Formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, US, Firehouse are a glam metal band that came into popularity in the late 80s and early 90s, taking their cues from the likes of Bon Jovi, Poison and Def Leppard.

Clad in leather and with long permed hair, FireHouse were the quintessential glam metal band, arriving towards the tail end of the scene that came into popularity in the 80s. Having developed their sound and cemented their lineup, the band caught the attention of Epic Records in 1989, who signed them to their label for their debut release. Released in 1990, their self-titled debut found significant critical acclaim, beating the likes of Nirvana and Alice in Chains to the title of 'Best New Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band' at the American Music Awards in 1991. The album was a huge success, selling over two million copies and was certified double-Platinum. With several high-charting singles, the band also managed to make waves in the Canadian, Singaporean and Japanese charts, with the album certified Gold in these countries.

They followed their debut with 1992's "Hold Your Fire," which whilst not as successful, it still managed to be certified Gold, helped by the top ten hit single, the rock ballad, "When I Look Into Your Eyes." Their third album, "FireHouse 3" was released in 1995, featuring the top 20 ballad, "I Live My Life For You." However, with changing tastes moving towards the grunge/alternative rock scene, FireHouse's popularity began to wane as the decade went on, being unable match the heights of their debut. They continued to release albums moving to a more middle-of-the-road sound, such as the band Boston, finding interest on the adult contemporary radio.

They released five further albums to limited success, as well as the "Bring 'Em Out Live" CD/DVD in 1999, recorded in Japan. Despite not finding much success in their home country, FireHouse have enjoyed continuing popularity in a number of Asian countries, with their album sales remaining consistently high and their live performances popular. In India, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and many other countries, FireHouse have found legions of fans and have embarked on extensive tours in this region.

Live reviews

North Carolina band Firehouse remain champions of a fast fading genre, glam metal. There is very little theatrics involved in metal these days and the large hair and bizarre outfits that worked in their 90s heydays have diminished leaving the band to evolve with the times.

The new music is notably more reserved with less emphasis on the glamour and the face decorations of time past although there is a nice eccentricity still present in the live show. Three out of four musicians onstage have been present since the very beginning and this helps out hugely when it comes to live performance as there is an unspoken rapport and great consistency to the show. They do not deny the popularity of their very first album playing a good chunk of its tracks including 'All She Wrote' 'Shake & Tumble' and finishing on the gargantuan 'Don't Treat Me Bad'. It is an evocative and energetic live show with that ever present emphasis on not taking things too seriously and allowing the music to speak for itself.

I want my money back!!! I was extremely disappointed when I saw that the group on stage was not Firehouse, it was “Firehouse the band”, a whole different band with no music relation at all from the 80’s hard rock band I was advertised I was going to see. It was a waste of time and money and my wife was not happy either which it made it worse.

If you are a decent and respectful music connection platform please help me recover my $58.70 or at least $50 I spent on these tickets or you will lose one eager so far disappointed follower.

Firehouse is another great band from the 90's hair band era. They had several top 40 hits such as "Don't Treat Me Bad", "Love of a Lifetime", "All She Wrote", and "When I Look Into Your Eyes".

They have only gotten better with age. They connect with their crowd and bring you right into the show with them. Just after the first few songs, they will have you dancing, singing and screaming for more.

They are definitely worth checking out and they will not disappoint you. Every time I have been to one of their shows, a good time was had by all.

Seen Firehouse in Herrin Illinois they were awesome sounded just like I remembered from my teenage days when we listened to them over and over again between all 4 of the bands that played they were my 2nd favorite there right after Tom Keifer, but even 2nd I would love to see them again because they rocked that show!

FireHouse Singer C.J. Snare Dead at 64

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

C.J. Snare, founding singer of the long-running hair metal band FireHouse , has died at the age of 64.

The group — which scored Hot 100 hits in the early Nineties with the singles “Love of a Lifetime” and “When I Look Into Your Eyes” — revealed Snare’s death Sunday on social media .

“Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll,” the surviving members wrote. “It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of Firehouse. CJ snare passed unexpectedly at home Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was a young 64 years old.”

No cause of death was provided, but Snare’s death came six months after Snare revealed he would undergo abdominal surgery; the band initially postponed their gigs but recruited a fill-in singer while Snare recovered.

“As you are all aware, CJ was expected to be back on stage with the band this summer after recovering from surgery,” FireHouse added in their statement. “We are all in complete shock with CJ’s untimely passing. CJ was was arguably one of the best vocal talents of a generation, touring the world with Firehouse non stop the past 34 years.”

Dream theater on emotional mike portnoy reunion, first 40th anniversary tour dates, the far right is crawling with eclipse conspiracy theories.

Although the band’s second album — 1992’s Hold Your Fire — arrived amid the outbreak of grunge and alternative rock, FireHouse remained relevant while many of their brethren washed out, placing a pair of singles onto the Hot 100 with the LP’s “Reach for the Sky” and “When I Look Into Your Eyes,” which peaked at Number 8 to become their biggest hit charts-wise.

While FireHouse did not release an album of new music following 2003’s Prime Time , the band remained active up through Snare’s surgery. “‘Reach for the Sky’ CJ! You will be forever missed by family, friends, fans and your band mates,” Snare’s band mates added. “You’re singing with the angels now.”

C.J. Snare , the lead singer and keyboardist of hard rock band FireHouse , which had two Top 10 singles in the early 1990s, has died at 64.

