

Lead bookers may be required to produce email booking confirmation and a valid form of photo ID that matches the name on the confirmation.

Accepted forms of Photo ID are – A current driver’s licence (including provisional licence), a current or recently expired passport (provided the picture is a good resemblance of the holder) or the government backed PASS scheme  http://www.pass-scheme.org.uk/

What are the age restrictions?

All venue age restrictions are clearly displayed at the sales pages on the ticket agent websites. 

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult

No under 14’s on the pitch.

  I can’t find my confirmation email?

In the first instance please check your junk or spam folder. If that doesn’t work, contact the customer services of the ticket agent you booked through. If you are unsure which company you bought from, this information is usually displayed on your credit card statement or bank statement. 

I can’t go any more and need to sell on my ticket. What do I do?

The reselling of any Sam Fender ticket is strictly forbidden other than through the official face value resale platform of your original point of purchase or via Twickets. Any Sam Fender ticket offered for resale elsewhere, either on or offline (including Viagogo or any other unauthorised source including all secondary ticket retail websites), will result in the entire original booking being cancelled. The original purchaser and their party will be refused admission and any other purchases they hold will also be cancelled.

When will we receive our tickets?

They’ll be sent to you nearer to the time of the shows. 

Are cameras allowed?

Professional cameras (deemed as cameras with removable lenses), video and recording equipment are strictly forbidden. Personal use cameras and smart-phone cameras are fine. 

How early should we turn up?

Please check ticket agent websites for door opening times and do allow yourself plenty of time to get in before the start of the show. 

I can’t get in with my tickets, it failed to scan and I’ve been turned away at the turnstile?

Don’t worry, we can try and help you. In the first instance head to the box office where someone will be able to help you work out what’s gone wrong. Remember DO NOT buy a ticket from someone you don’t know either in person on the street OR from an unauthorised secondary ticket website.

Recently the government has strengthened legislation designed to protect consumers, notably the Consumer Rights Act and the Digital Economy Bill. We are working with National Trading Standards and the Police Action Fraud Division to report all breaches of these acts as well as reporting any illegally advertised tickets to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Sam Fender confirms release of third album next year and launches special pre-orders

The geordie hero will play two huge homecoming shows at st james' park this weekend..

As Sam Fender gears up to play two huge homecoming shows at Newcastle’s St James Park this weekend, he’s confirmed that his anticipated third album will arrive next year.

The first show of Fender’s two-night residency will kick off at the Newcastle stadium tonight (June 9) and will see him flanked by a support bill of Hector Gannet, Holly Humberstone and Inhaler for the biggest gigs of his career. A second show will take place tomorrow.

Now, Fender has revealed that fans luckily enough to be at those shows can pre-order commemorative St James’ Park picture discs of his upcoming third album – which will arrive next year.

Two different picture discs will be offered (for each night of the show) and they will feature photos from the upcoming shows.

Both of the picture disks are available on Fender’s online store here , but will only be on offer to fans for one week — with sales ending at 6pm next Saturday (June 17).

Fender had previously teased the record with a series of mysterious QR codes on billboards across Newcastle, which eventually revealed themselves to be a link to the pre-order this morning.

Speaking to Rolling Stone UK about the shows last year, Fender said: “To play St James’ Park has kinda always been a bit of a daft joke, ever since we started the band five years ago. I’ve always said ‘Imagine if we could play St James! That would be something else’. We came to the point where my manager said it’s happening and I was just like ‘oh my god!’ It’s fucking mind-boggling.”

When asked if new music could be on the horizon, he added: “Potentially! I’ve been writing loads and we’re all gonna focus and start working on something. There might be a new single out by that point. You never really know when that stuff is gonna coming around until you get into the bulk of it, and we haven’t got into the bulk of the third record just yet. There usually tends to be a main idea that we run with and I’ve got that, but nothing much. I’ve got 20 songs written, so we can work from there.”
