Erykah Badu has announced a tour of North America: The Unfollow Me Tour kicks off in June and features support from Yasiin Bey . See the tour dates below.

The Unfollow Me Tour, produced by Outback Presents , begins in San Antonio, Texas, and includes stops in New York, Denver, Boston, and more. The trek is currently slated to wrap up on Sunday, July 23, in Badu’s hometown of Dallas.

Badu most recently released But You Caint Use My Phone in 2015. Late last year, she featured on RM’s “ Yun .”

A holy union is hitting the road this summer, with Erykah Badu linking up with Yasiin Bey, a.k.a. Mos Def on a 25-city U.S tour.

The ‘Unfollow Me Tour’ kicks off on June 11th at San Antonio’s AT&T Center before continuing on to stops in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles and then wrapping up on July 23 at the American Airlines Center in Badu’s hometown of Dallas, Texas.

Badu will also be performing at London’s All Points East festival this August, alongside Stormzy, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Jungle.

Tickets will officially go on sale this Thursday, April 20th at 2:22 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster, but fans can get exclusive access to pre-sale tickets by signing up for the AT&T Center’s All Access Newsletter.

Along with Badu and Bey, the tour announcement also promises “more extraordinary guests”

The “high priestess of neo-soul” has played a smattering of theater and festival dates in recent years but hasn’t launched a full fledge tour since 2018.

More recently, Badu reunited with The Roots on their new track “Misunderstood” featuring fellow Philadelphian Tierra Whack, and made a surprise appearance on BTS’ member RM’s song “Yun,” which opened his critically acclaimed solo effort Indigo .

And speaking of The Roots, former Black Star member Bey will appear on Black Thought’s forthcoming solo record, Streams of Thought Vol. 4 .

The MC shared that the track will “represent a seismic shift in the game,” and has apparently been sitting on the track for a few years.

Erykah Badu reveals 2023 summer tour dates

The legendary soul singer is going on a 25-stop arena tour with yasiin bey..

Erykah Badu has announced the dates for her "Unfollow Me" tour with direct support from Black Star member Yasiin Bey f.k.a. Mos Def. Starting on June 11 in San Antonio, Texas, and ending on July 23 in her hometown of Dallas, the soul star is playing 25 dates in arenas across the country. She'll also be appearing in London's All Points East festival in August.

The last time Badu toured , she performed at several theaters across the United States in 2021. Tickets for this summer's "Unfollow Me" tour will be available on the official website on April 20 at 2:22 pm local.

Just Announced – The Killers, Erykah Badu, LANY and More Add Denver Dates

We’re only midway through 2021 but already there’s a ton of concert announcements setting the stage for a blowout of this year and a power-packed one to follow.  Several heavy hitters have announced some long waited tours that happen to include Denver stops. The Killers, Erykah Badu, LANY, The War On Drugs and Tones and I are all heading to Denver in the very near future. 

First and foremost, arena rock band,   The Killers are due to hit Ball Arena on August 31, 2022. The forthcoming date arrives in support of the band’s latest effort, Imploding the Mirage , an album the band never got to tour behind as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the group has announced a surprise follow-up entitled, Pressure Machine which will also be promoted on the forthcoming tour. This will be the band’s first stop in Denver since 2018.

The ever-fluid and mystical mother herself, Erykah Badu will be heading out on a rare tour, stopping through Mission Ballroom on October 18, 2021. While the forthcoming tour sees the songstress playing festivals and auditorium shows on select dates across the country, it does not appear that it will be in the promotion of new material. However, with a discography as rich and personal as Badu’s, does she even need to? Regardless, the last time Badu came through Denver was for a one-off Valentine’s Day show in 2016, so her forthcoming appearance is long overdue, and in true Badu fashion, it should be well worth the wait.

Elsewhere, pop band, LANY will cruise into Mission Ballroom on November 15 on the heels of their latest project, momma’s boy (2021) . Indie rock outfit, The War on Drugs, has ended a brief hiatus as they prep the follow-up to 2017’s A Deeper Understanding with plans to hit Mission Ballroom on February 18, 2022 . Last but not least, Tones and I, the singer behind the massively popular hit, “ Dance Monkey” is slated to hit the Ogden Theatre on March 5, 2022. 