Snare’s daughter said her father died on Friday after a lengthy cancer battle, with the official cause of death listed as cardiac arrest.

FireHouse had seven singles chart on the Billboard Hot 100, most notably Love of a Lifetime, which reached No. 5 in 1991, and When I Look Into Your Eyes , which hit No. 8 in 1992.

Snare was a founder of FireHouse in 1987, and stayed with the band for nearly 40 years until his death.

Firehouse's C.J. Snare dead at 64

He will be missed.

Nathanael Fakes

C.J. Snare in the heavens.

Singer of the rock band Firehouse, C.J. Snare, has passed away at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer .

TMZ reported that he died Friday afternoon and that he was battling cancer. His daughter Heaver confirmed the news, and cardiac arrest was the official cause of death.

Along with being the singer, Snare was a founding band member. He helped assemble the band in 1987 after his group, Maxx Warrior, disbanded.

Firehouse posts about C.J. Snare's death

The band wrote on their official Facebook page: “It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and founding member of Firehouse. CJ Snare passed unexpectedly at home Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was a young 64 years old.”

It continued: “As you are all aware, CJ was expected to be back on stage with the band this summer after recovering from surgery. We are all in complete shock with CJ's untimely passing.”

The band added, “CJ was arguably one of the best vocal talents of a generation, touring the world with Firehouse nonstop for the past 34 years. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Snare family, Katherine Little, friends, and all our beloved fans all over the world. Reach for the Sky, CJ! You will be forever missed by family, friends, fans, and your bandmates. You're singing with the angels now.”

Snare sang and played keyboards on all seven of the band's albums. Their self-titled debut LP went double platinum in the U.S. He wrote for the hits Don't Treat Me Bad, Love of a Lifetime, and When I Look Into Your Eyes.

Surviving band members include guitarist Bill Leverty and drummer Michael Foster.

Ultimate Classic Rock reports that Night Ranger's Jack Blades wrote, “Just heartsick with the news our rock n roll brother CJ Snare's passing. Many wonderful memories of NR and Firehouse playing together. CJ's sweet soul & great smile always brightened up the day no matter what was happening.”

According to the band's website , Firehouse is set to perform on April 13th in Greeneville, TN. They're set to travel to Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, and New York. It's unclear if they'll continue with their tour with the devastating news of Snare passing.

Last FM states that in December 2004, “Firehouse became the first major international rock band to play concert dates in northeast India.” They had a “sold-out stadium crowd of over 40,000.”

Some of their albums beyond their self-titled 1990 debut include Hold Your Fire (1992), 3 (1995), Good Acoustics (1996), Category 5 (1998), Bring ‘Em Out Live (1999), o2 (2000), and Prime Time (2003).

They have 16 Gold & Platinum records, 7 million sales worldwide, 2 Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 Hits, 4 Billboard Hot 100 Top 25 Hits, and they won the American Music Awards 1991 Best New Hard Rock Heavy Metal Band.

Get your raving shoes on – Scooter are back with a massive comeback tour hitting venues across the UK.

The German techno band – made up of H. P. Baxxter, Marc Blou, Jay Frog, and Jens Thele – are embarking on their 30th-anniversary tour later this year with shows in London , Manchester , Birmingham , Newcastle, Dublin, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Cardiff.

It comes more than 20 years after the release of their smash hit single The Logical Song, originally by Supertramp, which reached number 2 in the UK Singles Charts.

Tickets for the shows go on pre-sale on Wednesday, April 10, at 10am, followed by general sale on Friday, April 12 also at 10am.

The tour coincides with the release of the band’s milestone 21st studio album Open Your Mind and Your Trousers, including singles Rechno is Back, Rave & Shout, Waste Your Youth, and For Those About To Rave.

Scooter kicked off the mammoth tour in Germany last month, with it continuing through Europe until the group arrive on UK shores in October and November.

The four-piece formed in 1993 and has sold a whopping 30 million records to date, earning more than 80 gold and platinum music awards/

They have landed 23 top ten hits, and are considered the most commercially successful German single-record act.

Scooter have produced several well-known singles across the world, including Hyper Hyper, How Much Is the Fish?, Maria, Jumping Over The World, and The Question Is What Is the Question?.

They released The Logical Song in 2001, which became the band’s highest-charting single of their career and was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

It was the 15th best-selling single of 2002 and was one of the anthems synonymous with rave culture in the 2000s.

Scooter’s music – especially their wacky lyrics that have experienced plenty of praise on TikTok – as well as their wild outfits, Baxxter’s luminous bleach blonde hair, and pyrotechnic-filled performances have seen them become household names across the globe.

‘I’ve always loved bands with strong stage presence. When I was a teenager listening to hard rock, I loved Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore, who destroyed his guitar at every concert.

‘Even then, I knew it was a staged part of the show, but that didn’t diminish the excitement I felt when he smashed it. When I think about the pyrotechnics we used on the first tours, compared to today’s explosive shows, I just smile.’

Speaking about their legendary live shows, he continued: ‘At one point we were spending more on pyrotechnics than we could make in tickets, but we could afford it because the shows were selling massive amounts of records.

‘Every single we put out went gold or platinum, and then all of a sudden, albums started selling. Of course, this has completely changed, but fortunately, pyrotechnics have also become cheaper and we don’t have to dwell on it.’
