Tata Motors  is offering attractive benefits and discounts this month on the Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Harrier and Safari, applicable on both MY2023 and MY2024 models. Customers can avail of cash discounts, corporate benefits and exchange bonuses. Let’s take a closer look.

Tata Safari

Discounts of up to Rs 1.33 lakh

Unsold MY2023 stocks of the pre-facelift  Safari  are available with benefits of up to Rs 1.33 lakh this month. These include a cash discount of Rs 75,000, up to Rs 50,000 exchange or scrappage bonus and up to Rs 8,000 as corporate benefits. Meanwhile, the facelifted MY2023 models get up to Rs 88,000 off, which is inclusive of Rs 50,000 cash discount, an exchange bonus of Rs 30,000 and a corporate bonus of Rs 8,000. Lastly, MY2024 models of the Safari only get an exchange bonus of Rs 30,000 and corporate benefits of Rs 8,000.

The Safari combines solid underpinnings with great road presence and the practicality of seven seats. It rivals the Hyundai Alcazar ,  MG Hector Plus  and  Mahindra XUV700 .

Tata Harrier

The  Harrier , too, receives benefits of up Rs 1.33 lakh on unsold MY2023 pre-facelift stocks, while the facelifted MY2023 models get up to Rs 88,000 off. The benefits are similar to the Tata Safari for both pre-facelift and facelifted models. Meanwhile, MY2024 versions of the Harrier get benefits of up to Rs 38,000, including an exchange bonus of Rs 30,000 and corporate benefits of Rs 8,000.

Like the Safari, the Harrier scores high on road presence and interior space, and is well-built with a fantastic ride and handling balance. It rivals the 5-seater  Mahindra XUV700 ,  MG Hector  and  Jeep Compass .

Discounts of up to Rs 90,000

The  Tiago  petrol gets benefits of up to Rs 90,000 on MY23 models, which include Rs 65,000 cash discount, up to Rs 20,000 exchange or scrappage bonus and a Rs 5,000 corporate benefit. Meanwhile, the MY2024 units have a considerably lower cash discount of Rs 35,000. The CNG variants of the Tiago also receive benefits of up to Rs 85,000 and Rs 50,000 for MY2023 and MY2024 models, respectively.

The Tiago impresses with its well-specced cabin and attractive price, but is let down by its engine. It rivals the  Maruti Suzuki Swift  and  Hyundai Grand i10 Nios .

Discounts of up to Rs 85,000

MY2023 units of the  Tigor  are available with benefits of up to Rs 85,000 for both petrol and CNG variants, which includes a cash discount of up to Rs 60,000, an exchange bonus of Rs 20,000 and corporate benefits of Rs 5,000. Meanwhile, MY2024 models have a much lower cash discount of Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000 for petrol and CNG, respectively. Adding exchange bonus and corporate benefits, total discounts available on MY24 models include up to Rs 55,000 for petrol and up to Rs 50,000 for CNG.

The Tigor is based on the Tiago, and shares its underpinnings and powertrain with the hatchback. It is a friendly city commuter that’s good value for money and rivals the  Honda Amaze ,  Maruti Suzuki Dzire  and the  Hyundai Aura .

The  Nexon  petrol is available with benefits of up to Rs 90,000, which is inclusive of a cash discount of Rs 55,000 and an exchange bonus of Rs 35,000. The diesel variants, meanwhile, get up to Rs 40,000 in cash discount and Rs 35,000 as exchange benefits. These offers are, however, applicable only on the pre-facelift MY2023 units.

The Nexon features premium interiors, and provides comfortable ride and handling on the highway. It rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza ,  Kia Sonet   and the  Hyundai Venue . 

Tata Altroz

Discounts of up to Rs 70,000

The  Altroz  is available with discounts of up to Rs 70,000 for MY2023 units of its petrol and diesel variants, which includes Rs 45,000 cash discount, Rs 20,000 exchange bonus and Rs 5,000 corporate benefits. MY2024 units, meanwhile, only get up to Rs 25,000 cash discount on both petrol and diesel variants. Lastly, the CNG variants of the Altroz are available with benefits of up to Rs 55,000 and Rs 35,000 for MY2023 and MY2024 models, respectively.