Tickets for Erykah Badu, The Killers , Tones and I and The War on Drugs go on sale this Friday, July 23 at 10 a.m. Tickets to LANY go on sale Friday, July 23 at 9 a.m. via AXS with the exception of the Killers, which can be found on Ticketmaster.

The “Unfollow Me Tour” launches on June 11th in San Antonio, Texas, with further dates scheduled in San Diego, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Boston, New York, Atlanta, and beyond.

Erykah Badu Announces Tour With Yasiin Bey [Video]

Erykah Badu is going on tour this summer with special guest  Yasiin Bey . The collaboration between the singer-songwriter and the wordsmith also known as  Mos Def  will play throughout the U.S. in June and July with a lone U.K. date.

The tour kicks off on June 11th in San Antonia, TX and includes stops at arenas in Las Vegas, L.A., Denver, Chicago, New York City, Atlanta, and more before the finale in London on August 26th. The outing will mark Badu’s first full-scale tour since 2021 and Bey’s first since prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Denver concertgoers and promoters decry rising costs of attending and organizing events

Word of the potential of a Justice Department antitrust lawsuit against the country's largest concert promoter Live Nation and its parent company Ticketmaster  has people talking about the fees that irritate them and the price of tickets that have become more prohibitive.

If you've been to a concert or even a major sporting event in Denver, the odds are good that you've dealt with Live Nation or Ticketmaster.

"There are so many people that have to sacrifice either a weekend away or a concert. And that's crazy to either think of a trip costs as much as it does to go to a concert," said Kevin McConnell, who was visiting Red Rocks on Tuesday. "The fees are just crazy. Everything nowadays is just nuts," said Mark Sutherburg of Lone Tree. He used to go to a handful of shows per year. Now it's down to one.

In Colorado, there is a decline in attendance for some performances, while others are doing well. There has for sure been a shift. In 2021 at the Levitt Pavilion in Ruby Hill Park, there was a rise as the pandemic ebbed.

"Things have definitely plateaued if not kind of gone down a little bit," said Andrew Thomas, who is deputy director for the Levitt Pavilion. The pandemic was hard. "What we lost in the pandemic was community. People weren't around people. That's sad."

But re-establishing culture is hard as well. Costs are rising and that proves challenging for the nonprofit efforts at the pavilion; that means 40 to 50 free shows a year.

"Things are expensive," Thomas said. "Music's expensive. Gas is expensive. Alcohol is expensive. All of these things that you attribute to tour musicians or to concerts have kind of made it so some of those costs are passed onto to the consumer. So it's tricky right now."

For some fans, it has meant fewer performances.

"I decided not to go to see Beyoncé because it was like a million dollars to get there," said Sonia Thomas, a music fan visiting Red Rocks who's not related to Andrew. Her daughter paid $950 for that show, she said.

"I love NBA basketball. It's really expensive to see the Nuggets now," said Andrew Thomas.

But years in the music business have taught him things about costs.

"It costs money to rent a sound system. It costs money to put up a fence. It costs money to rent the portalets and all those things continue to increase," he said.

The fees are off-putting.

"As a consumer, they're very frustrating," he continued. "So when I have to go buy a concert ticket, I get frustrated with fees too. As someone who's in the industry, I know those fees all go towards something, so venues take fees. Promoters take fees. Bands take most of the ticket price that you're paying."

But with inflation, people are making hard choices. The fear for arts organizations is that people may set aside the culture that binds us. Mark Sutherburg tells his family that might be the deciding factor.

"And I always tell them, 'you've got to prioritize.' And I've always told them 'the bills come first and whatever is extra is whatever is extra,'" he said.

It brings up worries about access to culture.

"It's the reason why people come to cities. You know, it's the culture," said Andrew Thomas. "And the culture is made up of things like music and museums and all these things. So it's a reason why people end up in all these places. So I don't want to live in a city that doesn't have culture."
