Insider knowledge

Myidtravel help, frequently asked myidtravel support questions, what is myidtravel.

  • How to cancel & refund a myIDTravel ticket?

How to contact myIDTravel?

Interpreting the myidtravel fare codes.

  • The same itinerary has already been booked for a passenger with this name

An error occurred while booking a ticket on myIDTravel

Chances are that you need myIDTravel to  book your staff travel tickets . It is an online portal created by Lufthansa Systems for airline employees to book their non-rev tickets.

You are visiting the StaffTraveler website

You might have found this page on Google while searching for myIDTravel. StaffTraveler is an app to get reliable flight loads for your non-rev flights. We are not associated with myIDTravel.

How to cancel & refund a myIDTravel ticket?

Refunding a myIDTravel ticket involves two steps:

  • Find your ticket
  • Refund the ticket

1. Find your ticket ticket

To initiate a refund, the easiest way is to access the ticket via  Your flight list . You can also click on the  Manage Bookings & Tickets  button and enter your e-ticket number.

2. Refund the ticket

Click the  Refund  button. The details of your ticket will be shown. Click  Refund now  to initiate the refund.

  • Refunds may be processed on any e-ticket with an  open  status, issued less than 365 days ago (this period may differ per airline).
  • Partially used tickets and segments flown out of sequence may need to be refunded manually, which may take some time.
  • It may take 4 weeks or longer for the refund to be processed. Fares and taxes for unused segments will be refunded by the ticketing airline to the credit card used during the listing process. You may not receive an confirmation by email.
  • Refunds will not be issued for the mylDTravel fee for used portions of any ticket.

MyIDTravel support is notoriously hard to get in contact with. If you face any problems with:

  • login or password problems

... myIDTravel suggests you contact your airline's staff travel department.

For other inquiries, you can contact myIDTravel using a form on  their website . You'll find a link to their contact form on the bottom of the page.

StaffTraveler is not in any way associated with myIDTravel.

When checking the flight loads in myIDTravel, you are presented a variety of fare codes. These letters represent a category of airline tickets available for purchase. The corresponding number is a rough indication of the number of available tickets for sale. These numbers might be out-of-date and are capped to 7 or 9 (depending on the operating airline). Also, the sum of the numbers does not equal the total number of available seats. Lastly, most airlines overbook flights, so these numbers do not represent how many seats are actually available to non-rev on.

  • Business/first class: A, C, D, F, I, J
  • Premium economy class: W
  • Economy class: B, E, Y, X

Accurate and up-to-date load information can be obtained in the StaffTraveler app.

MYIDTRAVEL ERROR

The same itinerary has already been booked for a passenger with this name. please change itinerary data..

When you get this error, something has gone wrong with your booking. Most likely, the payment has failed. Your tickets are held for about half an hour, during which you cannot make a new booking for the same itinerary.

Wait 30 minutes and try again.

If you cannot access an unused PNR, it has either been cancelled previously or purged from the airline’s reservation system and is no longer available.

Access your e-ticket via the  Your flight list  to relist or refund.

myIDTravel is known to have reliability issues. If you're having trouble booking tickets on myIDTravel, it's worth trying again the next day. We advice anticipating errors and book your tickets in advance.

How to get a REAL ID and use it for travel

The REAL ID Act is a law that sets higher security standards for state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards (IDs).

Why upgrade your license to a REAL ID?

Beginning May 7, 2025, if you have not upgraded your driver’s license or state-issued ID to be REAL ID-compliant, you will not be able to use it to:

  • Board federally regulated commercial aircraft
  • Access federal government facilities or military installations
  • Enter nuclear power plants

Visit the REAL ID website for more details and frequently asked questions .

Check to see if your license or state ID is already REAL ID-compliant

If your driver's license or state ID has a star in the upper right-hand corner, it is already REAL-ID-compliant. There is nothing more you need to do.

How to get a REAL ID

When you apply for or renew your driver’s license or state identification card, you can choose to make it REAL ID-compliant. Find and visit your state's driver's licensing agency website to see what documentation you will need. Your new card will have the REAL ID star marking at the top right.

Using REAL ID and other ID options to board a plane

If you do not upgrade your license or state ID, you can use a passport or one of these other acceptable forms of identification to fly .

Can you still get a non-REAL ID-compliant license or state ID?

You will still be able to get a driver's license or state ID card that is not REAL ID-compliant. But you will not be able to use it for air travel or to get into federal facilities or military installations. Find and visit your state's driver's licensing agency website to see how to get a non-REAL ID-compliant license or state ID.

"A bag that has been locked with a TSA-approved lock will allow a TSA officer to access a locked bag if it requires a physical bag check," Dankers said.

Digging further into the TSA's guidelines , "TSA has been provided universal 'master' keys under agreements with Safe Skies Luggage Locks and Travel Sentry so that certain branded locks may not have to be cut to inspect baggage." The website also states that the packaging on the locks should indicate they can be opened by TSA officers.

Total solar eclipse could cause air travel delays: FAA

Air traffic and airports along the eclipse's path may be impacted, the FAA said.

ABCNews logo

A total solar eclipse set to deliver a stunning display in the sky on April 8 could be trouble for some air travelers and pilots due to possible flight delays, the Federal Aviation Administration warned.

The eclipse -- which will pass over Mexico, the United States and Canada -- is expected to impact air traffic and airports along the eclipse's path from April 7 until April 10, the FAA said in a notice about special air traffic procedures. This could mean delays for air travelers, too -- especially as the eclipse overlaps with spring break travel, the agency said Wednesday.

The FAA estimated that any air travel impacts from the eclipse would be felt from April 7 at 6 a.m. until April 10 at midnight.

"While most travelers are heading to their favorite vacation destinations, a significant number of travelers are heading to various states to witness 'The Great North American Eclipse' on Monday, April 8," the FAA said in a news release.

"Travelers flying along the eclipse path may encounter limited parking and potential delays at airports due to the high volume of aircraft and drones attempting to witness the total solar eclipse," the FAA said.

A total solar eclipse -- which happens when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the sun -- is a draw for many people since it can be rare. The last total solar eclipse that was visible in the U.S. took place in 2017, according to NASA .

Many travelers are planning to fly to the states where the eclipse is expected to be most visible: from Texas to New England, the FAA said. Airports in these states will be most affected, the agency said.

login to my id travel

"Some are even planning their flights to be airborne during the actual eclipse," FAA Aviation Safety Expert Kevin Morris said.

Air travel to see the eclipse intersects with spring break travel, which the FAA predicted will make next week "the busiest of the season."

The busiest travel days are expected to be March 28, April 4 and April 5, with more than 50,000 flights expected on several of those days, the FAA said.

The FAA is working to make sure pilots are prepared for the eclipse, too, and are offering guidance to commercial and private pilots that includes anticipating larger-than-normal numbers of aircraft and drones in the area, potential delays and limited parking at some airports.

"And remember, never look directly at the sun," Morris added.

It's not safe to look directly at the sun during an eclipse without specialized eye protection for solar viewing, NASA says.

Delays and cancellations are low but can happen, the FAA said, reminding travelers to check the status of their flights and get important travel tips on the FAA website before heading to the airport.