The Altroz stands out with its impressive ride and handling, stylish exterior design, and feel-good interiors. However, its powertrains leave you wanting for more. It competes with the  Maruti Suzuki Baleno ,  Hyundai i20  and the  Toyota Glanza .

Latest Update : Tata had showcased the red dark edition of the Safari at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024. We expect the Indian car maker to launch the Safari as well as Harrier red dark edition in the coming months. Presently you can buy the dark edition of both the SUVs.

Key Highlights

Exterior & Design

Safari is currently the flagship model of Tata Motors. With the recent facelift, Tata has made the Safari even more distinguishable from Harrier. In the front, compared to the Harrier, the Safari comes with a thicker headlamp assembly with Safari badging embedded between the headlamp and fog lamp, a silver skid plate and a blacked out lower air dam.

In the rear, the connected full width taillamps of the Safari are a bit different from the Harrier. The rear too gets a silver skid plate. From the side profile, the Safari comes with 19 inch alloys in the top end trim and embedded Safari badging on the chrome part of the roof rail.

Interior & Features

Inside the cabin, the Safari gets all the features that the Harrier offers. Some of those are dual zone auto AC, front ventilated seats, power adjust driver seat, 10.25 inch fully digital drivers display, 12.29 inch touchscreen infotainment, multi colour ambient lighting, wireless charger, wireless android auto/apple car play, 10 speaker JBL audio system, electric parking brake with auto hold, Alexa support, 360 degree camera, powered tailgate with gesture operation, panoramic sunroof, rear window sunshades, etc.

In addition to the above mentioned features which are common between the Safari and Harrier, the Safari also offers ventilated rear captain seats, power adjust co driver seat, boss mode for co driver seat, ambient lighting on sunroof, 3 row seating, etc.

On the safety front, it offers active safety tech like level 2 ADAS with 1 camera + 3 radar configuration. It also, comes equipped with advanced ESP, traction control, hill hold, hill descent control, TPMS, all wheel disc brakes, roll over mitigation, brake disc wiping, etc. For passive safety, it offers up to 7 airbags and ISOFIX mounts.

Engine & Transmission

Tata Safari is only available in a single engine option i.e. a 2 litre Kryotec turbo diesel engine. It can be paired to either a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 6 speed torque converter automatic. The fiat sourced engine generates 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque.

Variants & Colours

Tata Safari is available in 7 different colours including a black/dark edition. Also, Tata offers 15 different variants of the Safari.

Being a premium 3 row SUV, the main rivals of Tata Safari are Mahindra XUV700 and Toyota Innova Hycross .

Tata Motors has announced a new ‘King of SUVs’ festival under which the automaker is offering special prices and discounts across its range of SUVs. It is to be noted that all the celebratory offers are valid for bookings made up to 31 July.

The Tata Harrier and the Safari, the flagship offerings from the brand, are available with reduced prices applicable with immediate effect. The Harrier and the Safari can now be had at a starting price tag of Rs. 14.99 lakh and Rs. 15.49 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), respectively. This effectively means that both cars are now affordable by Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 70,000, respectively.

Additionally, both, the Safari and the Harrier are now available with discounts of up to Rs. 1.4 lakh, applicable to select popular variants. Simultaneously, the Nexon EV gets a discount of up to Rs. 1.3 lakh, while the Punch is offered with benefits of up to Rs. 30,000.

The Tata Safari (ex-showroom Delhi: Rs 15.65 lakh to Rs 25.01 lakh) offers six variants: XE, XM, XMS, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. Special editions like the 'Dark' and 'Red Dark' are also available. You can configure it with either 6 or 7 seats. It features a 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) and comes with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

On the other hand, the Tata Harrier (ex-showroom Delhi: Rs 15 lakh to Rs 24.07 lakh) comes in six variants: XE, XM, XMS, XT+, XZ, and XZ+. Exclusive special editions like the 'Dark' and 'Red Dark' are offered on the top trim. With seating for up to five occupants, it offers a spacious interior. Sharing the same 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm) with the Safari, the Harrier can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter.
